“Really a wonderful place. Great location, 2 min. From beach (they have beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes and a bunch of accessories for the beach. About 5 min from state st. The staff is super nice.
We had a room with hitchen (cabinets, dinnerware, pots, pans, fridge, stove, oven, microwave etc..) living room with sofa and bedroom. It's clean and upkeeping is great. Flowers, tables and chairs outside. Regular key for door.
Loved staying there.”

“What a gem in the middle of a hectic, festival-filled Santa Barbara weekend. Traveling with my 18-year-old son on a college tour, stressed and road-weary, we were greeted with the thoughtful offer of water or beer at check-in—I gladly took the latter. This inn was a true respite: quiet (and I’m sound-sensitive), cozy without being too intimate, and staffed by genuinely kind people.
The beds were incredibly comfortable (& I am particular!), the atmosphere relaxed yet polished, and we walked to an exceptional Italian dinner just around the corner. Though we didn’t have time to check out the pool, it looked like a hit with the families heading that way.
In a world of cookie-cutter, Disneyfied, over-themed hotels, this charming spot delivered warmth, comfort, and character. If our son gets into school nearby, We’ll gladly be back—hopefully for longer. Thank you for giving us exactly what we needed. It was perfect (and I travel a lot for business & pleasure!!!).”
“We had a fabulous time at Secret Garden Inn and Cottages. The location was perfect, we were able to walk to State Street Santa Barbara. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. Breakfast on the front porch was delicious. We definitely will stay here again. Highly recommend.”

“My mom and I spent one night here and had a very pleasant experience. The location is walking distance from the train station as well as a short walk to the beach. Our room was clean and very spacious for the two of us. A special thank you BEN for being incredibly accommodating and kind. He did an excellent job making us feel special. I would recommend to anyone as well as return for another stay.”

“We stayed here during the week of the annual fiesta and really enjoyed our stay.
The place itself has a view of the beach and is walking distance from Stearns Wharf. It is a lovely and quiet place to stay.
The rooms were a bit small but clean and the bed was very comfy. The swimming pool was clean, cool, and refreshing. Add to that the complimentary wine, crackers, and cheese in the evening to enjoy after your swim.
We loved the breakfast options: different breads(English muffins, bagels, sliced bread, waffles, muffins), yogurt, blueberries, hard boiled eggs, cereal, etc ..We also appreciated that they had hot water, cold water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available at all times.
Everyone we encountered at the front desk was polite and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again.”
“We really liked this hotel. On our late afternoon arrival, we were offered free milk and cookies and cheese and wine in Reception. The reception staff were friendly, chatty, and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel layout is more like a motel with free parking outside the rooms and has a lovely pool / hot tub area. The rooms themselves are quite dated but are clean and have a full kitchen area if required. Free coffee and hot water were available in Reception so we never made coffee in our room. The free breakfast was much better and more substantial than we expected and included fruit, yogurt, pastries, cereals etc. We only stayed one night and wish we had stayed longer. The whole vibe of the place was relaxed and friendly with no skimping or trying to charge for additional items, e.g. valet parking, ‘resort’ fees etc.”
“Ahh, Santa Barbara. What an amazing location on the California Coast! This hotel is perfect...stay, wander and come back, eat here, workout in the new fitness center adjacent to the pool...I could go on and on. The food is great, The drinks are great and the rooms are SPOTLESS! Our room had 160 degree views of the waterfront and the the weather is always nice. The price might knee jerk you but you can see the quality. Valet is $27 and necessary. Enjoy!
Rooms: VERY clean and architecturally wonderful. Get the King bed with a view!~
Nearby activities: Everything water and shopping.
Walkability: You are on the beach walkway...go for miles or to State Street and shop. The pier is near
Food & drinks: One of the best menus I've seen. The food is great! The restaurant owner was sitting next to us as a drop in QC. Nice”

“We had an incredible experience at PaliHouse. The ambiance was fantastic, creating a perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon. Vinny, the bartender, was an exceptional host and a delightful conversationalist, making us feel right at home. The drinks were perfectly balanced and delicious. As locals, we truly appreciated the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We cannot wait to return and enjoy the patio and the beautiful water fountain. Highly recommend”
“Before booking this hotel, I read all the reviews and checked the area and map online. It’s within a short walking distance of the ocean and restaurants, making it a convenient choice. Parking is free and ample for all guests.
The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious enough to move around without feeling cramped, even with a partner. The bathroom is also a good size, and there’s a closet—with a robe! A robe? Really? Who gives you a robe these days? Not even the big hotels! I absolutely loved this thoughtful touch.
Staying true to their name, they leave a small bag of lavender by your pillow. If you rub it on your pillow, it releases a calming scent to help you sleep—such a unique and relaxing detail.
A special shoutout to the front desk team! The only name I remember is Da Nia, but everyone was incredibly kind and helpful.
Breakfast is included and well thought out, offering eggs, bacon, croissants, parfait, juices, coffee, tea, and even water. In the afternoons, they host a lovely happy hour with wine, cheese, crackers, and cookies—a thoughtful touch that adds to the experience.
In conclusion, my husband and I absolutely loved this place! We will definitely be back to explore more of Santa Barbara, and without a doubt, we’ll be staying at Lavender Inn by the Sea again.”
“Really enjoyed my stay at the Simpson House in early July, while attending a wedding in Santa Barbara. Appreciate the openness to feedback and timely consideration of an upgrade to make my stay more enjoyable. It's a charming place, clean, quiet and tastefully decorated, with a nice breakfast, and attention to detail. Highly Recommended. :)”
“Perfect. Quiet, not far from the center and not expensive.
Rooms: Very good, but we had to upgrade to apartment.
Walkability: Not far from the center”
“The restaurant is great for a romantic lunch or dinner, especially if you are a local like me. I have not stayed at the hotel, since I live close.
Food and drinks: The food is great and the ocean view is wonderful. I live 30 minutes from there, my wife and I go there to enjoy the restaurant and view, for an easy romantic lunch or dinner.
Since I'm a local, I haven't stayed so I cannot speak to the hotel side.”

“We had a wonderful experience at this charming hotel. Ten days before I arrived there was an issue with my reservation. I called the hotel and spoke to a very nice young man. I believe his name was Alberto. He assisted me straighten out our reservation. The room was beautiful, spacious and charming. The location was great near the beach and the main street where all the restaurants and shops are. I highly recommend Castillo Inn!”

“Booked last minute, so happy we chose this motel. Dog friendly. Clean room, comfortable beds, bathroom was also clean. Cozy room, we had our own private patio for the night and could see the pier and beach from the patio. Each room seems to be different which adds to the fun experience. Loved the individuality of the motel. The lady at the front counter who checked us in was super kind and helpful, too. Would definitely stay here again!”

“Very cute and stylish hotel! We enjoyed the board games, book room and most of all the art. The staff were very sweet and helpful. However, the room was very small and the bedding was dirty. Also, the walls are not great at soundproofing, we could hear the other guests late at night.”
“We're just winding up a four day stay at the Oasis. I was a little concerned when we drove in because the parking lot is in very poor shape. Plus the check in wasn't particularly friendly or informative. But after that everything has been very positive. Our room is large and comfortable with air conditioning. We have a big separate kitchen with room for a large table, ideal for computer set up. Big TV, comfortable beds, a really nice bathroom with a deep tub. The linen and terry are good quality and the housekeeping is excellent. Suggestion: the bathroom needs hooks to hang things on.
We've used the pool which is sparkly clean and has good pool furniture. Plus there's a bbq with charcoal and lighter fluid, vending machines and an ice machine. The property obviously gets good routine care and maintenance. The value for the money at the Oasis compared to the Santa Barbara market is terrific. We will definitely stay here again.”
“Absolutely great spot, great value - got my free of charge bike ride from this place. It was perfect! Definitely will keep this hotel in mind for the next visit! Very close to downtown area & the beach. Thanks a lot!”
“Everything here exceeded our expectations, from the call for reservations ( we called the front desk instead of the 800 number since we had several questions, and the I believe manager was absolutely wonderful), to checking out , and everything in between. The grounds were incredibly well kept, rooms were spotless, all staff said hello with a smile, no matter where they encountered you, pool was clean as was the area around it. For the price, I was not expecting it to be nearly as great as it is.”

“Thank you Naomi and the rest of the Pacific Crest Hotel team!
We were greeted by Naomi as soon as we exited our car. Parking is incredibly convenient. It felt like parking at an apartment garage. It is safe and easy to get in and out from. We brought our senior dog with us for this trip and I'm so thrilled we decided to do so. Pacific Crest Hotel is dog friendly and very accommodating. Our room was large and very clean. The kitchen was impressive and fully equipped with all the necessary items. The tea kettle was a home run for me!
The location cannot be beat. Everything about this little hotel exceeded my expectations. Thank you!”
