El Mono Motel & Latte Da Coffee Cafe
US-395 &, 3rd St, Lee ViningWe spent the night and enjoyed breakfast here after coming off the JMT and getting a ride into Lee Vining. The staff was so friendly and helpful right from the start, it felt like we were visiting family more than staying in a hotel. I absolutely loved the simplicity of the room (we got room 1 with a double bed and private bathroom). From the renovated and clean bathroom to the comfy bed with flannel comforter cover, it was more like a home bedroom than hotel. No TV, no blinking lights and noises from a mini fridge or AC unit, it was dark and quiet. The cafe was absolutely amazing! The best coffee and GF/V brownies, delicious fresh fruit smoothies and sandwiches to die for! We loved sitting in their whimsical gardens and just relaxing and eating good food after many days and nights on the trail.

Mono Cone
51508 US-395, Lee ViningThere's so many tourist food traps serving disappointing food along the 395, but Mono Cone is nothing like those. I religiously stop every time I drive past for a banana shake and a bacon cheeseburger. Sometimes the line can be long, but they move quickly and its always worth it.

Whoa Nellie Deli
22 Vista Point Dr, Lee ViningThis was a great pit stop on our journey to Utah. Restrooms were clean, plenty of snacks to choose from, breakfast burrito hit the spot and they have the best sugar free vanilla latte I’ve ever had!
Make the stop here and you won’t be disappointed. Also, there is a great view of Mono Lake.

51357 US-395, Lee ViningThis is a BBQ restaurant! The bad reviews seem to be complaining about mediocre burgers and steaks. I tried the beef rib BBQ plate and it was great. The $30+ price for beef ribs was reasonable compared to BBQ restaurants in Texas. It comes with unlimited salad bar and soup.
