“My wife and I stayed here for a weekend. Upon arrival, the valet staff and receptionist were attentive and inviting (there is also charging for electric vehicles). We stayed in one of their bungalows which had a soaking tub and a backyard with a fireplace. The room was refreshing and clean throughout. We went to Lilians for breakfast and dinner and the food/service was fantastic. I would recommend booking an appointment at their spa as the signature massage was relaxing. The landscaping, architecture, and vintage pieces throughout was flawless and I would not hesitate to visit again, my wife and I had a great experience!”

“I stayed at The Lodge in early 2023. Its been a year since, and it would be a great injustice if I did not mention Mara, who was extremely helpful during my stay there. It is probably one of the main reasons I would consider staying at the lodge again. Thanks Mara!Nearby activities: Golf”

“I celebrated my 25th birthday solo at the Fairmont. Before the trip, I sent various email communications to the Fairmont concierge, and each time they referred to me as “Mr.” I replied to each email, making it clear that I was “Ms.” In this day and age, a woman with a unisex name should not be that confusing.I asked time to reserve some spa time and was told the spa would reach out with availability. Then the concierge reached out again, calling me Mr. and asked if I wanted a female or male masseuse. I said female, and signed as Ms. The concierge replied with Okay, I will pass it along and then called me Mr. again. The spa never reached out with availability. While this encounter was incredibly grating, I tried not to let it sour my birthday trip.I specifically asked for early check in and was told yes. Then when I arrived on the day of check in, I had to wait hours to be checked in. I arrived in the morning at 11 am and did not receive a room until 4 pm, which meant I had to cancel an entire day of plans. After I finally received a room, I figured my luggage would already be there, but they were not. I called the front desk to have my luggage carried down. 30 minutes later, they finally showed. Before the trip, I explained that I was celebrating a birthday, but there was no zero acknowledgment of my birthday the entire trip.I could not make dinner reservations since my day was so delayed, so I ordered room service. When they answered the phone, they asked “is this for two? Will your husband be joining?” This was baffling. I was on a solo trip. I arrived alone. I was rooming alone. What husband? It was bizarre. The entire trip, the few occasions I called the front desk or room service, they asked about an imaginary husband I do not have.Perhaps I did not understand their joke. The equestrian centre was closed, which is unfortunate as I I was really looking forward to that.Spiders. I kept finding spiders in the bathroom, in the tub, on the beside table. I’ve attached a photo of one on the bathroom ceiling for reference. On the last day after at a week at Fairmont, I asked for assistance bringing my luggage up. It took so long, I decided to bring my own luggage up, and then someone met me by the elevator to assist. They did not even help load my luggage into the car as I was leaving.I booked with AMEX, and received a letter at the beginning of my stay that outlined the benefits, which includes complimentary breakfast for two every morning, however, I was charged for breakfast. I was so over the entire ordeal that I never even bothered arguing the charge. I just wanted to forget the entire week. It’s not at all how I wanted to spend my 25th. It’s an absolute shame I traveled across the country for an experience such as this. But perhaps I should have had more foresight about how the experience would go considering the email correspondences we exchanged prior to the trip.I give it two stars for the location and the safety.”

“Love the location. The room was cute and wonderfully decorated and had all the essential amenities. Loved the bed! Would like to have a longer stay than our one night.Awesome fire pit area and garden. We loved our balcony and opening our sliding glass doors (until our neighbors shared their smoking with us ).Because this is a bed and breakfast my rating is four stars. I would prefer to make my own breakfast next time. But love the concept of using ingredients fresh from their garden. We will be back to give it another and longer try.”

“My husband and I had an ABSOLUTELY delightful experience at this hotel. We arrived a bit early and Angel at the front desk was so accommodating. To make the trip even better, we were acquainted with Jaime and Nate at the bar that are friendly, welcoming, and a lovely fit for the vibe of this hotel. They deserve a ton of props as they are the reason we will be coming back to stay regularly.”

“We stayed overnight at the Comfort Inn on our trip to visit the San Diego Zoo Safari in December 2023. Our experience at the hotel was very pleasant. Our two rooms both had modern A/C and heating from a "mini-split" system with remote controls. It was very effective. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The person at the front desk was very helpful when we had questions about the area. The breakfast was good. We really had no complaints.”

“I can't say enough good things about the hotel. I had an issue with my room and Sabrina at the front desk was amazing. The managers Stephanie and Rebecca were outstanding. I've never seen a response like this. The staff are always smiling and the front desk greets you coming or going. The location is primo!! The spa is great! The property is spotless. Bring your bike to head out to Oceanside or LaJolla - ur choice. Coffee shops and boutiques walking distance. I will always stay here when in the area. Thanks Alila for an outstanding experience!!!!”

“Unexpectedly one of the most charming stays we had in socal. Since my parents were celebrating their anniversary, we were met w the most beautiful and thoughtful welcome swans and gift basket (with snacks instead of wine since we let them know we don't drink alcohol). It was one of my parents' favorite stays and truly made them feel cared about. The staff was absolutely warm and caring and we really enjoyed our stay. An added plus was the cute and friendly robot that brought us toiletries that we forgot. Breakfast was hot and fairly good as well. Rooms were very clean.Loved our stay and would definitely recommend”

“I stayed at this hotel during a recent business trip and was very impressed by the experience. This is a brand new hotel and it definitely shows. Clean lobby, breakfast area, and hotel room. Free breakfast in the morning with all of your breakfast essentials, including a make-your-own Belgian waffle station. Dinner and happy hour is also served at the bar area.I did not bring my pet with me, but a great bonus is that the hotel is pet friendly! Parking is also free for guests. My nightly rate was about $150/night, which is a steal considering the area. I would definitely come back.”

“Great rooms, exceptional for the price. Clean, really nice, European style bathrooms. Bed and bedding were great. Superior AC. Thought put into small stuff. Access to the beach and other parts of Del Mar downtown were easy peasy! Only stayed one night though. Thank you. ✌????”

“I spent every Friday night at a bonfire on Moonlight Beach during my childhood. My mother recently passed and I said my goodbyes to her overlooking the beach. It truly is and was our families little slice of heaven!”

“GREAT location walking distance to the beach along the cliffs at Del Mar + one complementary electric vehicle charging station in the hotel parking lot. Hotel has been here for years and it's been periodically updated, is clean and well maintained. Priced comparable to hotels inland so a bargain for this location. Just a few blocks walk to great restaurant choices too. Plan to stay here long enough to enjoy the beautiful Del Mar beaches just a short walk away.”

“Friendly staff. Clean facility and beautifully located! Our one bedroom facility was spacious with all the amenities. We were close to everything. All restaurants and bars we visited exceeded our expectations! We will definitely go again!”

“No real blanket on the bed, just this weird quilted thing that only covered to the edges of the bed, with just a thin sheet skirting over the edges that didn't cover 2 people in the bed. Plus a really heavy coverlet that was constantly sliding off. On a busy road, but road noise was low on the courtyard. Could not hear the rooms next to us, but could hear doors closing across the hall, and yappy dogs. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful but meh and not enough seating.Walkability: None. Must drive if you go out.Food & drinks: Breakfast was plentiful, but mediocre, especially if you want protein.”

It was the adult pool area. It felt intimate but very relaxing.Food & drinks: There was pool side menu with cocktails. I had a cold beer.”

“Location is excellent. The bathroom needs drinking cups and extra toilet paper. It would be nice to have in-room coffee. The coffee maker in the registration room is excellent, but can become a long wait for my turn.It would be nice to have a clock in the room.”

“We had a wonderful two-night stay. The staff is very friendly and the rate was fair. The room was spacious and kitchenette was perfect. The bed was comfortable. The hot tub is gone; if you see it in photos it’s because they’re old. The outdoor pool is great, though, and it’s heated.”

“After spending nine months on the road working moving from hotel to hotel, what a nice surprise this location is. Super welcoming and helpful staff, perfect location in America’s Finest City, and great accommodations. Can’t beat the price either, hot breakfast for free too.Safety: Literally one of the safest areas in the United States.”

“We stayed at West Inn & Suites two times in December, a three night and a four night stay. Fantastic little gem in Carlsbad, CA. The staff were very professional and courteous, the rooms (we had a premier king suite 445 sf) were very large, clean and well kept. The rugs and couch could use some updating but overall very happy. Our only complaint was the very heavy perfume smell in the lobby. I believe it was for the holidays (I hope) so hopefully that won't be an issue going forward.Highly recommend this hotel.”

“This hotel was a wonderful blend of quirky, artistic, and unique! My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in April, and Les Artistes was part of what made the experience so incredible! Watching the sun rise and set on the ocean from our french doors was beautiful! If you want something a bit magical and out of the ordinary, then this is for you!”

“ProsDesigned for Kids: The best part of this hotel. Totally designed for kids in everything they do. Activities in the hotel all around for kids. Activities in the room for kids. Activities at breakfast for kids. Breakfast designed for kids. This hotel is amazing for little ones. This is the most kid-friendly hotel I have come across in the USA to keep kids entertained. The kid loved the outdoor play areas in the hotel and we were very impressed by them too. The play area equipment is very high quality designed to help ensure kids don't get hurt while at play. Really appreciate the thought process and commitment to quality.Fun evening activities for kids is another plus.Appreciate the life guards at the swimming pook to ensure safety is mintained. Hot tub is great.Rooms: Rooms are fantastic. Love the separate sleeping area for kids with the Lego building board and Lego bricks. Love the low height bathtub. Exciting safe with Lego sets everyday.Breakfast/Dinner: Breakfast is very good with plenty of options for vegetarians. While the dinner menu did not have a lot of vegetarian options, the chef was great and made some great vegetarian food.ConsBreakfast Management: Despite taking reservations, reservation timings are not honored. This defeats the advantage of getting early entry to the park as all the time is spent waiting in line to be seated for breakfast despite having reservations. Reservation and non-reservation guests are placed in the same queue. Hotel and non-hotel guests are placed in the same queue. Defeats the purpose of paying a premium to stay at the hotel.Chocolate milk dispenser was not working throughout our stay for breakfast.Would have loved to see more character meet and greets inside the hotel.Swimming Pool: While they claim the swimming pool is heated, it was not heated during our stay.Value: Very good 4-Star experience and 4-stars owing to the amazing kid-friendly nature all around. For the premium being charged, the hotel needs to deliver more value and a better experience to hotel guests to make it a 5-star experience.”

“We loved our stay at the legoland hotel. location was super convenient, lots of hidden surprises around the hotel. The elevators were also a surprise and great every time. The restaurants required a reservation, but I booked breakfast everyday the first day we arrived so there wasnt an issue there. We tried both the bricks and castle restaurants for dinner both were good. Everywhere is a dance party, and the staff did events every night from bingo to dancing to story telling. It was a wonderful experience for both adults and kids alike. We ended up using valet parking because it was easy. All the models throughout the hotel were amazing. The pirate ship play area was perfect to spend time in before the park opened. Our kids completed the scavenger hunt the very first night and the pool is heated! but only open till 7.”

“I was so happy to see the rooms are clean, the staff was so very nice and accommodating. The room was just big enough for a family of 5 (3 young kids).Nice area and affordable and even though it's off the hwy, unless the door is open it is very quiet. This will be my permanent choice of stay when in our passing threw CA.”

“Great location. Blocks from the beach. Very helpful staff. Just wish their little market had some of the great local craft beers instead of the generic mass market ”

“Very very happy with our stay. We stayed 3 nights with 2 small children to go to Legoland. Location was great, beds were clean and acceptably comfortable, management was very polite and most of all the breakfast buffet was delicious everyday! The breakfast kitchen staff were so nice too, my kids loved the omelette so much they made extra for them even when they weren't serving them one day. Can't recommend this place highly enough if you're in the area, especially for Legoland. You'll save a lot of money and it's a nice play to stay.”
