“MATTER is an incredible bookstore with design, social conscious, and urban studies books that are often hard to find, pulling from a wide range of publishers like Verso, Phaidon, MIT Press. Beyond the incredible curating, print making, and great customer service, you get the sense that MATTER is a true shop front: if you have a chance to strike up a conversation, then you find the uniqueness in the connection MATTER has to global publishing, activism, and authorship. Denver is a better and more enriched cultural city for having MATTER!”

“What a wonderful little shop. John was exceptionally helpful. I had a very hard time not buying everything in sight but I made it out with the one book I was looking for. The prices seem quite reasonable even though the selection included very hard to find editions. I emailed asking about the book I was looking for and received a response letting me know that indeed they hadot and a copy was waiting for me when I walked in.”

“Awesome family oriented business. I picked up a doll that teaches prayers for my niece, anointed oil, a couple of bow ties (nice selection) and a few stones with positive words. I would definitely return and prices are reasonable. It’s a Christian book store but there is everything from clothes to home decor and fragrances.”

“This is such a special place! Be warned you might end up spending hours here looking through all their books! It’s such a cool concept! They sell hardbacks for $3 and paperbacks for $2. The new books at the front are priced individually though. They take donations and have membership options too! I left with a stack of books, and honestly can’t wait to come back!Did I mention it’s the oldest 2nd hand bookstore in Denver!”

“The Hermitage is by far the best store of its kind in Denver or in Colorado and a treasure for anyone who values books & literature. Whether one's looking for a particular book ( they'll search for you) or simply wanting to browse their excellent selection, I don't know a better place to spend part of an afternoon. The staff is knowledgeable & very friendly. Highly recommended.”

“I’ve been going here for years. I’ve gotten great readings from Alicia and even after I moved to another state, I still order or have my mom go here for me. These ladies are very nice especially Lais, she is knowledgeable and helpful and always goes above and beyond for costumer service and that’s why I still go with them even while I’m in a different state. I love it here.”

“The Tattered Cover Bookstore and Cafe (Colfax loxation). Great place to grab a coffee, light snack and books. A local Barnes & Nobel with a more hometown feel. Stay and relax. When you're done go to the old school record shop 5 steps away that shares a pedestrian sidewalk.”

“Has a respectable quantity of books across many genres for the size of shop--they're putting *every* square foot to use here. (That said, the space seems it could be a challenge for wheeled patrons, unfortunately.) The area is walkable and there is a nice patio outside but if you're driving into the area, parking might be an issue at times. Didn't find what I was looking for but wouldn't hesitate to go back.”

“Just the type of eclectic, independent bookstore that makes life interesting. Pleasant and helpful proprietors, with everything from first editions to opera music. Came away with a very interesting and obscure history book!”

“Awesome guys in there. Perfect vibe and energy. Your ideal stones will literally jump out at you if youre digging thru one of the bowls. Very inexpensive and walked out of there with 3 stones and string for my pendulum for no more than around 5 bucks. Amazing place!”

“As a library professional & lifelong lover of books, I'm drawn to bookstores whenever I travel. The more exciting ones have been abroad, but I can still find inspiration in countless stateside shops.Unfortunately this trip was already reserved for a 500+ page book on The Beatles, so while I wasn't likely to buy anything new & add to the weight of my luggage, I still spent a good deal of time browsing & left with a few ideas. Lots to discover here if you, too, have a love of reading!”

“Awesome!! I had a great experience looking for some Russian books to aid with learning the language. I was helped by the most kind and genuinely caring store clerk. She was able to recommend some good books for my level of learning and spent some time talking with me in Russian and encouraging me in my journey. I will definitely return when I am back in town!”

“I had a really bad experience with an online book purchase. I was very thankful Matt Anderson was the one running the store. There was an extremely complicated glitch and he fixed it. I was very upset initially and he came to the rescue! I know not just anybody in there would have been able to fix it.”

“I had a great experience with Continental Book Company! This company had a book I had been trying to find for quite a while and no other company carried. Not only that, but they didn't try to ask an outrageous price like some companies do; the book was reasonably priced and arrived in a timely fashion and in great condition. Try them, you'll like them!!”

“Need a gift before you fly home? This is where you should stop. When I travel for work I try and bring my kids a souvenir from my trip. My dad used to do that for me and I've continued the tradition. But sometimes, work prevents me from finding a place for souvenirs. This shop to the rescue. Whether you want plushys, tshirts, stickers, mugs, purses, post cards, or pretty much any souvenir, they have it here. Prices are not cheap but it is in an airport. For example, one tshirt that looked nice was nearly $40 with tax. This trip I found souvenirs elsewhere but when I need some more, I'll be sure to stop here.”

“Well, I already forgot the name of the awesome girl who helped me out, anyway she was great, very knowledgeable, friendly and fun, she laughed at my morbid sense of humor and wasn't offended, thankfully there are some people, like her still out there! I think maybe her name was Kara?? Anyway, give that girl a raise! If I was straight, I'd be macking on her, lol. Also, I think that I may like Fascinations better than Romantix now, although the lube selection was disappointing and expensive but it's all good. Happy orgasm!”
