“I have always felt that the only BMW you should own is one under warranty. Parts & repair at a dealership are astronomical. Driven SD is close to home, they have outstanding reviews here & on Yelp, so we decided to give them a try.
The reviews didn't lie: They are really that good. We have returned several times for repairs with great results. Their prices are very reasonable, with their estimates prior to doing the work, spot on. If there is something that they can't do, they will refer you to the right shop. That was our experience with a front end suspension issue. The BMW repair network is a valuable commodity!

“Went in and got my lifted Chevy Silverado smogged. Great customer service & very professional! I even heard a customer before me talking about how amazing their service was in a previous time she was at this location. Took my truck right away and it didn’t take long at all to get it smogged here, passed of course :)! I will definitely be coming back I appreciate the shop and how they handle their customers. “I cannot recommend John’s Automotive Care highly enough. I brought them a used truck I was seriously considering purchasing and asked them to perform an independent pre-purchase inspection. David and the team were incredibly thorough, professional, and straightforward with me.
This wasn’t a quick glance around the vehicle. They went through it carefully and documented everything with detailed notes and photos. They found significant suspension and steering problems, a leaking differential, a completely failed axle boot, worn suspension components, cooling system issues, brakes needing attention, and multiple electrical/interior problems that I never would have discovered from a normal test drive.
The inspection completely changed my decision about purchasing the truck and potentially saved me thousands of dollars in immediate repairs. The technician was very candid with me about the overall condition of the vehicle and took the time to explain what he was seeing rather than simply handing me a checklist.
What makes this even more impressive is that I paid a greatly reduced amount for the inspection with my AAA discount. Considering the amount of time, documentation, photographs, and expertise they put into it, that may be the best inspection money I have ever spent on a vehicle.
If you're considering buying a used vehicle in the San Diego/El Cajon area, especially from a dealership, I would absolutely recommend having John’s Automotive Care inspect it before you sign anything. I was about to spend more than $25k on this truck, and these guys gave me exactly the independent information I needed to make an informed decision.

“Brought my truck in for a re-gear on my truck and while it was there had them diagnose a suspension noise issue. The re-gear went well. The fix for the suspension not good. Issue wasnt fixed but charged for it. But I was refunded partially for it. Anyhow, overall experience was excellent. Customer service is great. They have a ton of experience for the years they've been in business. They come highly recommended. These guys know their stuff. So if you're local, bring them your business. Its good to support a family business.”

“Caliber's staff is quite friendly and personable, and they took my Volvo V60 within a week of my dropping it off. Jacob even gave me a ride home. Their technician found and replaced a weak leak detection pump in the EVAP system which caused a P0442 code, triggering the CEL. I bought and delivered the part from the local dealer to bring to them before leaving for the bay area that weekend. The car was finished the Monday I returned despite it being a tricky job. My only complaint would be that the drivers seat bottom was so visably dirty that it took two automotive wipes to clean it up before I even sat in it. The interior is cream colored and it does exhibit dirt a little too well. Perhaps a floor mat on the seat would have helped this matter. Overall, I'm quite satisfied and my car should pass inspection when the time inevitably comes.”

I had taken it to Pep Boys for an oil change and they tried to slap me with 4 emergency repairs that needed done. I took it to Oscar for a second opinion and he was able to verify which problems were crucial, which could wait, and even told me they misdiagnosed one and there wasn't actually a problem at all. “I had my windshield replaced on my Ford Maverick by Ivan Del Galio from Safelite, and I’m pretty sure he didn’t just install glass… he installed a whole new outlook on life.
The moment he finished, everything outside my truck suddenly looked brighter. Colors popped like someone turned the saturation up on the entire world. I’m not saying Ivan installed a magical windshield… but birds seemed to sing louder, the sky looked bluer, and my neighbor’s yard somehow looked less judgmental.
Ivan was professional, quick, and clearly knows what he’s doing. The install was smooth, clean, and he treated my truck like it was his own. If Safelite has more techs like Ivan running around making the world literally look better, they’re doing something right.
10/10 service. Would absolutely recommend. And if my view of life keeps improving like this, I might start replacing other windows in my house too.”

“The work my truck needed was not cheap but, these guys came recommended from different sources. My 2005 6.0 Powerstroke went in with a bunch of issues, although it had to return for a second time they fixed every issue including blown head gaskets which was a big project. Originally I thought they missed a couple things but once checking again turns out it had nothing to do with their work. Waited a few months to write this review but my truck has been running great since. The mechanic David was very knowledgeable and walked me through which parts I needed to change and why. This will be the shop my truck returns to for maintenance.”
