“This group at Veterinary Neurology Center is incredibly special. After my sweet Rylee began seizing from meningitis/encephalitis, we were referred here and taken care of by such wonderful people who care deeply about their jobs and your pets. Rylee was first under Dr. Vurik’s care, where she was diagnosed with epilepsy, and she always treated us with kindness and compassion. Dr. Vurik answered my many questions and helped me navigate this scary and unpredictable disease.

After Dr. Vurik’s departure, we were seen by Dr. Dugas, who is incredibly knowledgeable and was instrumental in Rylee’s care as her epilepsy became more and more aggressive. The girls at the front desk are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Not only were they on top of my many phone calls and prescription refills, but they always treated us like family. Rylee absolutely loved visiting and was showered with love, affection, and her favorite—treats.

Without this amazing group of people, Rylee would not have been able to live such a full and happy life for almost nine years. When Rylee suffered a massive seizure, I couldn’t have navigated it without them. Ultimately, Rylee passed, and the love I received absolutely blew me away. They sent me flowers, and we cried together on the phone. I will never forget how you treated me with such kindness during the worst thing I’ve ever gone through—the loss of my soul dog and best friend.

I am incredibly thankful to you all for giving Rylee the best life and, in turn, making me the luckiest dog mom in the world. You guys are the best. ?”

We couldn't find a single animal laboratory that performed necropsies that would call us back or take in our beloved pet due to requiring the patient to be already serviced within the hospital. It was a holiday, and we took a chance and left a message at Lab For Pets in Laguna Hills, CA. Within a few hours, Dr. Shahriar called us directly and explained the intake protocol. He was extremely friendly and compassionate, as well as completely on board with helping us get the answers we needed.

Our darling girl was transported the next morning, and underwent the entire procedure within days. Doctor Shahriar literally kept us posted on updates of findings as he was conducting the procedure. He also kept us in the loop daily as to what his initial findings were compared to what could potentially come back from the lab testing. When all the tissue samples came back, and the necropsy was finalized, he called us personally to go over every detail so that we could be completely clear on what happened.

Not everyone may get the answers they thought they needed, but I guarantee you will learn so much more about what was hiddenly going on in your pet's system. And, anybody who thinks this can be difficult to digest... then please get yourself a doctor like Dr. Shahriar! Not only was the entire process well documented and well-communicated, he also offered us a cremation package and paw print that turned out to be the most beautiful gifts we've ever seen for a fallen soulmate. This not only helped to give us the closure we thought we needed, it also reminded us of all the amazing beings out there doing this to help us. 5 Stars isn't enough!!! Thank you with all of our hearts for bringing our precious girl home with such love. We appreciate you more than ever!!!”
