We originally had a meet and greet with Carol to dog sit for our two senior dogs for upcoming vacations we had not scheduled yet. A couple weeks after meeting her our previous sitters canceled less than 48 hours before a planned vacation. We reached out to Carol in a panic and she was able to accommodate sitting for us with the help of her husband George. They were both amazing! One of our senior dogs Oliver is over 50 pounds and immobile. They took the best care of him and even helped him gain some strength back in his legs. They administered medications and cleaned up his accidents. They kept us posted and left the house in order. We are so grateful and appreciative to them for coming through for us in a dire time and providing exceptional care for our babies.

I especially want to thank Barb for the extraordinary care she gives my dog. She truly goes above and beyond to make my dog feel safe and comfortable. My dog is afraid of slippery floors, and Barb thoughtfully places towels down during baths so my dog does not slide or become more anxious. I’m also so appreciative of the wonderful photos Barb takes and shares. It’s clear how much love and care she puts into her work every day.

First and foremost the staff was very friendly and helpful to a couple of Venezuelan food novices. Next the passion fruit juice I had and the tamarind one my wife had were hot excellent. The asado negro I had was tender sweet and delicious. The plantains were also excellent. The black bean and cheese empanada and cheese cachapa my wife had were also excellent. Will be returning. Would 100 percent recommend. These folks seem like they are working very hard, pay them a visit.

Be sure to save room for a scoop of gelato afterward—it’s absolutely delicious. It’s refreshing to find a place that still delivers this level of quality and authenticity these days. The Sappho lager, the Atia Japanese rice lager all truly great beers but the Ovidius sour is out of this world! Really friendly staff, real English pub vibes! To be honest, I’m surprised it’s not packed - it has absolutely everything! Use it or lose it Branford folks!

178 Thimble Island Rd, BranfordFour of us walked in here for lunch after the Thimble Islands tour. The place was well run and busy. Each of us ordered different sandwiches. We sat ourselves outside and enjoyed the view. Our food came promptly and we were all mostly very pleased with the quality. The only one complaint was about the quality of the croissant itself in one sandwich , but overall, we were very pleased with the taste. My turkey on a ciabatta was excellent. We would definitely return again!

284 East Main Street, BranfordIncredible meal at this very cute family owned restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff warm and friendly. For apps, I recommend the artichoke hearts, they had the perfect amount of lemon and came with a delicious pesto aioli sauce. We also got their eggplant ribbons which were great and the portion was huge. For pastas, we got the penne vodka, chicken piccata, and Rossitto macaroni — all excellent. Can’t recommend this place enough!

145 Block Island Rd, BranfordI’ve been here many times, but my family hosted a surprise 50th birthday for me recently and Dockside was the perfect spot. The lower outside level has its own bar area, space to lounge on cozy chairs and couches, enjoy some drinks, and watch the sunset over the water. Staff is friendly, apps have something for everyone, I highly recommend it for an easy date night, meet up with friends or host a party.
