Complimentary Sunday brunch for the residents prepared by Causwells restaurant in the lobby and pool side service. The property is spotless. Parking is not included in your rent, it's separate for $150 per month. Enjoyed my tour with Paula & Jalene.”

“My son used to reside at the Hamilton apartments and we had the occasion to visit him last year there. The apartments are distributed in a very large area and construction plus the distribution of flats is very thoughtfully done. Almost all balconies provide privacy. Inside the apartments rooms, kitchen and washrooms all are beautifully designed. Plenty of parking including for the guests is available. There is a proper waste disposal management where a dedicated place a little away from the apartments in marked where the residents place their waste bags as and when they feel like. The entrances are properly locked and residents have remote access from about 6-7 gates located in different places. If you want to party enough space is dedicated near the reception. I couldn't find anything which is missing in terms of providing comfort to the inhabitants. I feel sorry that I did not photograph this very nice location.”

Good location, quiet surroundings, great leasing office team (shout out to the great maintenance team and onsite team. Mae helped a lot!) Parking spot is easy to find. Room is spacious. The renovated units are GREAT. Can’t speak much downside about the place. Moving out because of my work changes. Will miss my old unit :( P.S: The last 2 months utility fee will be charged after you move out so pay attention to ur account balance or you’ll be charged for late fee”

“I have loved living at the Palomino. The building is great and the staff is so responsive and attentive, particularly Tony Watson, the property manager, and Martin, the building supervisor. Martin is always quick to handle any issues I have with my unit. And throughout the process of finding the apartment, applying for the apartment, moving in and living in the apartment, Tony has been there every step of the way. He was and is so responsive to every question, email and text—even on his days off! He made a stressful process absolutely stress-free. I especially appreciated how he organized building-wide social events for the residents to get to know one another. Everyone in the building is so friendly, and Tony seems to be friends with them all. He is an outstanding representative of the Palomino and I am grateful for our interactions with Tony.”

“My only hesitation in writing this stellar review is that it could price out people who genuinely care about this community, in favor of those who can pay more but feel less connected to 885 as a home and Woodside Plaza-Redwood City as a hometown. Redwood City has been our home for many years, and I attended the 885 Woodside open house around 2009, just before it was converted to rentals. The building has held up well. Built with real craftsmanship and designed for people who want a home, not a temporary stop. 885 also isn’t your Home Depot remodel, but quality that simply can’t be afforded these days, if you ask any contractor. High-end crown moldings, solid doors, brass door handles, upgraded double-pane windows, and real cabinetry. This is a solid building that I would feel safe in a storm or earthquake. You'd pay triple the cost today to upgrade a home to these standards. A huge plus is the central heating and air conditioning, which you can't get in most homes here, and it made a real difference during the apocalyptic CZU fires. There are also practical reasons we appreciate about 885: secure garage parking, trash chutes so we’re not dragging cans out (especially on cold, stormy days), no gutter cleaning or landscape maintenance, and everything we need within walking distance, like local schools, friends, and our community. I’ve known many people in this building and throughout the neighborhood who genuinely love this place. Aesthetically, it fits the community, and the people who choose to live here are invested in it. Management has been hit-or-miss over the years, but the current manager, David, has made a real difference in a short time. He’s a Redwood City native rooted in this community, and that care shows. Within his first month, he cleaned and organized the gym, power-washed the garage, trimmed trees, decorated the lobby for the holidays, and even set up a gift-wrapping station. David isn't just passing by; he is making things work because he has integrity and cares about this place. It is his home too. Albeit nothing is perfect. Sometimes neighbors are weird, dogs bark, and not everyone follows the rules, but that’s part of community living, and we’d experience the same or worse anywhere. Redwood City has come a long way, and this building is a gem. Until you’ve lived in one of those cramped old homes or apartment buildings, or places where the landlord suddenly asks you to leave so they can renovate and sell, you don’t fully appreciate.”

“Living here was overall a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The management (Sabrina and Charlie) and maintenance teams were very responsive and did an excellent job of addressing any concerns. If you can tour and like what you see, I would recommend living here. Pros: - Staff - Value (my unit had in-unit laundry, though not all units do) - Parking availability for guests - Proximity to Safeway and Waterdog Park Cons: - Distance from 101 and public transit - Older establishment (nothing is too jank, so not an issue if you’re able to tour in person and are okay with it) - Poor noise isolation. I was never bothered by my neighbors, but it will probably be an issue if you want to have frequent social gatherings.”

“My wife and I have lived here for a few years now. Started out in a one bedroom, then moved to a two bedroom when we were expecting. Fast forward to now, having 2 kids, we are still enjoying our residency. Rolando, our maintenance guy has been amazing. He's been so responsive, kind and great at what he does. He is very courteous and always easy to talk to. The building is kept clean and safe and any concern is usually addressed in a timely fashion. Only con I can think of would be annual rent increases but I'd imagine that's the same elsewhere.”

It’s a 10 minute walk to downtown Redwood City — restaurants, movie theater, and the CalTrain station. It would be impossible to talk about how great it is to live at Brewster Place without mentioning Gwen and Sterling, the couple that runs our building. They are exceptionally responsive, always addressing issues promptly and with kindness. I genuinely can’t imagine living here without them!! For the duration of my time here, our building has always felt clean, safe, and cozy. From talking with other friends who live in apartments on the Peninsula, we know how lucky we are!
