“Dope Era is, No Question the Saucest clothing store I have ever had the pleasure of stepping inside the front door of. Fab is the Man also No Question, I'm not saying that because I know the guy or because we were both raised in North Oakland. I'm saying that because it's a great store that offers a great experience and mainly because your drip will be turned up to a Million degrees after you throw on the gear you just purchased from Dope Era Believe it! P.s. I also wanted to say or more like needed to say that them cats working in there M or F are top of the line individuals that refused to let an old head like myself walk out of there without his drip dripping off his frame in a proper way and that's is coming from a who has been dripping candy clean since before drip was wet and dripping yadada mean? But ah any-how it was really really real up in that thang I mean these cats are experts in drip or in other words the ladies and gentlemen of said establishment are all themselves what I would consider connoisseurs of fine haberdashery and you can't go wrong if was to fall up in 'nere and take a gander at what the player has to offer, you will be glad you did Mackin, that's on C'tas. The name happens to be Scottie Thurman , one of the few Oakland Hoop legends from Bushrod Park in The North side of Oakland, I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for Mistah Fab and when we finally met he was like , yeah I know you by name only, your reputation proceeds you, they say you was a real problem for some hall of famers back in the day , it was said by someone and I won't say who that you someone who is also an Oakland Hoop Legend Superstar that you never lost to him or anyone a one v one match including the person who I HEARD say this and he won't have a problem with me saying his name, Hook Mitchell the Super Duper Star when it comes to street Hoop legends he is number #1 and he is one of your best friends no hook said you was his brother and that when you get it going your truly Unstoppable and he said you could go full speed without ever stopping and he Called you Y.C. what does Y.C. mean? It means Yo... ..”
“Went in with an appointment with Val S. and they were amazing! They were attentive and gentle and so careful! They have such good energy and I trusted them as soon as I sat down and felt so at ease. Val took such good care of me and I felt truly heard and seen. They are so talented and I would recommend everyone to work with Val! They are amazing, can't say enough about them! I hope they open their own shop one day because their energy was immaculate!”
“This business goes above and beyond for customers. Years ago when they were at their old location, an OUSD high school student of mine was interested in clothing design and small business. My husband liked this brand, so my student and I reached out to Oakland’s Own’s owner. Right away, he was receptive, warm, and encouraging.
We’ve since bought shirts and a jacket for ourselves and family.
More recently, I ordered kids’ clothing. They communicated a restock delay and EVEN BROUGHT IT TO ME to make sure I could gift it in time to out of town family.
I can’t recommend this business enough. And everything we’ve ordered has always been fire. The designs are hella unique and consistently great quality. Plus it’s run by good folks!

“Not only is this lovely little shop amazingly curated with the loveliest clothes and beautiful accessories, the shop owner is a gem of a human to have the chance to interact with. She’s so kind and helpful with finding great styles, it’s a whole experience. She really stretched my style pallet while also being super sensitive and respectful if I wasn’t crazy about certain pieces. I walked out with several outfits I truly love and feel excited about showing up in the world wearing. As some of the others mentioned, she offers drinks and it feels like you’ve stepped into a hospitable little piece of Turkey. Several folks stopped in and it was such a friendly and warm environment. Nothing you could experience at a mall or department store. I will definitely be back both for clothes and great vibes!”

“Julie at Maple Street Denim is incredible at determining fit and talking through differences between the denim brands and designs that her store carries. I found a pair of denim that was perfect for me and my first pair of selvedge! In love with the fit -- definitely trust Julie to help you find a size that works. Maybe due to modern vanity sizing, but I had to go 2-3 sizes down from my normal denim. I'll be back for repairs for my well-loved pairs :)”

“My daughter helped me discover this gem by giving me a gift certificate for my birthday. I went with her at least six months later, and was so charmed by our experience. The range and quality of the fragrances made the trip in worth it. Then, the whimsical environment just made it feel like a magical experience. The owner did not disappoint in this regard, and is very knowledgeable about the scents and their combinations. She patiently supported us (without stalking) while we painstakingly smelled (discovered) every fragrance in each beautiful bottle, then she helped us create our own oil roller and lotion tin using our two favorite scents — which have lasted over a year and still smell good enough to be a staple in my purse.
And the prices… let you know she’s been there a long time and is doing it for the love. Total gem! Love this shop! Planning to go back soon.”

“these guys are very cool and their reasonable with the returns. I had a situation where my mother was Hurtt and I went to visit her long story short to stay put me out over my return. But the manager working there was kind enough to return the item, of course the item had tags and was never used and I’m sure they had all kinds of customers for the jacket, but the point is that was cool of them”

“I love this shop. It's so unique and well laid out - with amazing, high quality, special/beautiful items, such as clothing - all displayed beautifully, and appealingly. “The selection of gifts are vibrant, uniquely designed, and thoughtfully curated. I appreciated how the store owner allowed me to pair and match various baskets even though they were filled with inventory. I was able to pick up last-minute Christmas presents from Nepal, Kenya and India. If you are looking to add more color or geometric designs to your household, there's a drool-worthy section of constellation-inspired houseware (like salt cellars with stars on them) and beautiful basket planters all over the shop.”
“I love this shop. It's my neighborhood place to go for everything I could possibly want when it comes to shopping for new clothing, shoes and accessories. I love popping in at least once or twice a month. When I visit, I like to survey the store and I always seem to find something new or what I want. The merchandise is of quality brands , with trendy and unique items that make it the boutque it is. The staff and owners are friendly and helpful, and are a long time buiness. I kind of consider them a neighborhood institution. They are a huge anchor in this distric. One of my go to's.”

“When I came across this store it was as if the clouds had parted to let the sun shine down on me. Yeah I’m exaggerating but it’s a cool store and the dude who runs it seems laxed. But when he asks you “how much do you think it’s worth?” I recommend quoting some outrageous price and wait for his counter offer. I mean it’s negotiating 101. But when you’re desperate for money, you’ll just be happy if somebody is willing to pay you anything. A mistake I shan’t make again. Yes I do recommend this spot for every hipster rocking a man purse and a cardigan and a SnapBack. Oh my god I just described myself. Bummer?”
“I always find good deals at this location. Some days the racks seem a bit thin but whether for home goods, clothes or shoes, I can always find at least $100 bucks of good stuff. Staff is usually pretty friendly as well.”

“A lovely and well curated little shop in Albany. Just steps from Solano Ave but easy to miss on a side street, this place is a delight. They have ceramics, incense, jewelry, perfumes, body wash, cards, small gifts. I think I saw granola, olive oil and a few cookbooks. They also have a good selection of gently used clothes, shoes, and bags. Kind people behind the counter. Just a wonderful place all round. I hope this store stays for a long time to come!”

“This place has been absolutely outstanding when it comes to tailoring my clothes! I have taken a countless amount of clothes specifically pants here to get hemmed in length and to adjust waist size. All I can say is that every pair comes out perfect! If you want high quality hemming for your clothes at a great price I highly recommend Mr. Lee's!! Edit: I forgot I left a review for Lee's co a couple days ago already but I will leave this second review up cause this place is that good!! I just picked up 4 pants today length was perfectly hemmed and the waist perfectly fit me! The hemming and stitching is so high quality you can't even tell it was hemmed! I am honestly so impressed!”

I inquiries like "where did you get your skirt/top/sweatshirt/tee?" I love getting custom designs on cute little bags. How do I scratch that itch? I shop at Threadz!”
