I had the honor of competing and winning the “Double or Nothing” popping battle there in 2025, and the energy that night was unreal. The crowd was hyped, the dancers came with heavy styles, and the judges held everyone to a high standard exactly the kind of environment that makes you push past your limits. Bloc15 gave the event a professional yet underground feel, with smooth transitions between showcases, battles, and staged cyphers.
Beyond the dance floor, the venue’s staff were welcoming and on point, making sure everything ran smoothly. Whether it’s a dance event, concert, or private function, Bloc15 delivers the perfect mix of culture, class, and creativity. “Scene was the perfect spot for my daughter’s Sweet 16! There was plenty of parking, and the space was super roomy with tables and chairs already provided. The little kitchen and three bathrooms were great too! Working with Toby was super easy. He was so responsive and accommodating. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. I’d definitely book this place again! Highly recommend!”

“My wife and I became members here and have no regrets. Great location next to the estuary and Jack London Square. We have tried all of their wines through having their flights. When we come we like to eat something with it so we have tried the almonds, olives,Brie, bread, pizza and salad with chicken. No complaints. The service has always been on point. Join or visit!”

“This venue was perfect for what we wanted! We wanted a small wedding of 50 guests and I was looking for a place with some scenery and not just a boring hall that needed a lot to look beautiful. We were on a small budget so we also needed something at a reasonable price. This place hit all that and more. All of our guests loved the venue and it helped that it was a beautiful sunny day. The garden area made for a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and great for photos. The lake was beautiful with all the ducks swimming around. I loved everything about this venue and definitely recommend it if you are having a small wedding.”

Great I want to give a resounding shout-out to Ariel and Patrick, the proprietors of this amazing establishment. I have been to events at ShotClock 3 times and am always impressed by this space and by them. I am hosting an event there soon and they made it so easy to book the space. They are warm and welcoming and are extremely community oriented! They are all about SERVICE! “I had my wedding here at Fairview Metropolitan and it was the MOST AMAZING DAY EVER! For starters Angela Muse helped us from start to finish on planning our day and every little detail in between! She was amazing to work with, she was clear, communicative, friendly and organized which is everything you want when you are planning your wedding! When I arrived at my reception I was blown away by the decor and how beautiful every detail was! Thank you so much Angela for all of your hard work and support in making my dream reception!!!
The vendors that are connected to Fairview that I opted into having was DJ Keel and Ting at Montclair Florist. DJ Keel was a phenomenal MC and met with us ahead of time to get an idea of how we wanted our wedding MC'd as well as what we wanted our music to be like and let me tell you he achieved it!!! My guests were laughing, entertained and raving about the music all night! Thank you Dj Keel!
I coordinated with Ting from Montclair Florist and although we did not talk much I have to say my bouquet and center pieces were the most beautiful flower arrangements I have ever seen! The flowers were stunning and she ran with the ideas I had and made it the most beautiful arrangement ever!!
My guests were raving about the food and we were so supported by KeeKee our Banquet Manager! She checked in on us and made sure we were good throughout our reception!

I followed the sound of the live DJ and was pleased to find it was coming from a place I get food from a bit regularly.Chef Alreca's food is delicious! “The wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary and renewed our vows with the help of Amanda and her team at the Overlook! The event was beautiful and amazing! We utilized the garden space and pond then transitioned our guest to the covered patio area thereafter. It was a beautiful July afternoon and photos we absolutely gorgeous given the stunning layout! The celebration was stress free for us, as Amanda and her team seamlessly coordinated with the vendors ensuring our ability to enjoy our guests and the celebration! Ask your event coordinator to be sure as it's still dependent on each event to adopt this offering.----------Decent venue structurally: sound is good and floors are nice. Yet for a community space in OAKLAND the prices aren't very reflective of the capitalized oppression of those less privileged in the surrounding neighborhood. I have asked multiple times about sliding scales, or pricing options for those less monetarily advantaged. There has been no response or apparent consideration of these marginalized people who need community and a space much more than anyone who currently "supports" the space with fiat currency. ?I hope this may spark a review of the monetary practices employed and culminate in more choices to allow everyone the opportunity to participate.”

“Oakland Nature Friends is a nature-loving hiking club and an excellent place for yearly German dances and German festivals. I attended the Biergartenfest 2018 and it is such a beautiful location. I enjoyed the entertainment. The costumed NF Schuhplatter dancers were fun. The German beer and food was delicious. I can't wait for Octoberfest.”

“I asked.for.the room.by the elevator was small but fine for me. The desk staff was great room was ready right away. Only think would suggest is having a restraunt list for visitors. There was a fatmers.market.on Friday with food vendors was great. Ate at the restraunt was great and the servers were great and attentive.”
