“this "hotel", which both is and isn't is of that rare breed of lodging that makes one feel at home. literally.if you have ever had the occasion and opportunity to be a guest in a better home, The Lodge at Pebble Beach will remind you of that kind of experience.every interaction with staff gave one the feeling they were being attended to by an old family equerry. there was nothing corporate about the experience. at no time did i feel i was being subjected to some "standard operating procedure" or employee's manual.the rooms, even the modest ones, are palatial, for what they are. high ceiling and sprawling floorspace make for an en-suite guestroom in a mansion, sort of vibe.room service. the food arrived hot, even though the kitchen was a few hundred yards away and it was raining, cold and windy.the concierge. a more affable exchange can not be had.the bar. i asked that the bartender prepare an obnoxiously off-the-menu cocktail and he did it, without thinking about it. without hesitation. and not with any complaining or exasperated vibe, either.the people at the front desk kind of put you in the mind of a fuzzy episode of the TV Series "Hotel" in the way they tendered the keenest and intentional care to every word that comes from your mouth.at every turn i was confronted with nicety, service, and warmth.i'll be back.thank you, Lodge!”

“We stayed at Sunset Inn for Monterey Car Week, and would highly recommend it. The standard of service is well above their competition, and the quality of the facility was excellent. Our room was in top shape, with attention to detail in every area. We enjoy the beautiful location near Asilomar Beach, which was quiet throughout the evening (unlike some other areas during this week). They even upgraded us to a larger room after the first night when one became available, without us asking - much appreciated!”
“The location is great, beautiful grounds, nice ambiance inside the hotel. Our thermostat didn't work, no fan in the bathroom, beds were too soft. TV was outdated and slow- not a good UI- hard to connect. No USBC outlets. Getting to the spa was a trek. The hotel has multiple buildings and sort of a maze of passages. The service was good however, especially housekeeping did a nice job. It didn't seem quite worth the money and there were some basic amenities missing”

“My daughter and I stayed two nights (not long enough). The Inn is so beautiful and our room was so comfortable and lovely. The grounds are beautiful and Martha was so wonderful with check-in and breakfast. We recommend breakfast in the beautiful dining room with delicious food and fireplace. In the afternoon wine and cheese is served in the living room area also with a fireplace on. We will always stay here from now on.”

“My wife and I started lodging here about 3-4 years ago and fell in love with the location. We've received exemplary service at every level and truly enjoy the amenities available to the guests.
We now feel like family and planned our stays for 2026 for celebration and relaxation.
It's no surprise that The Quail Lodge has been voted Number-1 in the industry.
I want to especially recognize Melissa, and the other young ladies that manage the front desk. I applaud all the hard working staff that take care of the property, restaurant, housekeeping, and overall maintenance.
We live in Penryn,CA and this has become our (in state) getaway location.

“Very friendly front desk attendant. This location is perfect for seeing Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur, and Pebble beach. We were able to park our car right in front of our room. It was super quiet at night. Great rate. We appreciated that the room had a small refrigerator and a microwave. The beds are super comfy, and the room is extra large. We would definitely return!”
“We were offered an early check-in with a simple text, greeted warmly and given a tour on the spot. Everything was super comfy and cozy. Weather was perfect for a light fan but a heater was easily accessible in the event it wasn't. The home was very quiet and all of the staff were extremely polite, will definitely recommend and have to return.”
“The staff was wonderful, and the grounds were beautiful. One complaint is that I like my coffee in the morning in my room, either through room service or delivery. This general service is missing to make a complete list of services; I don't need room service other than just coffee.
The room was very cluttered, and there was a randomly placed sofa that was not in line with the TV. The fireplace was very nice in the room and made for a great evening.”

“Excellent location. Within very short walking distance to a couple of great restaurants (Fandango and La Mia Cucina Ristorante). Cozy rooms. We often try to get the room with it's own outside/street entrance and porch with a swing, but had a second floor room with a small balcony this last time. It was really nice. Breakfast was great each morning and they offer wine, cheese, and cookies from 4-6pm. I hope I got those times right. Very nice place to stay.”

“Accommodations were great. Staff were friendly. The main street is a little loud. However, if you aren't sensitive to noise or have a room away from the street you should be good. The room I was in was great. Has historic vibes with modern furniture. Morning breakfast is basic and has food sensitivity options available. Walkable to Cannery Row and have a few thrift shops.”

“We had a great stay in the one bedroom suite. The pull out couch is comfortable. The bedroom bed is a queen.
It has a fireplace and a carport for the car.
Laundry was next door for $1,50 wash and $1 dry. Quarters available in lobby. They provide tide pods. It has a kitchen with full size fridge and freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, popcorn popper, electric can open, stove, oven, stove kettle, dishes, salt and pepper. Our housekeeper did the dishes each day.
Breakfast is hard boiled eggs, scones, bagels, muffins, apples, bananas, waffles, tea, and coffee. Happy hour wine is provided 5-7pm.
The owner is on-site. The staff is great!
You can walk to the beach. There is a fish restaurant to walk to. I saw deer along my walk. There are two hot tubs.
Property is quiet.
I recommend staying here.
We met guests who are repeat visitors.”

“Location, location, location. Best one in Monterey. First, we were welcomed charcuterie fruits, cheese, chocolate and champagne! The hotel is walking distance to everywhere and we never took our car out. We took Lyft once to a restaurant that was 6 miles away. First night we had a few drinks at the bar. Service was great from Ricky. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning open at 6:30-11 am. We wanted local coffee and simply walked 1/2 a block. The Wells Fargo Bank was also right there the next block. Staff are super friendly and we had a nice corner room with a view of the Marina thanks to Irma. The hotel is due to for a remodel as the bathroom were a little older. The room decor was simple and beds were comfortable. I did love the cotton light robes and slippers they provide and oversized bath towels. Thank you for a great stay!”

“Second time I'm staying at this hotel, just as good as the last time. Excellent service, terrific location, near the water, and within one mile walking distance of Cannery Row. And it's a very pleasant walk with lots to see and explore. Rooms are spacious, the only criticism is the hotel is so large it is easy to get a little lost finding your room. And the parking garage is separate from the hotel. But minor inconveniences for a quality hotel.”

“Truly a first class resort! Our family used to come here every year with friends of ours. And then COVID hit. This year, we decided to come back. We discovered that they had just completed a multi-million dollar renovation to their family friendly River Ranch, so we couldn't wait to check it out (and it didn't disappoint). There is something for everyone! My husband and son golfed, our kids swam, we played bocce ball, and I went to the spa. We left relaxed, not like we needed a vacation from our vacation (like we sometimes do). We can't wait to come back!”

“My family and I were here on a 7-day vacation to the area. We had a nice view of the ocean. We could also watch the people paragliding on the beach. Rooms were great. All the benefits of home comforts. Everything you need to make meals if you want. It's better than a hotel. Would suggest they upgrade dishwashers, but they got the job done. Staff is ready to address any issue. Nice amenities of hosting bon fires. Get there early to get a chair. We would stay here again.”

“My boyfriend and I just finished our second time staying at Padre Oaks inn this past weekend. We stayed before end of December 2024 and then again for May 2025. My boyfriend and I don’t get to go out on trips a lot so we rarely get to stay in hotels/inns but we have found to love Padre Oaks inn. It’s affordable, super clean, you always see staff with cleaning carts outside and I’ve never had any issues with booking our rooms or with cleanliness so we sleep in peace. It’s also literally down the street from an outdoor mall and movie theatre and 15 mins away or less from downtown Carmel, 17 mile drive, and Monterrey bay aquarium ( a lot closer than 15 mins actually ) so it’s super convenient. We’re already planning to come back and stay at Padre Oaks end of July or early August. Rooms come standard with microwave, mini fridge, free wi-fi, and free parking. There’s also an ice dispenser right across from the hotel check in area. 10/10 recommend.”

“Green Gables is our favorite place to stay in Pacific Grove. Right on the ocean, great views, great 'feel', and great service. We love the patio room upstairs with a fantastic view and comfortable space. We enjoy the full breakfast and wine-and-appetizers in the evening. It is walking distance from nice restaurants and hangout spots, and right near the coastal bike/walking path.”

“Amazing event space for the Monterey County Boy & Girls Club - Comics for Kids event. A first rate event. The food was amazing. Braised short ribs were freaking amazing. I really enjoyed the pre=reception area with complementary wine and light appetizers, that include a meat and cheese display and also an ahi-tuna bit that was excellent as well. A wonderful event space for any organization and/or corporate event to showcase their company.”
