“I really appreciate being able to shop in bulk for teas, spices, grains, nuts and beans. I can get just the amount of what I need. They also have a great selection of vegan food products like non-dairy cheese. The staff is always very helpful. Great store.”

“Came here the first time in a rush, and thought I knew what I wanted, but Sophie behind the desk understood my situation and recommended something even better. Then, I stopped by later on when I knew she was working and had a longer discussion about all the different lines of product they sell. Sophie was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, even down to specific batches. I have always loved TwisThis, but it's the people behind the counter that make this store such a gem of the Haight.”

“Discovering Maxwell's Pet Bar about a year ago has been a game-changer for our 12-year-old dog, Simon. Thanks to Jen and Kristi's expert guidance, we found the perfect raw food combination that has literally turned back the clock for him. He's more playful, enjoys his walks more, and overall, seems much younger. The transformation has been incredible to witness. I can't recommend Maxwell's Pet Bar enough. If you're looking to improve your pet's health and happiness, this is the place to start!”

“I love this grocery store. It's got everything, including a wonderful fresh fruit/vegetable section. It's the only place in the city that I've been able to find thai basil. Now that I've found this place, I'm never going back to the awful Safeway across the street.”

“I love Nabila's. The kindness of the staff and the way I'm regularly greeted stands out. It's always nice to look around and see what they have to offer. Nabila's is in my weekly rotation, and is an incredible part of Hayes Valley!”

“The variety and price of their produce never disappoints! From Gai Lan to Nopales, they’re worth a stop if you’re looking for harder to find produce. Staff are always happy to help and take requests for items to stock. Support your local grocers!”

“Raf, Bo, Kai, Lucie, Muna, Millie to name a few of the awesome workers who make Haight street a community. The people who work on deli and fish are amazing and hardworking. The sushi and sandwiches are fresh every day”

“Very grateful for having this friendly corner market in the neighborhood. Of course prices aren’t the cheapest, but that’s the price we pay for not having a food desert where real estate and base food costs are at a premium. If you want a bargain then take 2 hours out of your day to shop at Costco or Walmart.”

“very pricey but has great healthy options for grab-and-go foods (sandwiches, wraps, sushi) and basic groceries and household essentials you might need! for the ease of access to brand-name groceries in the mission, it's a good spot to check out. the staff are also very friendly!”

“Pressed Juicery is definitely the best out of all juice franchises! - quality is consistent and the portions are perfect for one person - huge variety (green juice, citrus, lemonade, shakes, wellness shots) - you can try a sample before buying - highly recommend you sign up for a membership (you can cancel it later if needed) to get 50% off your first order. Such a good deal! Shoutout to Helen who helped me out. She was so sweet!”

“Clean and brightly lit vegetarian/vegan grocery store in the Sunset. I've never seen as large of a selection of vegetarian meat substitutes elsewhere. You know when you're walking in the aisles of a traditional Asian supermarket, like 99 Ranch or the 25th Ave supermarket, and the meat substitutes make up 1-1.5 freezers worth of goods, if that? They've got multiple freezers here, from chest freezers of bulk proteins, to smaller portions of both pre-seasoned and unflavored proteins. As far as I remember, they don't have more Western foods like "chick'n nuggets" or veggie burgers. The prices are super reasonable here too! A 1lb bag of mock beef ran me around 12 bucks and can be used to make around four stir fries or a large batch of stew. They've got so many options under ten bucks so that you can substitute your usual proteins with the vegan form without significantly altering your budget. The person working there is nice and helpful as well, and speaks English. I'm so happy that they're in this area because where else can you find such a well-stocked selection?! Now you can replicate your favorite dishes at home.”

“Great Affordable Cleanse Packages!! Pressed has great options for affordable cleanse packages to suit beginners as well as those who regularly do cleanses. I got a full day cleanse for $30 with similar ingredients to the ones at Juice Shop or Raw which cost $80+!!!The staff was super helpful and advised me on picking the right cleanse package for me. They have full and half day cleanses catering to a variety of detox requirements.”

“To me this is the best Whole Foods in the city. This Whole Foods may not be the biggest but they have lots of products that other Whole Foods locations don't carry. Everyone who works here seems very helpful and nice. I was craving salad so I headed over to there salad bar. All of the salad dressing containers were full. The lettuce was fresh and so were the self serve toppings. For desert I grabbed a lemon cheese cake cookie. Yum! Try one if you can. They are located right next to the snack bar at the small cookie station. They also have a bar/restaurant downstairs so definitely check it out if you have a chance.”

“Surprised at the wide gamut of reviews here on yelp-- overall a solid 4 stars when I came by the other day. The place was closed with a "will be back in 10 min" sign, which was not a big deal. Store itself was what you'd expect. Organized, clean, and staff was pretty helpful. Got the job done, no big complaints. Only real complaint would be lack of selection -- I'm used to going to vitamin places with wall to wall selection. This place is more focused in that there is 1-2 options for whatever you are looking for. Recommend this location. Staff is helpful, and location is good being on Market.”

“Update: Lines can get long - not what it used to be pre-pandemic. Thankfully it's still open though! Previous: Great for locals and travelers. In the heart of SOMA located between Bart & Caltrain and the busyness of the city/ball park area. Lots of vegan options and ample seating areas. Great for eating and people watching! Updated from previous review on 2019-07-14”

“This review is for Jimmy at the prepared foods department of the Whole Foods on Market - his pizzas are INCREDIBLE! We actually have about 4 Whole Foods locations closer to our house but come across the city to order from Jimmy. You can tell he really cares about the quality and these pizzas are better than many restaurants charging way more. Highly recommend getting whole pizzas from Jimmy (he works Fridays-Mondays)! My personal favorite is the white pie (roasted garlic & ricotta).”

“This store felt a little small but we were able to grab the few items that we needed. Everything was very clean and nicely displayed and easy to find. I liked that they have self check out registers here and the person attending to this area will pre-set up double bags for you to load your groceries into as you ring them up, which was a nice touch. The parking lot here is pretty cramped, so plan on possibly needing to park on the street or another lot.”

“Like every grocery store in the area, it is cursed by there not being enough grocery stores for the population. Expect them to be out of one thing on your list every time you visit, last time for me it was hummus. The time before that it was chicken thighs.”

“Love this place. Reason why I make this. This individual was seen repeatedly yelling homophobic slurs at the homeless people for no reason. I know for a fact this person shops here and the store supports the LGBTQ community as well as the local homeless population. Please do the right thing and not allow him in. He's a threat to anyone who is trying to be themselves no matter the choice's they make.”
