“I went in to deliver a package to Wisconsin and the man at the desk, Mickey, was so kind and helpful. He went above and beyond to explain what the best option would be for delivering my fragile package. I really felt like my delivery was in good hands and he was just a genuinely kind person which is rare to find in service these days. Thank you Mickey!”
“OMG the 4930 Balboa Blvd, Encino, CA 91316 post office is so amazing it's much better compared to the damn Winnetka USPS office around the corner of my home were I'm still resolving an issue with a package I assume they lost and is stuck in pre shipment after mom dropped it off for me the staff is friendly and amazing and I love the place so clean and tidy if you live near by just do it go to that office drive the extra mile for great service don't get disappointed by stupid customer service the post office I mention above my review is worth it a great place”
“When ever I went here to ship a package ? I would make the line, not super long but there's a line. One day I was in the line and one of the workers was asking if anyone had a QR code and I did and he told me that I didn't had to wait in the line, that I can do it myself on the self help machines. He showed me how to use it and now every time I go I just scan my QR code and the label prints out I Put it on my package and all done.”
“Mailed a couple packages here for priority mail. They had the priority boxes and labels available. It wasn’t too busy when we went. Great customer service that was efficient.”
“The Encino Post Office operates with a level of consistency and efficiency that’s increasingly rare. Under the management of Alfonso, the branch is well-organized and runs smoothly even during busy hours. Wait times are generally short, and the staff appear well-trained and focused on keeping things moving without unnecessary delays.
Alfonso maintains a visible presence and seems actively involved in daily operations, which likely contributes to the overall professionalism of the team. The counters are staffed appropriately, lines are managed efficiently, and any questions are handled clearly and without confusion.
It’s evident that this location benefits from strong leadership and attention to process. Compared to other branches I’ve visited, the Encino location stands out for being clean, orderly, and consistent. It’s a reliable place to take care of postal needs without hassle.”

“I took my friend who has some difficulty due to a previous stroke. She had concerns about her mail box security at her home address and we went to inquire about a PO Box.
Sterling was so accommodating and made the process easy for her to understand as she gets confused easily and sometimes needs a little more time to process information. He explained everything including the process when ordering/receiving boxes or packages from Amz, Fedx, UPS, as they do not deliver to PO box. Very important to know.
Sterling was patient and reassuring. We both left knowing we made the right choice and Sterling had her back….he truly did.
Sterling is actually Golden! Thank you so much for your kindness, patience & compassion.”
“Such a convenient location, always in an easy in, and out to satisfy your post office needs. Always helpful attendants to take care of you. Tons of parking in the front, side, and back of this commercial center”
“Came here bcz it was one of the few P.O.s open on a Saturday. The sweet & professional employee working the counter, Brandy, was the BEST. So repectful, zero attitude, and hard working.”
“I started coming to this post office and I feel comfortable with Marisa. She is very professional and polite and I did a mistake but she helped me to fix it. I just love her attitude. She is great!??”
“The post office in Newhall is one of the best ? A very friendly atmosphere each time I go which is several times a week. Always clean and stocked. While waiting for my turn I always hear how they help other customers with patience & detailed information. This has been my go to post office for about 6 years and not once have I encountered any issues. A+++++”
“I was dealing with a frustrating situation involving a missing parcel that had been stuck in transit with no updates for days. After getting nowhere online, I came into the branch hoping for some clarity—and that’s when I met Victor, the branch manager.
Victor was not only professional but genuinely helpful and patient. He took the time to listen, pulled up the tracking information, and made several calls on my behalf to locate the package. Thanks to his persistence and clear communication, we were able to track it down and get it moving again.
It’s rare these days to find someone who truly cares and follows through. Victor turned a stressful experience into a positive one. Huge thanks to him and the team at this location—your help made all the difference!”
“I stopped by this USPS office to drop of an Amazon return. I been to the plaza this USPS office is in so many times but never knew there was a USPS here. I found parking easily since this office is in a plaza with many parking spots. When I walked inside the post office, there was no one in line so I was able to walk up and hand my package since everything was paid for already. I got my receipt and left, it was a simple and easy process.”
“I was having a hard day, panicking about everything I had to get done and Brenda helped me. She just went that extra step to make it easier for me. I felt human and cared for. Which hardly ever (if ever) happens anymore. THANK YOU BRENDA!”
“Only 4 stars because of the long wait ( 1hr outside, about 2 inside just waiting) but know that I did not have an appointment. Staff was extremely knowledgeable, helpful AND friendly! (Though tired, they're dealing with a lot).
1. Make sure your documents are COMPLETELY filled out BEFORE coming. If not I guess do it in line outside but bring a clipboard or something to write on. They do have a LIMITED supply of paper applications and they run out so that's why they recommend coming with your own.
2. Be prepared to wait. Bring water, headphones, a portable charger for your phone, a book, playing cards, whatever. You're gonna have to kill some time. There is AC inside and god bless them a fan (and it's hot) but there's an outside area with tables should you brave the heat (some of them have umbrellas so it's not too bad). One lady brought lunch with her. Queen.
3. Be prepared to STAND too. There aren't enough chairs. Wear comfortable shoes.
4. There are NO public bathrooms.
5. There are vending machines that are cash/coin only. Not sure if it's expensive but at least those are an option.
6. There was a fruit vendor near here and that fruit looked glorious in this heat so BRING CASH and support your local vendor.
All in all, my partners appointment only took him like 5 mins lol. Other people's seem to take way longer.”

“The employees make this location a 5 star one, especially Janice, she is a superstar, the epitome of stellar customer service!
This location is so much cleaner than many other post offices.
Parking spots are sparse, but there are a couple of large parking lots nearby and the streets have parking too”
“I honestly can’t say enough good things about this USPS location. I’ve been here multiple times for different services, and every visit has been consistently excellent.
The employees are incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. They explain everything clearly and make sure nothing is missed. You can really tell they care about doing their job well.
Hands down the best USPS experience I’ve ever had. Huge compliments to the entire team! you’re doing a fantastic job!”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Postmasters on Riverside Dr is hands down my go-to for shipping. The two gentlemen there are always super helpful and really know the ins and outs—whether I’m shipping to family in New York or sending packages internationally.
I’m writing this review because they saved me big time. Today, FedEx wanted $180 per package (plus box fees) to ship two large boxes to Utah. I went to Postmasters instead and they got it down to $88.20 per package. Huge difference.
Honest, knowledgeable, and fair pricing. I won’t ship anywhere else.”
“online it says they’re open till 4pm but that’s a huge lie. They’re only open till 3pm. I’ve asked them numerous times. Can they please change the times to reflect their actual hours online and they just look at me like I’m an alien.”
“Judging off of my most recent visit last week, I had to go here to pick up my mail due to idiot criminals breaking into my community’s mail boxes. I rang the bell, and someone came right out. She returned quickly with my mail and explained a reasonable timeline to fixing the locks on the mailboxes and prevention. Plenty of parking, and not busy at all.”
“Came by on Wednesday last week and they helped me out so quickly and both staff members were really nice!! Have a nice conversation as well I recommend coming here for anything!! This one and San Fernando usps will be a favorite! I’ve had my far shares to the closest one to me which is Pacoima and they were terrible and rude but now I know where to drop off my stuff at :)! Thank you”
“My passport expired and I needed a new one quickly for a trip that I am planning. The USPS in Sun Valley, CA was the nearest location that offered passport services. This location offers appointments & walk-in services from 10am to 11am. I arrived at 10am and waited in line for my turn. I was greeted by Roel, the USPS associate at the front desk with a smile and a good morning.
I had a few questions about the process which he answered immediately and then he took me through the process of renewing my passport. He was professional, exceptionally efficient and thorough. He found a few errors on my application and helped me correct them. He took my photo and suggested the photo that would best complete the passport application and then I paid the fee for expedited service due to my time issues. I had been dreading this task but Roel made it a very pleasant experience and I was finished before 11am and for that I am very grateful for Roel, the Sun Valley USPS passport boss?”
“This is the USPS location I use most of the time because it’s the closest to my house. The staff are always super friendly and ready to explain anything I need help with. They have a small parking lot that can get busy at times you might have to wait a minute or two or circle back for a spot. Inside, there are only two or three service counters, but the staff work efficiently and keep the line moving, so wait times are rarely an issue. I’ve had to send packages internationally before, and any time I had questions about the forms or process, they helped me every step of the way with a smile on their faces. It’s a completely different experience compared to the Reseda location, where everyone always looks miserable. I 100% recommend this USPS location to anyone in the Winnetka area who needs to send mail.”
“Long live the United States Postal Service! I've always had good experiences at this Post Office. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable. I've always been able to find parking in the parking lot and the overall atmosphere is clean and orderly. Thank you postal workers!”

“I use this Post Office most often and staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are willing to help you mail your package to benefit you w/ arrival time and give options w/ pricing. They never rush you and seem to love their jobs. The place is always clean and love you can just walk to the plastic curtain and drop off a package that doesn't need any postage; just drop and go. We will continue to use the USPS location.”
“Warning: DO NOT SHIP ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO LOSE! GO WITH FEDEX, MIGHT BE A FEW BUCKS MORE BUT YOU WILL NOT NEED TO DEAL WITH THIS WHEN IT HAPPENS TO YOUR VALUABLE PROPERTY.
MY STORY
I am filing this complaint regarding the mishandling of an insurance claim and the unreasonable process required to attempt to resolve it.
Shipping services purchased through USPS include up to $100 in insurance coverage. Based on that, this should have been a straightforward process. Instead, what should have taken a short visit turned into hours of my time and three separate trips to the post office. Only to have my claim denied, why, because they did not review the info I already submitted.
I initially filed my claim online and later received a letter instructing me to bring the item in for inspection. I followed those instructions. However, upon visiting the post office, I was repeatedly told to return because no one was available to assist me. They said I need a supervisor, and one is not always present.
I made three separate visits, each time complying fully with what was requested. On my final visit, after already investing significant time, I provided all documentation. During that visit, the power went out. Shocker.
At that point, I asked the staff to hold the item while they clarified internally what was needed to complete the process, in order to avoid yet another unnecessary trip. The staff was not apologetic, knowledgeable, or helpful throughout this process.
Despite fully complying with all requirements and making repeated efforts, my claim was still denied. The stated reason was that proof of value was not provided. However, this documentation had already been submitted with the initial claim. It appears no proper review was conducted before denying the claim, resulting in further unnecessary delays and wasted time.
This process was unnecessarily difficult, time-consuming, and inefficient. What should have been a simple insurance claim turned into a prolonged back-and-forth with inconsistent instructions. As a result, I spent HOURS resolving something that should have taken minutes. Over 3 to 4 hours, this makes me sick to think about.
As a high-volume shipper (over X packages per month), I rely on USPS services and expect a reasonable and functional claims process. This experience has significantly reduced my trust in USPS handling of insured shipments.
I have escalated this matter to BBB, USPS Consumer Affairs and the Office of Inspector General.
Desired Resolution: Work on your process. No one should go through this.
I wish I could get back half the time I spent on this. I will never waste my time with them again. All trust is gone.”
“Prior to moving into Bella Vista, I read a number of reviews mentioning concerns with USPS service in the area, particularly around package delivery and pickup. That made me a little nervous because I run an online resale business and basically live and die by mail.
Shortly after moving in, I was in full “new apartment confusion mode” and genuinely had no idea where my mailbox was. At that point, I stopped a USPS carrier nearby for help. That was Giuseppe. He was incredibly kind, calm, and patient with my chaos. He asked for ID as expected, even though I was clearly mid-move and not fully sorted yet, and he still took the time to make sure I got everything handled properly. It turned what could’ve been a stressful moment into a very reassuring one.
Then I met my regular mail carrier, Jose — and honestly, this man is a national treasure in uniform.
Jose is extremely charismatic, always polite, and kind to absolutely everyone he passes on his route. The kind of person who makes you feel like you just ran into the nicest guy in the neighborhood every single day. People stop to talk to him, and he still manages to keep everything moving like a pro.
For my situation specifically, he’s been unbelievable. He knows my general delivery timing like he has a calendar in his head, checks in if I have outgoing packages, and will grab pickups when I manage to get them ready in time. It’s like having a personal logistics manager who also happens to be the friendliest human being on the block.
In all my years shipping packages and dealing with USPS carriers, Jose is easily the best mailman I’ve ever had — reliable, professional, and somehow managing to be both highly efficient and genuinely uplifting at the same time. I definitely disagree with the negative reviews about USPS service at Bella Vista. I couldn't be happier.”
“This is my second time stopping by. The first one was not good at all. Probably it is because it's almost 5pm and they're closing soon. The male postal worker must be tired and he is not happy to answer inquiries. The second time, I came Friday afternoon. There was a line but it went fast. This lady named Sandra helped me to make the transaction easy. She explained to me in detail the differences regarding the amount of each mailing options. With that, it helped me a lot to decide. I agree with a fellow Yelper - Sandra has been a great. Recommended.”
