“This is a fantastic place to stay in Pacific Grove, which is within walking distance of Monterey. The rooms are spacious and the staff is friendly and there is free coffee every morning.”
“We were offered an early check-in with a simple text, greeted warmly and given a tour on the spot. Everything was super comfy and cozy. Weather was perfect for a light fan but a heater was easily accessible in the event it wasn't. The home was very quiet and all of the staff were extremely polite, will definitely recommend and have to return.”

“Excellent location. Within very short walking distance to a couple of great restaurants (Fandango and La Mia Cucina Ristorante). Cozy rooms. We often try to get the room with it's own outside/street entrance and porch with a swing, but had a second floor room with a small balcony this last time. It was really nice. Breakfast was great each morning and they offer wine, cheese, and cookies from 4-6pm. I hope I got those times right. Very nice place to stay.”
“We had a great stay in the one bedroom suite. The pull out couch is comfortable. The bedroom bed is a queen.
It has a fireplace and a carport for the car.
Laundry was next door for $1,50 wash and $1 dry. Quarters available in lobby. They provide tide pods. It has a kitchen with full size fridge and freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, popcorn popper, electric can open, stove, oven, stove kettle, dishes, salt and pepper. Our housekeeper did the dishes each day.
Breakfast is hard boiled eggs, scones, bagels, muffins, apples, bananas, waffles, tea, and coffee. Happy hour wine is provided 5-7pm.
The owner is on-site. The staff is great!
You can walk to the beach. There is a fish restaurant to walk to. I saw deer along my walk. There are two hot tubs.
Property is quiet.
I recommend staying here.
We met guests who are repeat visitors.”

“Green Gables is our favorite place to stay in Pacific Grove. Right on the ocean, great views, great 'feel', and great service. We love the patio room upstairs with a fantastic view and comfortable space. We enjoy the full breakfast and wine-and-appetizers in the evening. It is walking distance from nice restaurants and hangout spots, and right near the coastal bike/walking path.”
“Ok. It's old. We've grown old with it, as have our kids and grandchild. There's no fridge. There's an ice machine. Bring an ice chest. Use the $100's you'll save on some ice. Out of 30 yrs, I've been warm once in the room. They've given us a space heater before the heaters were lit. You get where I'm going. Stay and enjoy the views, the access to walk across the street and be on trails for hours, free parking without tipping for valet every time you want your car....it's not the Plaza or a spa retreat and they've never failed to tell you that when you book. Yep, it can be noisy too...between the crashing waves and best sleep of your life, if you've played hard enough. Please don't ruin it for the rest of us. Book elsewhere because the people who work here are kind, care and the maids work hard with what they have. I hope they keep the place up, keeping it clean, comfortable, low key and affordable.”
“My sister and I stayed here and had such a great experience! The room was clean, with a great location right across from Asilomar State Beach. It's a good price and they are dog friendly so we got to bring her dog no problem. The front desk associates were so friendly and helpful - great customer service! Will definitely come stay again!”
“Stayed in the Deluxe king Suite, kitchen was well stocked, and the pullout bed was much better than expected. The fireplaces were great for relaxing in the rooms after a long day of exploring. We felt it was well worth the cost of the room.
The pool and hotub were well maintained. The breakfast was great and had lots of options and fresh coffee.
The staff were quick to see to any of our needs. We will be coming back again!”

“Only thing that we, we and the entire motel was unhappy with, to my knowledge, was the security alarms going off for 20 minutes very loudly for no reason around 9 o'clock at night. And we weren't even offered a discount. This apparently happened the night before also, but at 1 A.M.”
“The rooms were super clean and well kept! The front desk was awesome! Definitely staying here again!! Super close to Monterey bay aquarium and cannery row but also not far from the 17 mile drive! Very quiet and less busy area which is super nice for staying in a hotel! But not far from everywhere else! Definitely our new go to!”
“This place is quite and relaxing.. stayed mon-fri and it was nice. Was a little surprised that there is no a/c but at night it was cool but we bought a fan just in case. Front desk people were nice and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and you can't feel your partner get up except when the metal frame makes a little noise. Definitely recommend staying here and I definitely will be returning.”

“This is a true diamond! Such a cute room with a fireplace, fridge, coffee maker, micro, sink, jacuzzi in the room! Cable TV, great bed, nice natural lighting. Very accommodating when I arrived a little late (thank you). Affordable rate, right up the street from Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove golf courses.”

“This is a wonderful place to unwind. I have been coming here since the 1990s, first alone for conferences, then later w family to relax. Large campus, basically nothing happens here; time sort of stands still here. Pacific ocean across and lots of nature paths nearby to walk around. 17-mike drive is pleasant to drive thru, atleast parts of it. Monterey bay aquarium is a must visit place and so is the 4-hour whale watch trip into the ocean.. Nature/people at its best here. Well maintained, but then it costs a lot to make it all look good. You begin to get a good feeling about yourself here. Friendly people, since I have hardly seen any locals.”

“Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Lady on the desk was a little short with us and not the most welcoming after a long drive, but overall was a pleasant stay. Close to 17 mile Drive and Pacific Grove shops / restaurants. Breakfast was limited but nice. A little expensive for a basic motel, but a decent place.”

“Cute hotel most have ocean views but the ocean is literally steps away but you can't hear waves. There are no blackout curtains and it is near a busy street so you'll hear cars all the time unless you close window. The bed was not comfortable but the pillows were.
Tub and toilet in same room. The sink is very low in the bedroom and there is a cute chair they put we used to brush our teeth and get ready in the morning.
We saw deer from our window in the evening. Everything nearby closes early. Overall great location to beach.”

“We stayed at Sunset Inn for Monterey Car Week, and would highly recommend it. The standard of service is well above their competition, and the quality of the facility was excellent. Our room was in top shape, with attention to detail in every area. We enjoy the beautiful location near Asilomar Beach, which was quiet throughout the evening (unlike some other areas during this week). They even upgraded us to a larger room after the first night when one became available, without us asking - much appreciated!”
