“Easily my new favorite outdoor shop! Quality gear, good prices, and fantastic service. Highly recommended - this isn’t your typical outdoor place with overpriced / overhyped brands. Loki the Corgi (and Bear) approved!”

“If I could give 6 or 10 stars, I would. Have been going to this shop for years, and I live about 100 miles away, because they are the real deal and deserve to have as much recognition as possible.I called in advance and made an appt for yesterday morning because i was driving 100 miles to get there and hoped I could get my brakes bled and then get the bike midday so I could ride...to which they were happy to accommodate. They said it would be $40 per brake at the most...and when I picked it up it was $20 each...to which I said I was told $40...and they said they didn't have to do a full deal but told me about all the other stuff they checked out for me.Moreover, I had my bike with them last year because my bottom bracket was starting to get loose and took it to them to see if there was anything they could do - I had this same problem with another bike and went to a different bike shop about 5 years ago and ended up that the press fit bearing in the carbon bottom bracket sleeve was just worn beyond repair and the frame was throwaway.Okay, shame on me for buying another frame with press fit in carbon bottom bracket sleeve...BUT, Brian at The Bike Shop in Grand Junction last year took it upon himself to do some research and found a 'thread together' bottom bracket that would render the problem of the carbon sleeve in my frame a NON ISSUE!!! He could have easily told me that, sorry, can't help you, but we have lots of $5,000 bikes you might like - but he didn't!!This shop is already highly rated, and I can add that it is for a reason - Brian, Adam, all of them - they are excellent and I hope I can always use them for my bike service.Sorry this is so long. B.”

“These guys are awesome! Helped fix my bike. It ended up taking longer than expected so they let me demo a bike in the meantime. Also have great coffee and food in the back. Great atmosphere, love being able to bring my dog everytime. I recommend it to all my friends.”

“People continue to tell me that there are more and more rude and unfriendly people in GJCT. I am thankful for everyone who works at this Big 5.
Hands down they are professional, knowledgeable, about sports, with the friendly next-door neighbor vibes, and NOT the I work for a corporation, we are just numbers, what do you need to purchase today attitude. I can always find good deals, prices, with good vibes and friendly smiles when they see me.”

“Had a great experience this morning, Erin got me all set up with new clip in pedals and shoes. Way better experience, and the shoes doubled up very well as hiking shoes on Moore Fun at Kokopelli! Thank you, Erin!”

Lou always remembers me and my kids, Tyson is unbelievably helpful and friendly, and another manage who I don’t know the name helped me out tremendously when purchasing a black stone grill for my husband. “Arriving at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s in Grand Junction, you can feel the dry heat of western Colorado in the air — wide roads, pale sky, red rock in the distance, and that quiet desert stillness that stretches far beyond the horizon ??️. This part of the state feels open and powerful, shaped by canyons, plateaus, and the slow movement of the Colorado River.

Step inside, and the temperature drops into a calm, cool comfort. The heavy wood, stone textures, huge aquariums, boats, hunting gear, fishing walls, boots, and outdoor clothing create a grounded, rugged atmosphere ???. It feels like a shelter built for people who live close to land, water, and distance.

There’s a steady, unhurried feeling here. No rush — just space to walk, look, and breathe. During colder months, the store becomes especially cozy, with soft lighting and seasonal decorations adding warmth against the mountain air ❄️??.

Once you walk back outside, the landscape opens again — long highways, dry wind, distant cliffs, and that unmistakable Western quiet that makes the road feel endless ??. This Cabela’s doesn’t feel like just a store. It feels like a pause point between desert, river, and mountain — a calm stop before the next stretch of road.

Strong land, wide sky, steady air — and a place that fits right into it.”

“Great old-school American gear company. I've got a Superlight bag and like it so much I bought the wife one too. If there's a better car, wall tent, or stock packing sleeping bag out there I'm not aware of it!Anytime weight/space isn't as important, but staying warm and DRY is, the Wiggys bags get the nod. Love the little extras that get thrown in to most orders like sleep socks and ponchos as well. Oh, and suuuuper fast shipping. Will continue to add more bags from the lineup to our collection as their simplicity and ruggedness is much appreciated in our outdoor pursuits.”
