“The boutique has an amazing space with pillars and beautiful objects: the candles, the bottles of fragrance, the diffusers are all part of an high-end luxury experience. Not a single detail is amiss.And what strikes one as soon as one enters is the bewitching smell of the boutique. You step into sone sort of fairyland just with your nose.The candles smell divine. I loved La Droguerie scent, a mix of basil, tomato, and mint. Roses of course too. Figuier made me think of my youth. I liked less the very potent smoky fragrances which I prefer for my morning black tea.The staff is knowledgeable: we held a Master Class event for my organization in the boutique. It was very interesting ( I didn't realize I knew so little about candle care) and extremely well led by Matthew, the regional director.The prices are reflective of the quality of the products, all hand-made in France, but it's all worth it. A candle that burns for a long time and smells like paradise will be more expensive than one made industrially with chemicals in a container that you cannot recycle. Don't flinch at the price: when you buy that candle, you are also keeping skills alive, those of the people making the candles by hand and not in a sweat shop.”

Even the day-of delivery crew was top notch. There's something really gratifying about investing in incredible vintage furniture whenever possible (considering both selection and cost). “Patrick's is a beautiful gem on the Wharf. I see in the reviews below other shoppers mention their price point and the owner being "rude", but I'll have to come to their defense. The owner is not rude, he's actually a lovely person with a dry sense of humor, which I realize some may take as rude, but he is not. Getting to know him has been a treat. The owners of this business have been in interiors and decor for a long while and have a gift. Their store is stocked with classic high-end dinnerware, tableware, art, candles, jewelry, picture frames, and all sorts of home goods and beautiful treasures. Mixed in with the higher-end offerings are plenty of affordable and beautiful items, too. I think a sign of a well-made shop is one that provides goods for all variations of shoppers, which is a challenge, but Patricks does this well. Do yourself a favor and visit them. I shop here often and cannot say enough kind things! I am excited to see what they bring out for Easter!”

“We were in search of a small sofa bed that came highly rated and had the pleasure of working with the lovely Ruthchama Jean-Baptiste who patiently directed us to designs suitable for our space, before we settled on the Briar Sleeper Sofa in the Banks Oatmeal fabric. The ordering process was seamless and the men handling the delivery were careful, professional and quick. Now plans are underway to decorate the rest of the room and a matching ottoman from Joybird is the logical next step!”

“The entrance is on Jennifer Street NW and a bit tucked away. The store is wholly underground. It is surprisingly bigger than expected, with a vast assortment of home decor and seasonal items. I parked across the street in an underground garage across Wisconsin Avenue for only $6.50 for all-day parking. You can try your luck with street parking. They had a ton of Christmas clearance at 70% off. I bought a bunch of DIY paint canvases at $3 each--what a deal! They have several self-checkout registers and attendants to assist you.”

“We made a trip out to Room and Board in DC on Nov 7 2023 and were greeting on the 3rd floor by Jay Krich. He was such a joy. The epitome of great customer service. We need more Jays in the world. He seemed eager to assist, never pushy and even got us our couch before Thanksgiving after trying his hardest to make it happen. He followed up with us via phone call early the next day to let us know about our sectional coming early. We sent him an email asking to confirm the color of our sectional so we can purchase additional items for it and he was quick to respond and even attached a picture for us! How awesome is that?He never over promised and gave us detailed information on our purchase. Louine greeted in the store, and was able guide me through the selection of chairs, and because of my back problem I am very pickey about chairs. Answered all my questions and made a good recommendation of the product. Product was delivered in to my house the time they approximated. Did not have any issues, and will go back here anytime.”

“I needed a sofa of a specific height and I found one on the West Elm website. I went into the store the next morning and the sales person who helped me was great. He was knowledgeable about the sofa I wanted and performed the sale efficiently. He said that it would take up to two months to get the sofa, but a few days ago I got an email telling me they would deliver on Saturday, only one month after I ordered it. So unlike a lot of the reviewers here, I was very satisfied with the service of this store.”
