Kingsley Tavern
14 N Main St, KentAs an Elite Yelper, I really enjoyed our first visit to Kingsley Tavern.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming. The side entrance leads to a cozy outdoor lounge with couches and string lights that immediately set the tone. We were greeted warmly, seated quickly, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
The food was excellent. The stuffed squash blossoms were absolutely delicious, I could have ordered another plate! I also had the meatloaf with veggies and mashed potatoes , which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the Kingsley Burger and loved it.
The only miss for me was the watermelon drink. It looked refreshing, but it tasted more like sparkling seltzer water than the fruity drink I was expecting.
My only criticism is something I wish all restaurants would change: calculating suggested tip percentages after tax instead of before tax. It can make it seem like you’re tipping less than you actually are.
Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were wonderful, and we’d definitely come back. Worth the drive to Kent!

We tried a vanilla frosted & a strawberry frosted donut which were both pretty good! The highlight was definitely the icing they used on the strawberry frosted because there were tiny pieces of strawberry (or strawberry jam) in there which I don't see too often with strawberry frosted donuts!
The only subpar experience I had was trying the chocolate frosted vanilla cupcake. The cupcake base was pretty good but the frosting was a bit too bittery for my taste.
