“This is the best bank in the world IF what you care about includes: 1. Having an actual relationship with your banker(s): Keith, Athena, LaTasha, Maura and Scott are all simply awesome. They always go above and beyond to help make sure I get my questions answered and needs met. They always take time to answer my (often ridiculous) questions frequently asked at odd hours and yet always make me feel like a valuable customer. They are fantastic at their jobs and offer great advice. 2. Having a bank that actually lives their progressive values: Amalgamated Bank isn't one of those businesses that carts out a Pride flag in June or hands a 'Black Lives Matter' sign as a means of tapping into niche makets (though they both support lgbtq+ communities and the movement for Black lives). Amalgamated Bank is an org that actually 'walks the walk.' From making it possible to bank 'unbankable' communities including immigrants and others; to having a model that does not depend on charging absurd overdraft fees to poor and working class peopled to having a brilliant and diverse workforce that reflects our communities; to handling (with excellence) the needs of progressive political and non-profit organizations, to supporting important legislation that makes a huge difference in people's lives to taking the time to help customers that didn't grow up learning financial literacy (and have a ton of shame attached to that) and helping us not only make great choices but also ensuring that we actually learn more and become more competent and confident at managing our money. I honestly can't say enough about these folks other than I am so, so, so grateful they are a part of our community, I will never, ever, ever Bank at a major corporate bank again.”
