I’ve been buying reclaimed wood from E&K since their old Venice Blvd days, and I’ve built a ridiculous number of art pieces from what I’ve hauled out of their yard over the years. Today I visited their newer location (they’ve been here about nine years now) and it was everything I love about this place, turned up: an insane selection of species, tones, textures, and “how is this even real?” boards that make you want to redesign your whole project on the spot.

Jean was AMAZING—friendly, patient, and genuinely knowledgeable. I came in with a deadline and a vague creative panic, and she somehow translated that into exactly what I needed. In and out, perfect pieces, deadline saved, blood pressure lowered.

Even my Frenchie, Sage—who wakes up every day reading every book by its cover—fell in love with her. This dog would bring a weapon to a group hug, so that’s the highest compliment I can offer.
