“Needed a cashier’s check because I was out of checks, and out of town. This credit union has a partnership with Southern CA Credit Union. I got to Golden 1 a few minutes early. The doors opened promptly at 10. My teller’s name was Donna. She was very courteous and greeted me warmly. I didn’t have my account number, and she was very patient while I called my credit union to obtain the number, and placed a paper and pen in front of me, right when I needed it. After I requested my check(for deposit and rent) she determined I was new to the area, and extended a nice welcome. Thank you, Donna! The security guard was very nice too, smiling and holding the door for me on the way out.

“Embarked upon an in-person visit to Patelco Credit Union (San Mateo branch) on 08/12/2023 for follow-up regarding an electronic funds transfer for a car loan. It was an urgent matter given I anticipated collecting the new car on Sunday. I was served by the assistant branch manager there, Leena, who was very congenial and gregarious, courteous, understanding, receptive to my requests, and interpersonally effective. The existing issue was promptly and conscientiously solved, and I was on my way in no time. I recommend them without any reservations.”

“I opened a checking account today with the help of the friendly Security guard who greeted me and directed me to the sign in kiosk. He also saw that I was carrying a large bag of loose coins. He showed me I could start using the coin star machine and take the receipt to the teller when I was done opening my new account. Ms Jackson also greeted me and I was opening my new checking account and issued a debit card in a few minutes. I glad to be moving my business to SF FIRE CREDIT UNION.”
“The SFBAECU deserves a top notch review for the services they continue to provide for SF Bay Area Educators. They provide loans and other services to educators with reasonable interest rates and friendly service. Over the years, I have had a couple of loans through the SFBAECU. It was a smooth and easy process to get pre-approved and then later to get the loan paperwork in order when I purchased the car. Terry also answered a lot of my questions through the online chat system, and he had even made a note to include a credit union offer that he later honored (even once the offer was over).”

“Due to my own inability to think well and a snafu with Social Security, I defaulted on my credit card payments. Instead of asking Patelco for help immediately, I waited and destroyed my credit. Ugh. Finally, I went to see Tony, the Manager, at the Daly City Patelco. He graciously helped me get my past-due account paid off and reinstituted my checking account. Tony never once shamed me or did anything negative. His only obvious goal was to help me. Wow. A Banker whose goal was and is to help a member of the Credit Union! I highly recommend Patelco to anyone looking for a small bank or Credit Union that gives personalized financial services. It makes both "cents" and sense!”
