“Four stars but ONLY and I mean ONLY because the two guys working there when I walked in seemed cool and were "just following policy". I am a relatively new resident of Pt. Richmond. No Wells Fargo nearby, so went here to see if it was a good place to transfer all my family (and my business) WF accounts for convenience purposes (because I now live only about 5 minutes from this location in Pt. Richmond). After waiting in a short line, the teller (a nice professional guy) asked "Can I help you?" I said that my now adult daughter has a US Savings bond (now "matured") for one hundred dollars, and would it be OK for her to come in and cash it out? The teller asked another teller if that was OK, and the other teller said they could only do that "for current customers only". Fair enough and no hard feelings, so I left. BUT: Whoever is running that branch and making the rules really really has it backwards. Anyone who walks into the door is a potential customer- even if not on that day- and should walk out thinking "this place is great-I will be back and tell everyone I know to go here!!!". Even if the guy walking in the door just wants to break a ten dollar bill. He can be told "Hey if you ever want to open an account here, here's some information, and I will take good care of you!!" etc. But the policy of this branch is: Until and unless you are a customer here, don't bother to ask us for anything even though it costs us nothing and- by the way- we actually aren't all that interested whether you ever become a customer here in the future. SO: I transferred my WF Accounts to another bank in Marin.”

“I opened an account with Bank of Marin after moving to Sausalito from the East Bay. The Sausalito branch offered excellent customer service for a few years but, after an employee shake-up, it was never the same. After 18 years in Sausalito, I relocated to Mill Valley and am lucky enough to be in walking distance to the Bank of Marin branch in Mill Valley. The employees at this branch are exceptionally friendly and efficient. I cannot describe how wonderful it is to have a nearby bank where the staff automatically goes above and beyond to help their customers. I would give them ten stars if possible!”

My husband went inside to cash the check while I walked our rescue Husky. She is a vocal girl. Immediately, Ly was out with treats and invited us inside. I was amazed. Stan took care of cashing the check and was so personable and professional. He and our son went to high school together. It was like a mini-reunion. Another woman came in and I offered to take my dog outside, but Ly made the woman very comfortable in a cubicle away from us. I spent my entire career in banking and never witnessed such genuine care for people by branch personnel. They are fantastic.”

“Just opened two accounts here after 20 years doing business banking at Bank of the West. I WAS going to go to Bank of America across the street; but there was a 30+ person line. No lines (so far) at Bank of Marin any of the times I've physically been there. They've even got free customer parking in the alley behind the bank next to Il Davide.The bank is just regional with most of their dozen or so branches in-county. But if you like personalized service and not having to stand in lines, it's a great choice if you live in Marin County.”

“This bank goes out of the way to help you. Today I brought my Aunt in at lunch to do her banking, per corporate they only have 2 tellers and 1 was on lunch. The teller was so professional and courteous to all the rude customers who were bitterly complaining about the "slow" service. The teller was not slow, she handled every transaction quickly, what took time was her having to listen, with a smile and apologizing, about how slow and long the line was. Each customer had to berate her after she gave them top notch service, genuinely and with a smile. Now that is a good employee with exceptional customer service skills.”
