“My two kids (9 year old daughter, 7 year old son) both had an amazing time at their week at Camp Couture! The first day, they came home and instantly said it was the best camp they'd been to and have to come back (and they have been to many camps!). Before, my son had only limited experience hand sewing, but learned to sew several stitches by hand and even proficiently use a sewing machine. My daughter can now independently sew complex projects on a sewing machine. They made so many, very cool projects during the week. I was blown away each day. They each made a stylish, lined hoodie and a stuffie all in just one day. Other projects included a quilt (made from my son's favorite outgrown T-shirts), a cool backpack and bag that I could totally see in a high-end store, and animal-shaped pin cushions. Each week, they have different projects to mix it up. I was impressed with how great of a teacher Alexandria was. She was patient, encouraging, and knew how to challenge and meet each student where they were. They learned so much in just one week. You can tell she puts a lot of care into the projects she designs for each kid and the individualized prep she needs to do each night for each one's level, interest, and choice of project. We're so lucky we found this camp and will definitely be returning!”

“Exceptional Service From Jacob — He Saved the Day

I want to recognize Jacob in the Men’s Suits department at Nordstrom Hillsdale Shopping Center for providing one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had.

I came into Nordstrom around 3:15 PM in an absolute rush. I was on my way to a formal wedding at San Francisco City Hall for a close friend of mine from the Marine Corps, and I had a serious problem: I had absolutely nothing to wear. No suit, no dress shoes, no belt—and very little time before I needed to be in San Francisco.

Then Jacob asked if I needed help.

The moment I explained my situation and the time crunch I was under, Jacob immediately sprang into action. He was calm, patient, polite, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional. While I was stressed and watching the clock, Jacob knew exactly what to do. He helped me select and coordinate an entire outfit and ultimately put me in the best suit I have ever worn.

What impressed me most was that Jacob never made the experience feel rushed, even though he understood that every minute mattered. He made sure everything worked together properly, helped get my pants measured and tailored to fit me, and paid attention to details I wouldn’t have even thought about in that moment.

He even made sure the tags were removed and that there were no obvious signs that I had just purchased everything, because I literally needed to walk out of Nordstrom wearing the outfit and head straight to the wedding.

I walked into that store with nothing and walked out wearing an approximately $1,500 complete outfit, ready for one of the most important formal events I have attended. I genuinely don’t believe I could have pulled this together on my own even if I had been given an entire day.

Jacob didn’t just sell me a suit. He saved the day for me. Because of him, instead of arriving at my friend’s wedding stressed, late, or improperly dressed, I was able to walk into San Francisco City Hall feeling confident and appropriately dressed for the occasion.

Jacob represents exactly what exceptional customer service is supposed to look like: professional, knowledgeable, attentive, patient, and genuinely committed to helping the customer.

To Jacob: Thank You!!! I sincerely appreciate what you did for me. You took what could have been a disaster and turned it into an experience I will remember every time I wear that suit.

They even wrapped my purchase with tissue in the bag, which was a nice touch of privacy because I was shopping with family. The dressing rooms atmosphere is luxurious. Slight ding in star ⭐️ points because there was a lot of merchandise placed in random drawers (S,M,L,XL) that should be sorted a bit better. Based on what I saw there wasn’t any time for the staff to do much else besides help customers so maybe they should consider having a few extra employees on the weekends to help with demand and keep the place in tip top shape. “I like Macy's in general, and this is one of the stores where I really enjoy shopping in. It's a smaller Macy's store but it has everything that you need and great selection. Numerous options of clothing, shoes, bags. This Macy's is part of the Hillsdale Mall and that makes it even more enjoyable when you can shop at other stores after you're done at Macy's. I especially like the jewelry department at this Macy's. I purchased unique pieces of jewelry here that I did not see at other Macy's stores. The store is well maintained and is in good shape and I hope will remain open for many many years. I don't want retail stores to go away, they are a great asset in our lives.”
