“First time I visited Wed last week and the staff are very warm and caring, all are very helpful and then I came back Fri both in the morning and afternoon and they made me felt I am one of them and treated like a member of their family - If there are 100 stars I will give it to them in a heartbeat. Love the atmosphere in this store ... all hearts to you guys!!!!”
“I stopped by this marketplace when I was in the plaza visiting another store. I was looking to get a quick bite so I thought this grocery store would have something. I found parking easily since I came in the morning and the place wasn't busy.
When I walked inside, they have the liqor on the left side of the store. The produce area is right at the entrance. I walked to the deli area on the right side of the market but I didn't see any pre packaged food. So I walked toward the back where the meat was and I didn't find anything there either. They have some fish out on the floor for customers to get themselves.
I didn't find any quick bite in the store to get so I didn't purchase anything here.”
“What a great little shop. The only other grocery in Simi I know of that at all compares is Valley Marketplace, but the selection here is much broader.
Tons of flours, masalas, snacks, and other ingredients. Additionally, there are a selection of fresh desserts and hot foods, including $1.50 samosas!
There is also a surprisingly well stocked British import selection, which is good to know if the need arises.”
“As a Korean, I am so happy to found here ! There are various stuff including Korean and Japanese food. Also as a coffee lover, i was happy to find various coffee creamer. Today, I bought pistachio coffee creamer, dark chocolate almond milk etc. I never see this type of drink so happy to try it!
I can’t wait to visit next time again!”
“Authentic Mexican food and market. One of the best kept secrets in Simi Valley, this mercado is one of my first "go-to's" when someone is in the mood for mexican food. Also, they have really good flan, burritos, and horchata.”
“The team at my neighborhood Aldi is nothing short of AMAZING. Their helpfulness and warm personalities keep me coming back time and time again. Manager Eric is incredibly sweet and always goes above and beyond to help.
There’s also a cashier—I wish I remembered his name—who is not only efficient, but absolutely hilarious and, most importantly, kind. Every time my mother visits from New Jersey, he remembers her and even brings up something from her last trip. That kind of attention to detail and genuine care is so rare.
The folks at this Aldi create such a nostalgic, heartwarming sense of community.”
“Some great deals but not always lower in price than a major chain. We do, however, shop Aldi plus a major chain and we save a good deal of money. The store is always clean and cashier is friendly.”
“Vons is an excellent grocery store with a great selection of fresh produce, meats, and bakery items. The store is always clean, well-organized, and easy to shop in. They carry both everyday essentials and specialty items, so it’s convenient to find everything you need in one place.
The staff are friendly, professional, and willing to help whenever you need assistance. Checkout is smooth, and the self-checkout lanes make shopping even faster when you’re in a hurry. Parking is also convenient and safe, which makes the whole experience stress-free.”
“Great experience! Products are well organized, shelves are always stocked, employees are kind! Richie is a funny & kind cashier. He made our experience better!”
“Everyone friendly! Helpful, patient, very knowledgeable of products, how to use, etc. Awesome custom made your way sandwiches at best price - just compare.
#1 preferred grocery store to shop. Not hi price like I presumed.”
“Great selection, clean store, well organized. Hardly ever busy. Easy to get in and out quickly if you just need to pick up an item or two. Great produce. Brand name and House brand. House brand items are good and tasty.”
“Clean, organized, well stocked, spacious, and full of friendly, helpful people. Fantastic produce and big selection, great meat department, great deli, hand made sushi, big bakery with delicious breads, and all the groceries you could want. There's a pharmacy, a flower department, and even a Starbucks.”
“Their Cherry Slushie Is Bomb For $2. Their Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia is Priceless. I Grabbed 3 $3 Scratchers(33) & 1 Hit For $50. Question? If you give a Scratcher or Lottery Ticket To A Friend and They Win, Should The Friend Reciprocate and Give?To The Person Who Gave Them The Scratcher Or Ticket?”
“When the Amazon Fresh in Moorpark closed its doors, my world collapsed. One moment I was peacefully scanning items with futuristic grocery-store wizardry, the next I was wandering the asphalt wasteland clutching my reusable bags like a survivor of some retail apocalypse. That’s how I found myself at Albertsons.
Walking in felt like entering a different timeline. No silent AI watching my every move. No gates that judge my snack choices. Just carts. Humans. Fluorescent lighting. I wept softly near the produce section.
But you know what? Albertsons held the line.
The shelves were stocked. The produce looked respectable. I located snacks, beverages, and several items I absolutely did not need but spiritually required. The bakery section radiated the comforting smell of carbs and questionable impulse decisions. Staff were friendly and did not once ask me to justify why I was holding three different flavors of ice cream while staring into the middle distance.
Checkout was… manual. Primitive, even. I had to scan items. With my hands. Like some kind of grocery archaeologist. But the process worked, and I left with food and my dignity mostly intact.
Is it the sleek cyberpunk dream that Amazon Fresh was? No.
Is it a dependable grocery stronghold in these uncertain post-Fresh times? Absolutely.
Four stars because I still occasionally look around expecting cameras to automatically charge my account.
But until the robots return, Albertsons will do.”
“Went to this store for the first time last week 🙌 great store clean vegetables were
Clean n well presented this will by a store I will use each week from on on. Also very nice customer service 👌”
“I really like this place and I rarely go to a liquor store but their prices are so good, I stop there first. Store is very clean. Staff is great too. At first I only went to buy lottery tickets but now I stop by once a month to make a purchase before I go to a party or BBQ. I have recommended this store to many people so I hope you will give it a try.”
“On my way to a gettogether at a friends house, I wanted to not come empty handed. Along my route I decided to stop by Sunflower for some supplies. With expectations low, I thought I'd walk out with some basics. To my surprise, there was quite a wide selection of local brews in the refrigerator section! Good selection from Tarantula Hill, Institution, etc. along with well known out of state breweries. IPAs galore! Did I mention that Sunflower has a drive-thru window? I definitely plan to fold Sunflower into my rotation moving forward.”
“The employees are great, so patient and the service is great for everyone except the drive and go on holidays as the head store manager can’t seem to staff enough people so that one person doesn’t have to do all the work and stress out about having to fulfill all order in their own. Making customers wait 15-20 minutes for their orders that were listed as completed on the app even though they come into the store . The drive and go staff is excellent on regular days so it is clearly the manager not preparing for any needs that may occur for people to require this service on the holidays is poor planning/staffing on his part. This had happened to me on several holidays or right before a holiday weekend so once is a coincidence but three times is a pattern. Having another person around to help shouldn’t be that difficult as if there aren’t enough orders they can stock shelves or help at registers or something else . I mean seriously the person in floral could have given me the order but she wasn’t supposed to leave floral and no one was buying flowers or special ordering them .”
“The establishment consistently maintains a high standard of cleanliness and organization, with inventory typically well-stocked. Furthermore, the availability of self-checkout options and an adequate number of cashiers generally minimizes wait times.”
“I'm an Asian dude with Mexican as my fave food. I drive really far to come here. This supermarket has better meats, and way more variety, than my local Ralphs, Vons, etc. The tortillas made here are better than tortillas from anywhere else that I know of! 😋 Also, everyone is so friendly, the butchers, checkout, and the people behind the little restaurant on the right.”
“I’m being going to this Walmart couple of times and I just want to say that there’s a really nice lady working at the self-checkout she’s very nice, kind and helpful her name is Estefany I see her working every day and my honesty is that every time I go there she’s keeping the self check clean. I give her this five stars as the greatest employee and I wish they could have more people like her :)”
“I had to take a moment to recognize Samer at Trader Joe’s in Simi Valley for providing some of the best customer service I’ve received in a very long time!
I went in today to purchase flowers and had quite a few bouquets. Samer immediately offered me a bucket to make carrying them easier. I asked if the bucket was complimentary, and when he said yes, I said, “Oh wow, okay! Do they come with water?” Without hesitation, he said he could definitely put some water in it for me. He ran to the back and added some water to help keep my flowers fresh on the drive home—especially important since it was over 100 degrees outside!
It may seem like a small gesture, but it made such a big impression on me. I’ve purchased flowers there before that unfortunately didn’t make it through the heat, and when that happened, the manager was incredibly helpful and replaced them without any problem.
Trader Joe’s is already known for great customer service, and every visit I’ve had at the Simi Valley location has been pleasant. But Samer truly went above and beyond today. His kindness, attentiveness, and willingness to do something extra for a customer is exactly what exceptional customer service looks like.
Thank you, Samer! Please keep doing what you’re doing—you made my day and definitely deserve to be recognized!”
