“I stayed here last week and really enjoyed the peaceful, nature filled atmosphere. It's not a luxury resort, but for the price, it offers great value.The room was clean, and cozy. However, the bed was a bit creaky, it made noticeable noise whenever I turned or shifted during the night, which affected my sleep a little.The staffs were warm and helpful, always ready to assist. Beautiful, green surroundings made for a relaxing stay. The location is convenient, with restaurants and shops nearby. Overall, it’s a charming place to stay if you're looking for a quiet retreat. I hope the bed issue can be improved because I’d love to return!”

“For the price of the rooms it would benefit to have bottled water provided to go with the coffee machine. At least one bottle per guest would have been appreciated.”

“So there's a little spot with some beach chairs in a little sand right next to the water front grill. It overlooks the docked boats and it's centrally located down here in South bay san diego. I recommend eating at the waterfront grill and you can also have a cocktail. Very casual food light but very good. I just wanted to show you guys the comfort of being able to be outside near the water with nature.”

“We were here for an event at the Easton center and this was a super convenient location - close to the freeway and many food options. Free parking and breakfast and I found the breakfast pretty tasty (waffles and hot food!). The rooms all had full kitchens and were really big. My only reason this was a 4 instead of a 5 was that I found our shower had terribly low water pressure and the first night we had a lot of room noise (freeway and neighbors). Note the second night, we all slept like a log and didn't hear anything so it could have just been that first night. If the water pressure was fixed, this would be the perfect place!”

“First time staying at Holiday Inn since the Late/Early 2000's. Holiday Inn has definitely turned itself around from the complimentary breakfast, to how clean the rooms are. Amenities in the room have definitely come a long way with the microwave, fridge and bedding. The pillows and bedding are high quality and very cool for hot nights. Joe and Tiffany along with the morning staff are amazing I highly recommend everyone come check out The Holiday Inn off E st in Chula Vista CA.

“Great stay! Room was nice and the kitchenette was perfect. Great location and staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice after a long day of doing touristy stuff. Breakfast was also included and had a nice selection.”

“Standard, mediocre Courtyard Marriott experience. First off, in terms of location, this is by far the best I've picked. It's right in the middle of a bunch of highways without being in a busy or noisy area, so it's easy to head out to where you want to go. I don't think it's really within reasonable walking distance of much, but I was driving. There were also 8 Tesla Destination chargers here for hotel guests that were cheaper than Superchargeres, and I was able to use one on both nights of my stay (Friday and Saturday), though I did get the last available one just before midnight on Saturday night.

The hotel is huge for a Courtyard. The room was OK, but not great. The floor had a bunch of sticky spots in the carpet (like leftover spilled food or candy that was embedded). It seemed decently clean otherwise and there were no bugs or anythiing that I saw. The bathroom was also acceptably clean. The use of space is awful, though. It has the little bathroom sink nook with about two square feet of counter space and then a huge WC/bathroom area with a bunch of empty space between the shower and toilet. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer to actually have a bunch of bathroom counter space. The bed was comfortable enough for me.
The basic Wi-Fi was slow but usable for basic things (~10Mb up/~5Mb down).
I didn't try the breakfast so I can't comment on that.

The main issue I actually had here was that my room was next to one of the main stairwells, and it got so loud in the morning with everyone going up and down for breakfast and kids stampeding up and down. I was awoken each day around 7am and couldn't go back to sleep due to the noise. Also, I woke up hot in the middle of the night because of the wonky stuff with the AC thermostat trying to save energy or whatever.

I'd probably stay here again, but I'd request a quieter location--the place is huge after all so there's bound to be a better spot.”

“Very surprised how clean the rooms were. This location had plenty of free parking. We arrived around 11pm on a Friday and check in was fast. Really nice experience. Safe location.

Rooms: Clean room. Spacious. The room had a microwave and coffee maker. Beds were comfortable

“Rooms very clean, had to move our own belongings to different room when housekeeping used bleach to clean room the smell. Mentioned twice about refrigerator not working properly ( nothing done) Be sure you book directly Thur motel…no refund if you don’t and have to leave early! Free breakfast saved money. Older but nice motel.”

“I rarely leave a 5-star review on motels as a point of principle because you're realistically not ever going to get that experience. However, this seems to be the only East county motel with consistently great rooms. They have enough space, are clean, they all have a microwave and refrigerator, the TVs are nice and there's none of that plastic wood everywhere that you'll see in other budget stays.

10/10 will stay again.”

“This is a great hotel! I was in San Diego because my uncle was in the hospital. He wasn't doing much better by the end of our stay but Joseph the manager accommodated us and let us extend our stay for another week even tho they were full! The hotel beds were clean and comfortable. The gym was perfect for a good workout, and on-site laundry right across the hall was very convenient. The staff was friendly the coffee in the continental breakfast is bomb. If we need to stay again I'll definitely book here and for a fair price.”

“The personnel were great. I was not prepared for the open air hallway found with motels. That was a bit disconcerting. The hot water got warm, but not truly hot if you are a hot shower fan. Ultimately though I WOULD stay here again. The beds were clean and comfortable. Just know the back of the hotel backs up to an actual neighborhood. Close to Gaylord Pacific and lots of retail.”

“Just wanted to give a shoutout to the Liz the General Manager. When I arrived exhausted, a few hours before check-in, she was able to get me into a room before the stated reservation time so I could rest from a long day of traveling. It was a huge help and and not something she needed to do, but it was no big deal for Liz.Liz and the team also saved me a huge headache. In my rush to leave, I managed to forget to put my laptop in my bag. I hadn't even noticed it was missing yet when I received a call from Liz letting me know she had it and would keep it safe for me until I could come back to pick it up.!The room and location are nothing special, but the service was top notch! I can't thank Liz and her team enough for their incredible hospitality.”

Only downside is that the location isn't very walkable, BUT there is a gas station and Mexican restaurant right next door, a bar and a couple other restaurants less than a block away, and lots of shopping within a mile.”

The rugs are so dirty. Had my grandchildren over we were on the floor playing. I noticed their feet they were dark brown after only 30 mins. UNBELIEVABLE. Cleaning these would be a waste of time. Would take a day on each room. They need to be replaced

“I loved my visit to the hotel because of Liridona. she is the top reason I would stay here. she was working many hours and was very patient with me and kind. Its hard to find a kind and patient person that feels genuine. Marriot is lucky to have you. it seems she is there 24 hours and gives all her precious time to make sure guests are treated to the best standard. the hotel is an oasis in the middle of El cajon. it is a taste of luxury in the hot mess of the city. Liridona is the angel that makes El cajon a better place and the experience at Marriot heavenly.”

“Jay (the younger guy) Sonya(daytime audit) and Dinora with housekeeping run a very tight ship. This place is clean quiet and very affordable. I brought my kids with me, it's safe for them and quiet. I just couldn't have had a better time it is close to everything and public transportation if you want to leave the car behind and go visit the city, only about 20 minutes away from downtown by transit.”

“Stayed there last night and the gentleman checking me in was so friendly, the rooms were nice and the location just off the freeway was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was an added perk and the self made waffles, potatoes and sausages were all delicious. Will definitely be staying here again.”

“Called in as a last minute emergency guest. The lady at the desk was so sweet and very efficient! It's a sketchy location but absolutely not their fault. The room I stayed in had a mini fridge, mini freezer, microwave, and hardwood floors. The bed was surprisingly comfortable?? And the room was cleaner than other motels for sure. Their ice machine takes quarters so just plan for that. I'm staying here again next time I'm stranded in San Diego. So worth it for the price I paid.”
