“My wife and I recently moved to Higganum, CT and just now discovered Higganum Hardware. The owners, two brothers, Taylor and Jarrett, opened the store in fall 2021. While young, they are dedicated to customer service and a huge variety of everything from nuts and bolts to Ben Moore Paints, to equipment...a huge variety of quality hardware goods. I asked them, what encouraged them to open the store...the answer, We looked at what Higganum needed and did not have...a Hardware Store. While we believe in the saying SHOP LOCAL, you also want high quality products, good service and location close to where you live and or work. Higganum Hardware fits all three. Go in once, you will choose Higganum Hardware as your go to store again and again. Simply the Best as Tina would say. Julian”

They make healthcare and medication easy with great customer service and support. You cannot compare them to a large chain such as CVS, there is no comparison, their prices are great and customer service better.”
“Everyone at Nutmeg Pharmacy has gone out of their way to provide the medication my son needs. He is a transplant patient and has specialized medical needs. They have been like family to us, making sure he has everything he needs. We have relocated to another state and there are no pharmacies that offer the amazing care that Nutmeg Pharmacy has. They deliver, which is an added bonus. I have recommended them to many people I know that also love them.”
“Great staff. Have had some minor issues with automatic refills, but much of the problem is related to the insurance companies trying to deny claims that have been valid for years. When issues do arise they are always quick to resolve them.”

“I have to say as a newcomer to the shoreline I would shop at this stop and shop over any of the others in the area. Their produce is always stocked and in decent shape, although I wish they would stock more organic produce at times. Three packs of the organic bell peppers especially. Their meat section rarely has anything that doesn't look fresh and appealing. Their fish department does not have an odor (Madison's you can smell as soon as you enter the store). My only complaints are the personal hygiene of some of the people working there is atrocious. A few of the younger guys working there smell lIke they haven't showered in weeks. I also have had mixed interactions with people worKing check out and now try to always scan my own groceries to avoid that part.”
“Everyone I have come across here is helpful and niceCalm atmosphere and a great place for vaccinesIt's a small pharmacy, but they have everything from toys, candy, some hardware items, hair products, medicine and all sorts of other thingsVery convenient if you are passing by on 81 toward Killingworth/interstate 9 entrances or Saybrook RoadOn a side note, there is an LQ across the street, two eateries which both close at Noon, both are great places to eat.There are two pizza places, a restaurant, Liberty Bank, post office and a local market”

“Greatest pharmacy dept of any Walgreens. I want to thank Jay for ensuring I received medication on the same day when there was a malfunction with the computer system or the doctors script system on the week of 12/18/2024.
He went above and beyond to ensure I had my medication that was time sensitive and needed to start dosing ASAP to assist with my condition. He contact me by phone and assured me the medication would be ready for my wife to pickup. Thank you Jay and to pharmacist working that day and the entire pharmacy staff and thank you Ashley the pharmacy manager for always ensuring my medications are allocated and or ready for pickup. Most compassionate pharmacy I have ever used

“I’ve been going here for well over 15 plus years now, I know most the staff…especially those at the pharmacy. Most of the time they are on top of things, I really can’t fault the employees for the company’s lack of staff. Most the negative reviews I’ve seen on here never take into account that some employees are only as good as the company’s training and support. That being said my last experience here was AMAZING, greeted by two friendly employees at the front, my prescriptions were filled in a timely manner and there was an abundance of staff on hand. I counted 5 not including the pharmacy.”

“My wife and I have been loyal customers at our local CVS in Old Saybrook for many years with many unhappy experiences in the pharmacy. The lack of customer service experience with the employees,… if they even had employees.
I happily would like to mention that the past several months have been absolutely incredible!
It’s a honor now to be helped with courtesy and respect from all of the pharmacy's team.
We were informed that the pharmacy manager Helene has taken the reigns and training her staff thoroughly, especially with making each customer feel appreciated and informed.
We’re very pleased to extend this gratitude to Helene and her staff for once again creating a positive, uplifting experience for us. It’s very obvious that she is instilling appreciation amongst her team and the results are amazing.

“Walgreens in Deep River has greatly improved in the last few years. The general store part of it is well-stocked and well-organized with very friendly staff. The pharmacy is often out of my medication or my insurance doesn’t want to approve it so I know to reorder early. The staff has been very good about working with my insurance and resubmitting to get approval and make sure I can have my medication.My criticism is that their grounds and garden area seem pretty much an afterthought. I would like them to spend a bit of money on making their exterior prettier so it looks well-cared for and. Or like a 7-11 parking lot.”
