The Salty Dog Grooming Shoppe, LLC
475 Kings Hwy E, FairfieldLeaving a five-star review for Salty Dog Groomers due to their exceptional care provided to my 3-pound Micro Teacup Yorkie. When I first brought her in, her coat was severely matted—so much so that I believed we’d have to start from scratch and endure the long process of growing her hair back. To my surprise and relief, the team at Salty Dog worked their magic. My puppy now has a beautifully fresh trim and her coat is silky, smooth, and luxuriously soft. Their skills exceeded my expectations!

Fallek Marcie DVM
248 Alden St, FairfieldIn February my dog was unable to use her back legs it hurt me to watch her not be able to walk so the very next day I bought her to the vet to see what was the cause of her sudden spiral the veterinarian informed me that she had ivdd and decided that she would need surgery to walk again or we could go with the option of medications but her chances to walk would be 40 percent I couldn't afford 11,000 dollar surgery so I made the choice to go with medication after 2 and a half weeks I didn't notice anything getting better so I did some research and came across acupuncture & cold laser having positive results in dogs with ivdd so I googled places where my dog could have these types of treatments in luckily I found Marcie fallek at first I wasn't sure her treatments would work I also was a little skeptical but I stuck with her advice & natural remedies after just a month of treatment A miracle happened she started using one leg shortly after she started using her other leg now she is starting to walk normal again I'm very grateful I found Marcie and stuck with her plan if it wasn't for her guidance & treatments my dog wouldn't be here today

Dawg On It
116 Fiske St, FairfieldHands down the best doggy daycare!!! After our beautiful boy Jack came into our lives we started searching for care when I started back to work. We searched and tried out many but were unhappy with the lack of outdoor space, overcrowding and membership prices! When we found Dawg on It, it was like a dream come true! My wife and I took a tour one evening with Al and their daughter who helps out when she is isn't away at school. They were so knowledgeable and friendly! Originally we had wanted to send Jack everyday but then Al told us why that wasnt a good idea for our puppys body and how too much exercise could do more harm than good because he is young. We had tourned other facilities and they NEVER mentioned that. Seemed like other places just want your $$. We felt so comfortable like we were talking to family. We send Jack to "school" 2 days a week and he loves it! He gets so excited in the morning to see his friends and races toward the dooR! and he always comes home super tired! Al and or Lisa send us updates along with pictures and videos. We love to see what our boy does during the day!If you are looking for somewhere safe, dependable and loving to send your fur baby, please look no further. ThIs is Jacks home away from home!

Barcelona Wine Bar
4180 Black Rock Tpke, FairfieldWe went New Year's Eve. What a special treat. Yes it was packed, but the staff really worked hard. Sadly our waiter literally disappeared and I had to search for him to get and pay the bill. Probably was exhaustion. Two of our favorite tapas were removed from the menu, stuffed dates with cheese wrapped in bacon and glazed chorizo in red wine. Would you consider adding them back?

Panera Bread
2320 Black Rock Tpke, FairfieldLet me tell you, I used to be a 20-year Starbucks drinker. I worshipped the line, the ritual, the name scrawled on the cup. But lately? Walking into a Starbucks feels dead: 90% takeout, minimal people sitting, minimal chatter, that third-place energy gone. Meanwhile, Panera is doing something smart. Really smart. It’s not just food, it’s strategy.
Paul Carbone (yes, the CFO now steering Panera Brands) isn’t tinkering around. He’s helping reinvent Panera into what Starbucks used to be: a place you go to stay, to work, to mix with others, to linger over a cup. With over 57% of Panera’s sales now from ecommerce and the Unlimited Sip Club subscription model drawing in folks who used to drop $4–5 per drink elsewhere, Panera has pulled ahead.
Let’s talk about that Sip Club: for about $10.99/month (now bumped to ~$14.99 in many places) you get nearly everything: hot or iced coffee, teas, fountain drinks, Charged Lemonades, free refills while you’re in the café, drink every two hours. This isn’t just value for someone who wants a drink here and there — this is a power move to lock in daily habit. Students, freelancers, people with laptops — they show up more, they stay longer, they spend more.
Contrast that with Starbucks under Brian Niccol. He walked in, saw what’s happening: falling same-store sales, stores with dwindling in-person crowd. He’s trying with his “Back to Starbucks” turnaround: store closures, job cuts, simplifying the menu, re-investing in the café experience. But he’s got a steep hill. The cracks are there. The momentum is with value and habit, and when customers can get more for less and an environment that invites them to stay, that’s a powerful one-two punch.
So yes — Panera has won me over. If you asked me six months ago: I’m Starbucks all the way. Now? I hit Panera every day. Sip Club is unbeatable. Quantity. Quality. Ambiance. And people are flocking back in. Starbucks might still dominate in brand recognition, but Panera is quietly taking back territory: the territory of the lingering, the working, the connecting.
If you're a coffee drinker, if you're someone who wants more than just “grab and go,” Panera is the new Starbucks you wished Starbucks still was — and seeing more and more places follow that model
