“Affordable and clean, plus the bed, despite my first impressions, was very comfy. I slept great and that usually isn't the case when I'm away from home. This place is old and has gone through a little refresh at some point, so the rooms are fine but definitely feels dated. The Ventura Music Hall is just a couple minutes walk away and the beach is a 5 minute drive. We would definitely stay here again.”

“Best location and great deal! Easy, quick, and welcoming check-in, being able to hear the waves from my room, having a fireplace, the shower with endless hot water, everything was a great respite during a long trip and after a rough few days. They also give an hour of parking after check out so I was able to get some extra time at the beach.
4 stars for a few reasons; the room had some areas that could have been a little cleaner (dusty areas like behind the tv which I have included a picture of), and as other reviewers have mentioned, the first floor patio is shared which really did take away from my enjoyment of the space. I was woken early to children running around right outside my room, and the family next door took both the patio chairs for my room for their own use. I get that the patio is one long section but think there must be a way to create better barriers so instances like this don't happen. I really think considering this is an aspect of the stay that many reviewers have highlighted, it is worth trying to improve the experience for guests in the future. The bed was super comfortable, but the pillows felt cheap compared and I personally wish they were more plushy and supportive as I had to use 3 of the 4 provided for myself.”

My only negative feedback: If you get an ocean facing view room, be prepared at night to deal with a really bright light on the patio. It’s obnoxious and not comfortable to sit on patio.”

“5 Star!! I was visiting from out of town and had an incredible lunch at the restaurant. Chef William Traynor is AMAZING!!! I strongly encourage anyone who would love a delicious meal to stop here!! The chowder was delicious! We also had fish tacos with watermelon salad. Wonderful experience !!!”
“Had a event at the hotel over the weekend. Can't say enough about this place. Checked in friday night, was very pleasantly welcomed by the night time staff especially for being later in the evening. The room was great and spacious.
On to the event-
The room was set up perfectly and looked great. From the linens , to the candles and silverware.. almost didn't want to add our personal touches. The staff was great, very helpful and pleasant and on point.
The FOOD- DEFINITELY the highlight of the evening and probably the most complimented part of the event. Our guest couldn't stop raving about it. We had a mixed culture menu ?? a spanish themed appetizers which consisted of chips and salsa and fresh ceviche which was delicious and I dont even eat ceviche. The main courses were Italian themed, which consisted of 2 types of green salad which were both delicious. Then a pesto pasta, a cheese tortellini which was superb and stood out, 2 types of freshly made pizza which was also very good. Deserts consisted of cannoli's and tiramisu which were both delicious.
The after event- hung out in the lounge/bar area with some friends catching up. Bartenders were on point and drinks were delicious.
The area was spacious with plenty of seating and had the option of being outside by the big fire pit. Also have a very nice koi pond. Thank you to all the staff that helped make this event great.”
“Outstanding stay for our family reunion! The Clock Tower Inn provided one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. The hospitality is unmatched; they make you feel like family the second you walk in. The location is unbeatable—we parked when we arrived and walked everywhere until it was time to check out. The lobby, rooms, and grounds were clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. This place met and exceeded all of our needs. 100% recommend!”
“We recently stayed at Cliff House Inn for 4 days to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it turned out to be such a memorable getaway.
The hotel itself is beautiful and perfectly located. I had requested a birthday surprise, and they thoughtfully decorated our room with flowers, which made it feel extra special. Our room was clean, cozy, and had an ocean-facing view, waking up to the sound of waves was just magical.
One of the best parts of our stay was simply soaking in the surroundings, whether it was sitting by the pool, watching the ocean waves crash, or enjoying the stunning sunsets right from the property. They also offer a continental breakfast, and having it while sitting by the ocean made mornings feel so peaceful and relaxing.
The location is super convenient too, very close to the freeway, about 15 minutes from Santa Barbara and 15 minutes from Ventura Harbor, which made exploring really easy.
The property itself is gorgeous, with trails nearby that are great for biking. And the highlight? We even spotted whales and dolphins from the beach chairs during sunset, such an unforgettable experience.
Overall, it was a really lovely stay and the perfect place to relax, celebrate, and enjoy some quiet time by the ocean. Highly recommend!”

The manager and owner went out of there way to help me out when I was having issues with my bank.

“FYI: the vagabond inn in Ventura California on Thompson boulevard is now being used by the county as temporary housing for individuals you need of a place to stay. It was leased by behavioral health for the next 2 years. This program started in December of 2024. They no longer operate as a motel to the public.”
“First of all, thank you to the family who accepted us as a family?, they have a wonderful child ☺️. We lived there for quite a long time, it was hard to leave the place, but as they say, the vacation is over))) we lived like at home, the staff was smiling and everything was top notch, thanks again ???”
“We were there for surfing and proximity a particular beach was key. We needed to be able to store a 10’ board and two 9’ boards + a beach towel drying rack, wetsuit rack and box fan to dry it all off. Plenty of room for all of it and room to maneuver. Breakfast was great. Place was full every night but we always got parking right in front of our ground floor room. The layout of the property allowed us peace of mind that car break ins would be highly unlikely. Walk to pier. Walk to downtown. Service was always friendly. Room was clean. There’s always things that can be complained about anywhere, but we were super stoked on our stay. Looking forward to coming back again for the next surf trip.”

“We stayed here because my son was graduating and our first day was horrible bad spot over by the homeless rooms to loud smelled like marijuana,had homies on both side of us? next morning we left to mall came back our room was open?thank God he takes care of me and my daughter nothing was touched.so I called front desk and they were very concerned! And I asked for our safety can we be.moved.cl9ser to the office they allowed it! Wonderful spot smelled so clean and made our stay blessed ❤️ thank you I will be coming back ?”
