“I was very thankful for the staff helping me to find an appointment so quickly. Dr. Fong explained everything very well and helped calm my fears. Taking time to explain things and give 3 different options for treatment helped me a lot in deciding what to do. I was really nervous as a first time dog owner and Dr. Fong being patient to listen to me about my worries for my dog helped a lot.”

“Very impressed with Sage. Staff that interacted with my cat and I were super caring and gentle. It's obvious they love animals and what they do.
Dr. Navneet Saini was responsive and spent a good time answeing questions and helping me choose the right plan of diagnosis for our sick cat. Her assistant tech was also wonderful. Wish I had her name to give her a shout out too.
Pricing and text system were clear.
I highly recommend SAGE.”
“Golden Gate Vet helped me through one of the most difficult days of my life with grace and compassion. My beautiful boy Charlie became unexpectedly sick and failed efforts to medically manage his condition. I made the decision to end his life while he still had some quality of life. Golden Gate Vet walked me through this decision and helped reassure me throughout. Their team member who I spoke with and guided me was Zane, who was so warm and responsive and answered all my questions. On the day, Dr. Brian Van Horn came to my home and spent time getting to know my family. Charlie’s actual death was heart-destroying but there’s no escaping that, and Dr. Van Horn deeply cared and was present with me and Charlie through everything. Golden Gate Vet also helped set up Charlie’s private cremation and removed his body from my home.
They helped me navigate the most difficult day and decision of my life, and allowed Charlie to die with dignity at home surrounded by love and warmth and treats. I’m forever indebted to them.”
“We are so grateful to Park Animal Pet Hospital. I was nervous about getting our dog neutered and they gave me excellent advice and care every step of the way. I appreciated that they checked in regularly to ensure our puppy was doing well. Everybody in the office is friendly, empathetic and efficient. I love that everything is automated.
I never feel taken advantage of and our dog, Tucker, never dreads never dreads showing up for his appointments! A heartfelt, thank you, to Park Animal Hosptial!”

“I loved this office and the staff but i must say the Vet herself is THE STAR. During the exam she gave me so many tips on things i should do for our little Missy. I was very grateful for the most complete exam Doctor did. I recommend this office fully.”
“My dog has been in the care of Avenues Pet Hospital for 3 years now. It can sometimes take a while to be seen for non-urgent stuff, such as the very first new client appointment and the annual exam, but otherwise my dog gets seen quite quickly as things come up (usually within a few days, and via email or phone when I have concerns but am not sure if they are worth an appointment). They did not allow people inside for a long while due to Covid safety restrictions, but we can now go inside to wait in the waiting room, and accompany our pets during their appointment. It seems silly for other reviews to complain about this when it was for a valid reason and not an arbitrary policy. The only times I can't accompany my dog is when he comes in for his regular nail trim and gland expression as an out-patient - this is done in the back where pet owners aren't allowed. FYI I get his nails done at the vet bc he has particularly long blood vessels / quicks in his nails, so I feel safer about it being done here, even though it's a roughly-done trim and I file them smooth at home. The vets are kind and I always feel like I'm getting their honest assessment. Front desk is also always very helpful. For reviews that mention they're rude - it can depend on the person tbh, but if anything I think some can be less warm than others, and I would *not* say at all that they've ever been rude. I think they're really busy nonstop and are doing their best to get through patients in an efficient manner -- and that can sometimes be interpreted as being a little cold, when really it's just being neutral. As a society we tend to think women are "cold" when they're not overly warm and are otherwise just being normal & neutral, yet don't think that of men doing the same. So let's check our gender bias, alright? One word of advice that I learned the hard way - most medications are substantially cheaper at Chewy or Costco, so ask them to send out the prescription! The vet office has zero problem doing that and it's never awkward. It's not a perfect system since Costco doesn't have everything, and Chewy takes some days for delivery (i.e., doesn't work for meds needed the same day). I don't say this as a knock against the hospital, as I think this is common practice for vets and helps keep the lights on. I instead say this as a heads up, because I didn't know this for the longest time.”
“Can't say enough good things about Presidio Way and their team there - they've always listened patiently and have taken great care of our family's two yorkshire terriers. Even for a routine checkup we never feel rushed and we're given ample time to ask any questions that we have.
Additional bonus - we love that they can do teeth cleaning at the clinic as well. =)”
“We've been going to S.F. Pet Hospital for more than two decades with four of our dogs plus a foster dog. Everyone is friendly and thorough and takes their time with us. But I'm writing now because yesterday Dr Leyba went above and beyond, and I'm pretty sure he saved our dog's life. River had been at the emergency vet on Fillmore for two days and nights, but he wasn't improving at home once he was released. He was getting much weaker and we were getting desperate. I called the emergency vet to say he was going downhill and ask for a new prescription but they never even called me back ( at all!). Enter S.F. Pet Hospital. Bisma took all our info and got it to Dr Leyba who read through every everything, then trouble shot with me despite his obviously very heavy work load. He was kind and thoughtful and together we came up with a course of action that resulted in a vividly improved dog this morning. Truly - our dog went from alarmingly, dangerously ill to bright eyed and hungry overnight. Without him I have no doubt he'd be back in the hospital right now. Thank God Dr Leyba at SF Pet Hospital stepped up and took over. I should add that he's not even our primary vet there! He's a hero in my book.”

“Balboa Pet Hospital is great. They were able to schedule my dog the same day after she had an injury to her tongue. They gave her a thorough exam and medications to help her pain. This vet is very reasonably priced for SF! Will be bringing her back here.”
“We've been taking our cat here for years and they've taken good care of our cat. The recommendations and advice we've received have been pragmatic and sound. When she needed dental surgery, the experience was as good as we could have hoped.”
“Dr. Chase provides the highest level of care specializing in preventative care. She cares for our pet as if it were her own. She has high expectations of her clients, but it's because she cares so much about the animals and wants them to live long, healthy lives.”

“Love! Love! Love! Love! Love! They take the BEST care of our 2 Goldens. Dr. Adam is beyond exceptional, and we could not be happier with the care our 2 girls get coming here!!!”
“We love the vets at SPCA! A vet visit is around $110. Vaccinations are around $50 each. We've had situations where something has come up with our dog and they've just advised us over the phone free of charge. They even said "You can come in and pay $160 for an urgent visit but there isn't much we can do for the condition and will just send you home." In more urgent situations, it's been easy to get a same day appointment just with calling. I also like supporting their hospital since it's a non profit and proceeds go back to helping and saving animals.”

“I'm not sure why people are so down on this place, other than the emergency vet is quite possibly one of the saddest places in the world. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had a three hour wait. Having also visited the pediatric ER at CPMC on a Sunday, I can tell you that this felt about standard. Our dog was triaged soon after we came in and deemed non-critical, so fair enough, you wait. They have tea and water for the humans, as well as wifi. The waiting area benches allow your pet to rest next to you. We saw Dr Kelly who was pleasant and helpful. FYI, the charges here start at $235 for an exam (as of the date of this review). Trips to the vet are never cheap, and well, it's the emergency vet, so what do folks expect? The facility is clean, the staff all were nice. At least on a Sunday afternoon, parking was not too challenging. Tartine Manufactory across the street provides a good place to grab a coffee or sandwich during your hour of need.”
“The Dr. was the best she made both me and my kitten Jack very comfortable. The staff was also awesome. It was an all-around pleasant experience, and I am looking forward to our next visit on the 12th. I definitely recommend it to all cat owners.”

“I've been coming to Arguello Pet Hospital for 8 or 9 years now. I feel really lucky to have them care for my dog, who actually LOVES going to the vet because of how kind and caring the doctors are there. Dr. Yeo and Dr. Nishimura are wonderful and incredibly thorough. We know that we're getting the best care at Arguello vet.”
“I went in to get a check up for my dog before an upcoming flight. We saw Dr.Amanda and she was really kind. I didn’t feel rushed and I left with all my questions answered. I would definitely request to see her again if I return for another visit.
On the other hand the front desk lady I talked to was rude. She seems like she doesn’t enjoy her job, which can be off-putting in a stressful circumstance such as the vet.
Overall one of the better vet experiences I have had.”
“This is my vet and they’ve been great for the last year!
My only complaint would be that they won’t give a vaccine without a physical, even if my cat has recently had a physical from them.”
“This vet clinic is amazing! While the parking does stink (it's SF, so that's kind of expected), the service we receive here far outweighs any difficulty in finding a spot. I will always recommend Ocean Ave Vet Hospital to all my doggie friends.”
“I have been taken my pets to Banfield pet hospital on Lombard St. In San Francisco for years the doctors and staff are amazing they take very good care of your pets The wellness plan saves you a lot of money if you haven't been there and you care a lot about your pets go there you will not regret it”
“Great vet experience. They have phenomenal hours, especially if you work during the day. We’ve been twice since we got our new pup and they have been very caring, thorough, and kind.”
“The docs and staff at Vet Vision were exceptionally good with my sometimes anxious dog. The doctors are skilled and personable and are supported by state of the art equipment. This comes at a premium cost, of course. But it’s worrisome when a loved pet develops eye problems. Vet Vision can reliably make it better.”
