Companion Animal Hospital: Swinamer Sonya DVM
801 Poquonnock Rd, GrotonI made an appointment to ensure my recently adopted, four year old Golden Retriever, Chance, was established with a local vet. Companion Animal Hospital was recommended by my sister. The visit was very thorough - no vaccinations were needed as he is current, but he was tested for heartworm (negative!), and they performed a fecal test (also negative). Chance is now on heartworm meds as well as an allergy/itch medicine which has helped so much. The appointment took about an hour due to the thoroughness of the tech as well as the Vet. It was a bit pricey, but its been a few years since we needed a Vet, and bottom line, Chance is worth it!

270 Rogers Rd, GrotonI started bringing my dogs around 6 years ago. They attend twice a week and board when I’m out of town. FPB provides a safe yet fun atmosphere and the staff treat my pups like gold. I love that I can call and check in on them, like a good dog mom would ? 10/10 would recommend.

Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream
2 W Main St, MysticI stopped by for a cup of ice cream and tried two flavors — roasted almond and mocha. Both were really tasty and went perfectly together! The roasted almond had a nice nutty flavor, and the mocha was smooth and rich without being too sweet. The staff were super nice and friendly, which made the visit even better.
I also really liked the seating area — it has a great view of the bridge, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your ice cream. Overall, it’s a lovely place with good vibes, friendly service, and delicious ice cream. I’ll definitely come back to try more flavors next time!

11 Buddington Rd, GrotonI stopped into The Spot Café today to try the new menu and I was seriously impressed.
The Pear and Gorgonzola was a great start, the Fritters were super crispy, and the Carbonara tasted like real home cooking. The Mexican Street Corn Flatbread had a ton of flavor and the Salmon was cooked perfectly. I also tried the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the French Onion Burger—both were loaded with flavor. The Tuna Wonton Tacos were fresh and crunchy and ended up being one of my favorites.
You can tell they put a lot of love into this new menu—everything tasted like it was made from scratch. I’ll definitely be back!
