“First of all, I rarely write reviews unless it's for a very positive or negative experience. Luckily here, it was a very positive one. I was here with my son for a local Ice Hockey tournament at Poway Ice Center - which was very close by. I'm a Hilton Diamond member - usually that doesn't mean much especially at a Hampton Inn. But there were 2 huge benefits for me at this stay. First, they gave me an upgraded "suite" room - which helped tremendously where quite a few of the kids in our team could gather and enjoy some time together. It wasn't a separate sleeping vs living room - just 1 big space - but still quite good.Second, they gave me a 4:00pm late checkout! This helped a lot since my son could come back and take a shower after his hockey game on the last day before the late night flight. Some other positives - I really liked the room layout (my suite) - which had a separate bar sink and microwave in the room. I heard that all the normal 2-queen rooms also have the microwave too (the single king ones don't). The pool was nice and heated. And the breakfast was a decent selection.Lastly - this is something I've never seen at any other hotels - as I walked through the lobby once - I saw a bunch of hotel workers having a meeting and talking about the importance of customer service - it fit quite nicely with the overall experience I had (the upgraded room and late checkout). So appreciate that.”

“Before attending the Gaslamp Bartending School I knew next to nothing about making a drink or even what was in the drinks that I ordered. I now have the confidence and knowledge to jump behind a bar and start growing in the industry! Huge thanks to Nino and Eli!”

“Absolutely mind blowing good food, and service that was excellent. My literal only complaint is that the booth we were sat in was rather cramped for 4 people. Aside from that, probably the best restaurant experience I have ever had.Dietary restrictions: Lots of diabetic-friendly entree options.”

“I did a wine tour recently on January 27th and Bernardo Winery was my first stop. I let them know in advance I was coming and they said absolutely you and your group can come on by. We sat in the inside wine area has the outside was full. There was a lot of seeding so it was great for my group. We had 16 to 18 of us. The whole property is amazing with all the little shops. This is my second time at this Winery and I wanted to go check out the shops but again time just slipped away from me. I definitely will be coming back again though. Several of my friends got food and it all looked delicious. Also the prices on the wine cannot be beat. It's about $15 a glass and then bottles start at $32. So do yourself a favor and just go for that bottle. It was fantastic seeing that their bottles did not start at $60 plus like a lot of wineries in the area do. My friends all told me this was their favorite stop on my wine tour. The staff was an absolute Delight.”

“My girlfriend and I came here on a whim. She was fascinated by the whole concept of axe throwing, while I was a bit skeptical. I must admit that we had an absolute blast! Our axe coach, Xander, was amazing. Not only is he highly skilled, he's very patient and encouraging for new throwers. Within fifteen minutes, we were throwing axes and hitting our targets like champs. As an aside, you can also get training on throwing knives and screwdrivers. I know it sounds insane but I actually saw Xander hit a bullseye from seven or eight yards out...throwing a *screwdriver.* The dude's legit -- like Jason Bourne or something. We left with a huge appreciation for throwing and will definitely be back.”

“This place is hoppin! Monday nights are a great night to come here and learn to line dance, or just watch all the beautiful people line dance. The crowd was mixed with young people and their parents ( I think) I know I look like someone's parent. My kid would never be seen with me here, but anyway. I had an imperial stout and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I used to be a stout/porter/dark beer girl. Ok, I was a beer babe back in the day. But nowadays, I only drink tequila or seltzers for the carb savings. On this Monday, I chose to break my new pattern and enjoy one of my old favorites. The Imperial stout had good carbonation, was full flavored but not over powering or bitter. It was excellent if I might say. I saw that they have events every night of the week, and this place is very popular, trendy, and happening for a SANTEE establishment.”

“This place needs to change their status from "temporary closed" to "by appointment only". I sent a message via their website and was welcomed in for an awesome private tasting!Brian was amazing and set us up with flights of all their big sellers in addition to some secret cherry magic. My buddy and I talked his ear off and had the best time. I left with 8) 4 packs, 4) glasses and a couple openers. I could not help myself, everything was SO DELICIOUS.Top quality cider is rare and this is worth every penny. My first attraction was that I'm a proud Guthrie (maiden name) and us Scots know about drinking. Next time I hope to see more kilts.Absolutely recommend!”

“Whenever we go to San Diego and have the opportunity we visit white la s. For us, the exercise of trying the same style of beer with two different yeasts is very interesting. On this occasion we also needed some raw material and the guy who served us at the bar was very kind and saw a way to fill our order at once. A person from the warehouse came and in a matter of minutes opened the account for us as customers and gave us what we were looking for.”

“We joined Santaluz really not knowing what to expect. My wife and I are not 'country club' type people. We liked the looks of the club and the people we met. That was just the beginning. Our family (2 young daughters and us) have met lifelong friends here. The restaurants, service, pool, racquet sports are all awesome (we don't play golf so not sure about that!).In particular, the pickleball program is amazing. Victor is the Pickleball Pro at the club and he is extremely knowledgable and willing to help anybody at any level. If you are considering joining a club in the area, we highly recommend Santaluz”

The staff's warmth and expertise elevated every sip, making the experience truly delightful. I left feeling thoroughly content and happy. And let's talk about that view--breathtaking doesn't even begin to cover it! A truly wonderful day in every way possible.”

“Stepping Onto Phil Mickelson's Turf: A Review of Del Mar Country ClubNestled amidst the rolling hills of Del Mar, California, lies Del Mar Country Club, a golf paradise that wouldn't feel out of place in Phil Mickelson's trophy room. As one of the club's esteemed members, Lefty himself has graced these fairways countless times, leaving his legacy etched in every birdie and every epic sand save. But is Del Mar simply a playground for golf royalty, or does it hold charm for mere mortals like us? Let's tee off and find out.First Impressions: The moment you drive through the gates of Del Mar Country Club, you're transported to a world of manicured greens, shimmering ponds, and ocean vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see. The Spanish Colonial clubhouse, reminiscent of a hacienda estate, exudes an air of timeless elegance, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.Fairways Fit for a Champion: The 18-hole championship course, designed by the legendary William F. Bell, is a masterpiece of strategic design. Rolling hills, cunningly placed bunkers, and undulating greens challenge golfers of all skill levels, while breathtaking ocean views from every hole provide a constant source of inspiration (and, perhaps, a little intimidation).Beyond the Green: But Del Mar isn't just about chasing birdies. The club boasts a plethora of amenities to keep everyone entertained, including:Sparkling swimming pool and jacuzzi: Take a refreshing dip after a hot round or simply soak up the California sun.Tennis courts: Challenge your friends to a friendly match on the club's pristine clay courts.State-of-the-art fitness center: Stay in shape with the latest equipment and expert trainers.Fine dining: The club's restaurants offer delectable menus featuring fresh, local ingredients, with stunning views as the perfect accompaniment.Vibrant social scene: From member events to casual gatherings, Del Mar fosters a warm and welcoming community where you can connect with fellow golf enthusiasts. The Lefty Effect: Of course, being Phil Mickelson's home club adds a certain mystique to Del Mar. Walking the same fairways as one of golf's greatest legends gives your game a touch of magic, even if your swing is more reminiscent of a windmill than a graceful arc. You might not be sinking eagle putts like Lefty, but you'll still feel the thrill of playing on a course that's hosted some of the game's most iconic moments. The Verdict: Del Mar Country Club is more than just a golf course; it's an escape, a playground for the senses, and a chance to step into the world of golfing royalty. The immaculate course, world-class amenities, and captivating ocean views make it a true golfer's paradise. While the hefty membership fees might be a hurdle for some, the experience undoubtedly justifies the cost for those who can afford it. So, whether you're a seasoned golfer aiming to channel your inner Mickelson or simply seeking a luxurious escape, Del Mar Country Club is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience.Final Rating: 5 out of 5 stars”

“My family and I really enjoyed our stay here during the summer. This is a great place to stay while visiting San Diego especially if you have kids! Fast, friendly customer service at check in. Parking was $30/day and there was plenty of spots available. Microwave and mini refrigerator provided in each room which was perfect for us. Beautiful location. Plenty of activities during the summer for kids. They have two pools available for guests to enjoy and show movies nightly at the tropical pool. We already booked our next stay for our trip in February. Can't wait to return and make new memories!”

“The bistro is everything I would want in a perfect coffee shop (outdoor outlets, fast Wifi, dog-friendly patio) plus the things you can't get in a typical coffee shop (outdoor fireplace seating, prime rib on Fridays). It's a privilege to live here and be treated so kindly by the professional and happy staff.Kudos to the staff and management.”

“I cannot say enough about the professionalism and the staff at the lab. We put them to the test. The Centinel Spine meeting continued to grow and change throughout the contracting to the meeting implementation. They did not have a miss. The group was very accommodating with every ask that was made of them, and there were many. The food truck service was amazing and the food was over the top. We utilized their outdoor patio space which was a welcome relief to being in the lab all day. San Diego weather did not disappoint. The sound of freedom flying overhead was a spectacular addition without the charge. We will be back! Thank you Melissa, Karen, Brooke and Amy”

“The name of the Restaurant is Sufi which is a name with a long history in the Muslim World. This is quite a place as they feature live entertainment such as Belly Dancers and others. The Restaurant is set up for "Family Style Seating" as there are long tables where many people can sit. Next door is their own Grocery Store called The International Market with a full range of Mediterranean items as well as Halal Meats and a fully staffed Bakery. If go to the back of Grocery Store you can order Menu Items from Sufi and use the small "Dining Area" ...I usually get a "Take -Out Order" from the Market and when I have guests we go to the Sufi Restaurant. I think that the food is absolutely delicious and I have never been disappointed!! Also, excellent service and the Naan Bread fresh made from the Bakery is incredible! I highly recommend this place!Vegetarian options: I personally like the Lamp Kabob with Hummus and Basmati Saffron Rice platter. But for a vegetarian try the Falafels..with Tahini Sauce...MMM ? Delicious!!Parking: There are several shops in the area so the parking lot is very large. However if you are there some nights that are considered as "favorites" you may have to find a spot.”

“Food was very good, skillfully prepared. Service was excellent.Make sure you have the time for this one because it isn't "wham-bam here's your food" dining.Parking: Rainy? Park toward the West side of the lot, less puddles to jump over.”

“The location was in close proximity of everything I did while in San Diego, CA. The young lady who was working for my check-in needs people skills! Nasty attitude! The place is under construction. Initially there was no signage until we had to complain. Point of entry was the side door.Overall the hotel was great! The other employees were friendly and professional.”

“I stayed here while traveling for work. Couldn't beat the convenience, less than a mile from the office. Typical small suite with small kitchen, TV and couch area, and a bedroom and bathroom. Room was decent, I understand they will be remodeling soon. Staff at the desk was friendly, nice and helpful. The highlight was the lady who set up and took care of the breakfast area. She was super nice, always said good morning and just made my morning better. I was disappointed that I was there for a week and there was no service given for the room at all. I had to go to the desk for clean towels and toilet paper. The note at check in said to put garbage outside your door for pick up. There seemed to always be some kind of food left in the hall, but it did get picked up. Also, they charge $10 a day to park in the parking lot.Rooms: Rooms were decent, bed was comfortable. The furniture seemed a little worn, but my understanding is that the hotel was purchased not too long ago and is going to be updated.Walkability: I did see a lot of people walking or walking their dogs around the area. There is a mile or longer loop with sidewalk.Food & drinks: There are some restaurants near by as well as a Costco about a block away and many more food places within a mile or two. They offer breakfast which I did use a couple of times, pancakes, sausage, potatoes, tortilla station as well as all the other continental breakfast options.”

“This course is just down the street from me so I visit often. I am new to golf and I feel that this course is challenging yet still playable. The course is maintained well enough that I only lose balls because of my awful swing, and not because I lost it in the fairway. The greens roll well and they have a good pin rotation so divots have adequate time to recover. The ground keepers are always hard at work and I thank them for giving me the best chance to bring my score down. There is a driving range to get some practice shots in. I haven't visited it in a while, but it wasn't the prettiest range I've seen. However if you just need to hit some balls in an empty field, there are some mats, plastic tees , and a ball vending machine that accepts NFC payments waiting for you!The only time I've had a problem with a person was another golfer throwing a tantrum on hole 10. The staff, from the pro shop, course Marshall, groundskeepers, and snack cart attendant, have always been kind and welcoming.I always look forward to playing golf here!P.S. I guess one downside is that tee times are only 9 min apart. So if it gets busy, it really backs up. I'd call or check online ahead of time!”
