“What isn't there to love about Alfi's? I just wish this location offered grocery curbside pickup. Even though this spot is closer, I end up going to Gardena for curbside pickup via Instacart. They still get 5 stars, though!
Their ground beef (especially the grass-fed) is excellent quality. Egg prices rock, and I love their produce. They also have great prices on snacks and baked goods. I'll definitely be back! 👍🏽”

“There's always a great deal to be found at grocery outlet. The staff was really very kind after my card was declined. They waited for me to run out and get another one. And if you have cats or any kind of animal or dog, this is a great place to score a deal on the food.”

“The old man is talking again.
He has three things on the belt. Bread. Eggs. A can of soup. He stands close to the counter like it’s cold behind him. The clerk scans slowly. He doesn’t notice. Or maybe he does and doesn’t care.
He tells her the tomatoes aren’t what they used to be. Says they used to split open in the sun. Says they smelled like something. She nods. She says, “Yeah,” the way people do when they don’t know what else to say.
I look at my watch. I don’t need to. I just want to feel the weight of time in my hand.
There are four people behind me now. No one speaks. We all breathe a little louder than we need to.
The old man laughs. It’s not a big laugh. It’s dry. He says his wife used to make soup with bones and scraps. “Best you ever had,” he says. Then he adds, “She’s gone now.”
The clerk’s face changes. Just a little. She says she’s sorry. He shrugs. Like it’s weather.
I shift my feet. I think about dinner at home. The light from the television. The quiet. It will not be so different from his quiet. I don’t like that thought.
He asks her what she’s studying. She says business. He says that’s good. Says the world always needs people who understand money.
The machine beeps. The receipt prints.
He folds it slow. Puts it in his wallet like it matters.
He thanks her. Says her name. He must have read it off the tag. No one does that anymore.
He pushes his cart away.
Now it’s me.
The clerk looks at me. “How are you?”
I almost say fine. I almost end it there.
Instead I say, “Long shift?”
She nods. “Yeah.”
I nod back. That’s all.
The line moves again.”
“Best place in the city to get drinks by far. The dude behind the counter is so good and helps you with anything you need, super friendly guy. Never going to another liquor store again!”
“Wonderful place to get mediterranean, Arabic or Indian items. The gentleman working was a great help. He wasn’t pushy but was very helpful. I thought I knew what o was doing getting what I needed. The gentleman took the time to explain to me what I was missing. He came from behind the counter to actually show me he didnt just give me instructions where to look or details where to find an item he got out of his chair from behind the counter and was very nice showing me where the item i was looking for located and even broke down details to other options that were both more expensive and cheaper.
They sell vegetables, deli meats, sweets, pastries and make inexpensive delicious hearty sandwiches.”
“Love shopping here! They have everything that you can image just like at Costco or Ralphs but in smaller portion. If you have a small family, then this is the place to come. Everything here is fresh, and the self's are fully stock. Great selection of products.

“Had a really great experience at Smart & Final Extra!. The store is very well managed, clean, and organized, making shopping super easy and comfortable. They have a huge variety of groceries, snacks, drinks, fresh items, and household products all in one place. Their alcohol section is impressive too — lots of wines, beers, whiskey, and many other options from affordable to premium choices. Every time I come here, I always find everything I need. Great service, huge parking space, and overall a very convenient place to shop.”
“Ralph's has this lemon, lime, or orange flavored ice that my family and I absolutely loves. You can't order online and get delivered or pickup. You have to go into the store. They also had some veggies I was looking for that were a bit hard to find.”

Sure it might be a little messy but most Ma and Pa liquor stores are. My customer service experience was great here and has been every time.”
