Tell you what, the first store I tried to made the same paint was S-W also on Ocean Ave, the guy look at my photo said he can't do it without seeing my actual wall.

“When our contractor recommended picking up some items for our remodel from Chu Supplies, I initially was dubious - both of the quality of the items the store would have available and the customer service. But I was very happy to be proven wrong on both issues! First, let me help set your expectations. This isn't a big box store like Home Depot where you have easy access to resources (e.g., online guides or in-person staff) to help guide and/or make informed decisions about what to buy. If you have no idea what you need to buy, it probably will be less frustrating for everyone involved if you did some research on your own (or in consultation with your contractor) before going to the store. Having said that, Wallace and Kent at the front counters are great and super helpful! Yes, it helps if you speak Cantonese, but their English (especially Wallace's) is very good. Together, they are the perfect odd "couple" - Wallace has a more easy-going, patient vibe, while Kent is super efficient and straight-to-the-point. As far as I can tell, they carry - or at least, can order - many of the items that you can buy from a big box store for a cheaper price point. From cheaper, generic, hollow core doors to VELUX skylights to high end tankless water heaters, etc. Just keep in mind that each of their locations specialize/carry different categories of products. There may be cheaper options out there, but the combination of location, price, and return policy makes Chu Supplies an excellent choice in my book!”

“Recently I decided to do a small repair in my house by myself. I didn’t have any paints or tools and I needed to buy them. I went to ACE Hardware it’s 6122 Geary /25 Ave, I live not far from it. At the entrance to the paint department a store employee met me and asked how he could help me. I explained to him that I wanted to buy materials for a small repair. He turned out to be a good specialist in this matter, explained what paints I would need and how to use them correctly. And even approximately what quantity of which paints would be enough for me. I only chose the colors that I wanted. I bought all this and also a paint roller, brushes, sandpaper, thinner, solvent for cleaning paint defects, even protective gloves. Additionally, in another department there were some nails and screws. The seller’s name, as he said, was Arnold. He spoke with a slight accent, but everything was perfectly understandable.
In a week I did all the planned work myself, there was enough paint for everything, and there was still a little left just in case. Many thanks to Arnold and your shop. I recommend your shop to my friends. In my opinion, such workers deserve an award for professionalism and good work.

“Very good good selection of parts and pieces but fail on customer support to show one the stock you're looking for. Telling the customer, down this isles to the left, doesn't really do it. Other times, the staff walked me to the item to make acselection. Thus, spotty customer services. But very good stock, ifvyou like to pinpoint what you want by yourself.”
