“I gave this PO 5 stars a couple years back, and still rate it the same now in March 2026. The staff are always pleasant when I am there, to myself and other customers. sometimes customers get frustrated but this seems to be due to customers not fully understanding the system; or because of an extended wait when this PO is not adequately staffed. Always the staff are working hard and diligently. I would give this PO more stars if I could!”
“There was an older man who helped me out earlier today, and he was absolutely wonderful! I came in to send a large shipment of packages out and I mixed up two of the shipping labels. He did not make me feel bad and was really nice about the mistake, even when I got stressed out about it (was having a hard, emotional day). He also was so kind to everyone who came in and knew many of them personally, really showcasing how important community and postal service was. Really exemplary.”

“I have only lived in West Simsbury for about 8 months, but every interaction I have had with either the Post Office or mail carrier has been great. Going into the post office, they have always been super helpful. My mail carrier is awesome. He doesn't try to stuff items in my mailbox.”
“Visited the post office around 4pm on a Wednesday. The gentlemen working recognized that we were not super familiar with postage and kindly taped our package (while noting that it did need to be taped), helped us figure out the zip code to an address we were given the incorrect zip code to, and gave us the address of the nearest UPS for a return we needed to make through them. We were very thankful for his patience and assistance.”

So on this #ThankYouThursday I want to give a special "Thank You" shout out to Robin and Alex who have guided me and helped me over the last eight months.They've educated me on the ins and outs of Flat Rate boxes, First Class Shipping and Tracking options, Media Mail and the unbelievably expensive costs to ship things to Canada.This is the only place I use to mail out my cards and the like.So Thank You, Robin and Alex.#ThankYouThursday”

“I was ordering my passport, had never done a money order before and kept grabbing the wrong envelope. The passport lady was super understanding, helped me with signing and finding which documents I needed to send and which to keep.”
“I have always found the South Windsor post office to be a helpful place even on the times once a year when I come in with 20 packages. The postal clerks have never given me a hard time about it or been anything but friendly. I look forward to going there.”

“When you don't want to have to stop by the most busiest post offices, this lil' office is great for small drop offs! Unfortunately, they only employ a couple people at most at times, so if it does get busy, you'll have to wait.”

“I came here to apply for my passport and honestly had a great experience. Both Vicky and James were excellent, very kind, professional, and patient. They explained everything clearly and took their time to make sure I understood the process. I truly don’t understand why this location has bad reviews because the place was clean, organized, and the staff was very respectful. I never felt rushed or treated rudely; on the contrary, the service was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a very, very good experience, and I truly appreciate the great customer service, especially from Vicky and James. Highly recommended.”

“11/29/25 We walked into get passport for our 3 children. Asia greeted us very kindly and delivered speedy service. She walked us through the process and was very knowledgeable. My wife and I felt very welcomed and at ease with the whole process start to finish. Asia processed our paperwork quickly and accurately. Manuel patiently took our kids pictures even though some of the kids were wiggly. Top notch service. We are very pleased. A staff member came out and gave our kids activity books, stickers, and crayons to our kids. Very accommodating. Extremely professional and efficient! Thank you and Great Job Asia!”
“I walked in there feeling rather frustrated as two packages didn't show up. Not sure her name, but some gorgeous women dressed to kill opened the little door window which made me not so frustrated about having to drive about this morning. She took down the tracking numbers and went in back to figure it out. It took 5-10 minutes but when she came back out she had printed off a couple sheets to patiently explain to confused me what happened with my packages. Very helpful.”
“In this age of home delivery for everything... I found myself in need of a post office. I had Christmas presents that I wanted to send the old-fashioned way.
The two employees at the Maple Avenue brach were both busy, but both seemed friendly and helpful, and the line moved quickly.
This is only my second or third time at this post office, but I have not experienced a problem so far.”

“Typically efficient, and I'm able to get in & out in a reasonable amount of time.
Once in a while, they have fewer staff and if you happen to walk in at the same time as a bunch of others the wait can be longer. However, you can't plan for this.”
“I just moved here not too long ago, I came in with three small children with 4 items to send. The nice Lady in the tinkerbell hat (receipt says clerk 27) gave me an awesome experience with a speedy check out and great customer service. I would totally recommend this place! The service was awful, The agent in Simsbury treated me like an idiot and was rude..What a difference 4.7 miles makes.”

“Decent if you're using the self-service kiosk. There are times when it may be acting up, no physical receipt, trouble with the label scanner, but you can always have the digital copy sent to your email. Great for busy ebay and Amazon sellers.”
