“My mom and I stumbled upon this local gem on south pearl street while visiting Denver. The moment I saw this store I knew I had to go in. There’s nothing I love more than a small, independent bookstore and this one checked all the right boxes.
✅ super friendly, awesome staff
✅ good mix of classics and more recently published books
✅ fun kids section (I bought a kids book about a pancake and a French toast racing for the last drop of syrup!)
✅ plenty of games, toys, and gifts
✅ large selection of cool stickers (get ready for indecision paralysis)
If you’re in Denver and love a whimsical bookstore definitely stop by Second Star to the Right.”
“Pleasant independent bookstore with comfy reading nooks, kid's section with play area, good selection of current books, and even a used book section (predominantly recently published like-new hardback books.”
“Hope Tank is so much more than a cute local gift shop (although it is where I get 90% of my holiday and birthday gifts every year!). The concept of "gifts that give back" extends well beyond support of the local non profits their donations go to. This concept is a true representation of what mutual aid can look like. They run programs and educational forums out of their store and host different local micro businesses at their space every weekend. If you truly want your money to go to the people in your community that need it most, this the place to go. They have limited shopping hours now, but you can support through donations to the store as well. Could not recommend this place more.”
“Hands down the best curated toy shop in Denver! The owner is a total gem and we always enjoy visiting. We never leave empty handed either. Great variety of prices and unique pieces you won't find at big box stores. Cannot recommend enough!”
“I feel so lucky living within walking distance of this children’s boutique. Excellent clothing and toys from a great team, and they often have fun events for kids!”
“Such a great place for anyone who has a family member with autism! They have lots of products for sale, but the most helpful thing is the huge section of resources--flyers, business cards, & more! They have lots of events & are amazing connectors, & the staff is so knowledgeable, too!! 🙌”
“This is the cutest and best curated children’s shop!! The absolute perfect place to find a baby shower gift or birthday gift. Great mix of clothes, toys, and books. Will be back.”
“Perfect place for kids / newborn gifts and a whole section for adults too. Best part is the sweet wrapping / wrapping paper / bows so you can walk in and out with start to finish gifts. Great stop in the neighborhood!”

“I have been going to this store for a year now and I just have to give a huge shoutout to annemarie. she is absolutely the sweetest person! Every time I visit, she greets me with a warm smile, and her knowledge about all the toys is just incredible. She makes every visit so welcoming, and I always leave with a smile. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Found out about this place from a tik tok video and i absolutely loved it!!! I spent around $200 &let me tell you i don’t regret it! Its such a cute store I went alone can’t wait to be back with the kids!”
“Popped into this store on Saturday looking for a Birthday gift for my 2-year-old niece. We were immediately greeted by whom I’m assuming was one of the owners and asked if she could help steer us in any one direction. She showed us two sections with books and toys that were age appropriate and we found exactly the type of gift we were hoping for, which was loved by our niece and her parents. Shw even gift wrapped it for us for free and we had choice of tissue paper. These reviews are puzzling as our experience in this store was nothing short of pleasant and successful. There was a sign on the door about not using electronic devices (I actually received an important call I was anticipating while in the store and simply stepped outside to take it, not a problem at all) but I think that’s actually quite nice and perhaps should be more commonplace. If you are kind and respectful, I can’t imagine you won’t be treated with respect here in return.”
“Stumbled across this place in downtown Denver. Tons of costumes and accessories upstairs but the real treasure is downstairs where they have more boardgames than ive ever seen in one place. They have MTG, D&D supplies, amateur magic stuff, a chess section and even a pretty cool escape room. A definite hidden gem in the heart of downtown.”
