Lucky is a grocery store that offers a variety of deals and special offers, such as weekly specials and loyalty rewards with a free Lucky You card. Customers can enjoy savings on items like milk, with promotions like buy 5 gallons and get a free gallon. The store has a large size and a wide selection of options, including some items that are hard to find elsewhere, such as dry ice and a variety of snacks. It also features a section with Krispy Kreme donuts and a fried chicken that some customers find better than popular chains like Popeyes or Safeway. However, there are some downsides. The store's layout has changed, removing the cold case between the bakery and meat sections, which has caused inconvenience. Staff availability in customer service is often limited, and there is sometimes no one available to help customers. The store can be inconsistent with stock, especially for sale items and freebies, which are sometimes unavailable or not stocked as advertised. The seafood counter is often closed, and the quality of fresh seafood can vary, making it less reliable for certain items. Customers have mixed feelings about the store’s atmosphere. Some find it clean, organized, and friendly, while others feel watched or suspicious, especially when shopping during quiet times. Prices are generally considered average, similar to Safeway, but not always the best value compared to other stores like Trader Joe’s or Gus’s. Despite these issues, Lucky remains a popular choice for those seeking deals and specific items, and many loyal customers continue to shop there despite its flaws.
Been coming here for 15 years. Most of the staff are fantastic, good selection of food, rarely too busy. Unfortunately permanently closing September 2026 because of the greedy venture capital corporate owners. Parking is not an issue anymore because they’re now towing the people abusing the free parking.
