Pet Grooming

The Dog Den Grooming Spa
200 Church St, WallingfordBest grooming we have ever had over 20 years and 4 dogs. A little pricey, but WOW, it was worth it. They did a magnificent job and our dog loved it. She is so happy with her new look!

Village Pet Spa & Kennel
220 N Colony St, WallingfordI've been coming here since 1981. In other words I've been with Rod since he first started! My children were still in diapers. This place is professional, courteous, clean and it's obvious that they love animals. My cat gets a Lion cut which is perfect each and every time. My long haired German Shepherds always needed extra attention on their fur. When boarding is required there is no hesitation. My dogs arrive calm and are picked up happy. Years later , not only do I still remain a loyal client, but my three grown sons are also delighted and loyal to Rid and Village Pet Spa.

Yalesville Veterinary Hospital
322 Church St, WallingfordI’m new to the area so finding a veterinarian for my cat was difficult. Yalesville Did great with my cat which is a big deal because my cat only knows me so she’s Not friendly at all. Yalesville had me give my cat gabapentin the night before and again 2 hours before her appointment to calm her down. This REALLY helped, my cat was way more relaxed and let the veterinarian do everything they needed to do during her checkup including her immunizations.

Canine Cadre
521 Main St, WallingfordFirst I want to say Lenny is an amazing person! His passion is unmatched, and his staff is top notch! From the moment I walked through the door with my 4 month old male boxer I knew I had found the best of the best. (The terrific things I heard helped as well) The attention to detail of both myself and my dog, Colt were amazing. Lenny and his team noticed immediately Colt was a hard driven worker and afraid of nothing. He caught on very quickly and off we went thanks to their experience in identifying the needs of every dog. After our last session . Last May, Colt got sick and just recently got back to normal. Thankfully!Anyone looking for or trying to decide on a training facility either basic puppy training or obedience training, I would look not further!

New England Cider Company
110 N Plains Industrial Rd, WallingfordWhenever we happen to be in the area we tend to stop off here. I really wish they were local to us because they always have delicious ciders. I usually lean towards the sweeter side of things but they have dry as well.
They do flights of 4 and 6. They also serve pizzas if you're feeling a little hungry. They do have events here as well so make sure to follow their socials if you want to be in the know. The staff here have always been nice to us and answered all of the questions we have had. They also have quite a bit of games to play if you wish from their bookshelf of games

AL AQSA HALAL RESTAURANT / ISLAMABAD GROCERY & MEAT
1145 N Colony Rd, WallingfordThe food is really, really good, and everything is prepared at the time you order, so it's so fresh and good! Just eating the Tikka Masala now and had to provide this post. So good! My usual is the Lamb Gyro w/ Pita... Great taste and great value! I've been to different places around CT and this place can't be beaten. And the half-off cash payment Thursdays is an awesome deal. The only bad thing I would say about this place is that it isn't open all 7 days a week... ;)

Inferno apizza
628 S Colony St, WallingfordWe have been on a year long pizza tour. This place is awesome. Best crunch so far.. and the sauce is amazing. My son and I bought 3 large regular pies not knowing that we should've probably ordered the mozzarella..but we ate a pie and a half between us, and then I brought some home and we finished it all .. I could have run 10 miles after it. Very light and enjoyable. We are coming back for the mozzarella!

Gouveia Vineyards
1339 Whirlwind Hill Rd, WallingfordI was excited to try this vineyard after hearing about it since moving to Connecticut! Finally came on a beautiful day and enjoyed some drinks outside. First got the wine slushie which was nice and refreshing, and then got a bottle of rosè to enjoy afterwards. There weren't many people that day surprisingly. The grounds had lots of nice views.

Pokemoto
1094 N Colony Rd, WallingfordI've been stopping at this plaza for meals for years on the way north from NYC, but never tried Pokemoto. As a rule chain poke restaurants are not my favorites. Pokemoto has changed my opinion. The poke salad was generous as were the servings of fish and avocado (extra charge). I'm definitely coming back! One note: the dining area is not large, and was quite chilly. We opted to eat our dinner elsewhere because it was too cold to comfortably dine-in.

Wallingford Animal Shelter
5 Pent Rd, WallingfordI adopted 3 dogs within 6 months from WAC.They are the best decisions we ever made.Unfortunately, 2 have since passed away. But we are grateful that we had them for the time we had them for. Of course, forever is still not enough time. But the 2 and 3 years that we had with Simmie and Daisy, we will cherish forever. Thankfully, we still have Mia, and we would love to be able to find her a sister, brother or both...Only time will tellThank you WAC, and thank you my fur babies, for saving us.
