“If you’re expecting luxury, this isn’t your destination. But if what you need is a straightforward, no‑nonsense place to rest your head for the night, this spot is a genuine bargain. The room was impressively clean, free of that telltale “cheap motel” smell, and—mercifully—free of the usual stained carpet. Instead, the shiny wood floors gave the space a fresher, more modern feel.
The bathroom was equally clean and fully functional, nothing fancy but nothing to complain about either. What really stood out was the management’s courtesy: they graciously extended my checkout time by a full hour without hesitation, a small gesture that made a big difference.
Overall, it’s a utilitarian stay done right—simple, clean, and considerate. If that’s what you’re after, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”

“The Old Lyme Inn is a classic New England setting. The wait staff was friendly and amiable. The Migration Madness Afternoon Tea was exquisite. Sandwiches, Scones, Petite Sweets and Harney & Sons Teas were presented beautifully and simply delicious. My favorites were ham biscuits, birdseed bark and lavender crème brûlée. Will definitely return on another day for dinner.”

“My husband and I stayed here in August for a few days so we could explore the area and spend time with my brother and his family, who were renting a cottage nearby. My mother came with us and rented her own room. It was the perfect home base to return to at night after spending an afternoon on a Lights and Sights cruise in New London and a day at the beach with my brother. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and affordable. We liked that it had well-stocked kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. The owner was friendly and accommodating when we made our reservation, and again when I had to change it to a different date. We were easily able to get into our room using a code. It's a super short drive to Niantic, so we could easily drive to the bakery in the morning to pick up breakfast sandwiches and grinders for the beach and had plenty of restaurants to choose from, including in nearby Westbrook. My only suggestion is for the room to have at least one comfy chair, as it is plenty spacious to fit one and I would have preferred to not sit on the bed at night to watch TV or on the breakfast bar stool to drink my coffee, though I understand this is a personal preference. I ended up bringing in a beach chair for these purposes.”

“I went to flagship and I couldn’t stay at their hotel because it was bad flagship has roaches bad smell so I left to check in in motel 6 and I was shock how well clean motel 6 was I like the woods floor their bed was nice and clean they just need to touch the bathroom was a little bit but still not bad flagship make motel 6 look like a luxury hotel I was happy with motel 6 I wish their price was a bit lower but it was a great stay”

“The room was great but they put a $200 hold on your account for over 3 days after. They didn’t mention a thing during check in. Also the hair dryer only has a concentrated tip now defuser. And even if you have a universal defuser it won’t work because if the attachment already on their blow dryer. I tried to bring my own and it did not work. The electrical system kept turning it off.”

“Beautiful Bed and Breakfast with THE best hotel breakfast I've had. Great location right on the water, super kind staff, and an adorable bunny right outside our breakfast nook window. Room and bathroom were clean and newly renovated, and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely be returning.”
