“Arts station is our go to station when we need gas for the motorcycle, car and tractor. It's easy to get in and out. Art is a great man, always asks how we are.”

“More than just a grocery store.SPD's connection and involvement with life in Nevada County is evidenced by their continual community support of worthwhile projects that benefit everyone, even if you don't shop there. SPD also hires the handicapped and disabled, which requires extra management attention but they do so gladly because of a commitment to the community. It would be hard for me to justify not shopping there, if I could live locally again. SPD is First Class.”

“I generally shop at Grocery Outlet when available. You can't beat the prices and I love their inventory. I shopped at the Grass Valley location for the first time (we are moving to the area next year and return monthly to explore and find our home). I was so impressed! Its selection was the best of any Grocery Outlet location I've been to, and I've been to many between San Diego to Everett, Wa., and many locations in between. I also used to shop at the Arizona locations in Tucson a long time ago. This store's inventory was incredible, it was well organized, clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'll be shopping here for sure when we move here.”

“best and only pumpkin patch in the area!! pick your own pumpkin from the field and then end your visit with some yummy treats from the snack shake. there's also numerous farm animals to see including a giant turkey (that I'm sure come November will be a goner lol)plus it's a working farm which means you're not only supporting a local business but a long standing farming family in Nevada county!!love the bierwagons and wouldn't ever go anywhere else!”

“This is my go to market because it's close to my home and if it's snowing I can still run in there and get my necessities...in and out quickly! Happy and Bobby also have great customer service! Ps. Bobby brought my groceries into my car because my hand hurt from skiing!”

“I love using my Safeway app. I see what is on sale and click on deals meant for me. I also earn rewards, like today I earned enough to lower my gas down .20 a gallon.”

“Great customer service, good deals, everything tastes fresh, everything I want as far as drinks, snacks, smoking habits I can get there. Been going there off and on past 14 years, great place to go”

“The “old Safeway” in downtown Grass Valley (not sure why our small town needs 2 Safeways, but I digress) is the most convenient grocery store, at times. The store is smaller and older, but has everything you need. Usually there are enough checkers to get you through quickly. There are no “extras” in this store - no deli, no bakery, no coffee bar. Just the basics, ma’am, and that’s exactly the purpose they fill.”

“Deliciously prepared dishes, fantastic supply of the best quality foods & fresh meats with lots of choices for locally grown produce and competitive prices! Friendly, friendly staff to boot :)”

“Although I don't buy my gas here (too expensive even with 20 cents off a gallon when using your Safeway card) I still use their car wash. They have different prices..10 dollars..12 dollars..and 15 dollars. You can also include add ons. Location is right off the freeway (corner of Auburn and Main Street) on Grass Valley. They also have car vacs and a place to add air to your tires. They do serve hot food inside (never tried it) but could be a good option if you ate traveling and need to pick something up quickly. Overall I am pretty happy with the car wash!”

“One of the best micro stores in town, great selection for such a small store, very friendly staff. If you need anything last minute, or late in the evening I would stop here. Even some basic tools and camping supplies can be found here.”

“Almost a five star, a little understaffed at times, one completely rude female cashier but the rest are always cheerful and absolutely amazing. Places is usually cleaned very well and easy to find what you need.”

“Kindness goes a long way. We love "our little neighborhood market". But today the men who work there made a tough situation better for my family. Unfortunately my toddler vomited in the store. The guy behind the counter rushed him to the sink to be cleaned up and helped with a speedy checkout. As a parent it is horrifying when your kid unexpectedly pukes in public. Worried about the mess, judgment, and our child. But the guys working showed kindness and we will always remember that.”

“I love this store and the quality of produce. I'm happy to pay extra to shop here now and then. The behavior of the employees has been going downhill, though. I think a lot of it is a staffing issue... but its still not acceptable to be rude to the customers because of it, and I see that very often in the cashiers lately.”

“Raleys has staff that work very hard, recently they have been understaffed. The problem with the Raleys is not the staff or really any of the store itself but the "patrons" or "customers". These customers seem to have not attended preschool to learn basic patience and care. They never learned about the golden rule, nor do they care about those around them and what they may be dealing with. The customers at Raleys are horrendous and extremely rude to those working there SERVING THEM at a minimum wage job. If anything, Grass Valley should go back to preschool and realize we are all human, and no one wants to be yelled at or to cause others to have a hard time. GROW UP RALEYS CUSTOMERS!!! I went there to buy a drink after class and had to deal with a "grown man" crying and shuddering at missing out on a party he was going to attend that evening... it was around 5 pm. seriously.”
