The Big Bad Woof
6960 Maple St NW, WashingtonGreat place, excellent staff and lots of options to keep your pet entertained. For food that isn't available, it can be ordered but give yourself a few extra weeks just in case things are on back order. Special shoutout to Terry who actually called me because she remembered I wanted something months ago that was out of stock that suddenly came in. It's folks like her that makes the experience enjoyable. Staff has taken time out of their day to look for things for me, with VERY limited information given to them (like me saying things like "It was in a ... plastic container? There were colors on it? I think was grain free? Definite, definitely cat food."). Their return policy is incredibly forgiving, and so long as you get your receipts in electronic form, they will take back food that's less than 30 days old and in their original container. It's almost like they know that pets are finicky little creatures.

2311 M St NW, WashingtonWe absolutely love VEG! We had an emergency with our pet and our local emergency vet was not taking any patients. We chose to try VEG and went to the M street location, where we were immediately checked in. The Vet came over within the first 15-20 minutes of us being there and immediately got to work on our dog. We can’t praise this place enough! Amazing staff, incredible knowledge and great service.

240 7th St SE, WashingtonWhen Dr Teich decided to start his own practice - me and my little ones followed! My experience over the years has been terrific. I never feel rushed - the vets take time to really understand what is happening with your pets. Not just what brings you in but how & what they are doing generally. The front desk staff are also just as great - helpful and accommodating. The locations make getting an appt. pretty easy. Whether I need to see Dr. Teich specifically or another vet - I will typically get the day and time I need. This is a super busy practice, for a good reason, so I appreciate this.

Armour Veterinary Ophthalmology
4105 Brandywine St NW, WashingtonHad a follow up with Dr Armour for my 113lb American bully Tank. Was a really good appointment. He had Entropin surgery in july to see if he was going to need a 2nd surgery. He is a big guy and they got him in a cloth muzzle because he is mouthy and at his size even a little bit of teeth can be alarming. He didn't mind much, and they had two techs help hold him. The exam was comprehensive, and Dr Armour was great with him. No need for another surgery just need to keep an eye on him in the future.

Herwald Bruce T DVM
609 2nd St NE, WashingtonThere is no other vet in DC I would trust to care for our dear, sweet, elderly basset house. We've gone to Union Vet Clinic for the last 7 years, since moving to DC. The entire staff is always so wonderful and Dr. Gross has been our trusted vet the entire time, but if ever Dr. Gross is out, we have always received wonderful care from the other Doctors on staff. I must say, sometimes it is very stressful coming in because of our dog's advanced age and not knowing what is wrong with her. But seeing the wonderful front desk staff at the clinic always makes it easier. Rebecca is always so helpful on the phone and Nesha is so sweet and always asks how our sweet girl is doing, even when I am just there solo to pick up medication. Bryce is so amazing and empathetic whenever we come in with an issue, I can tell he truly cares and he has also stayed late to help me pick up medicine. He constantly goes above and beyond to help us. And Christian the vet tech is always so tender with our sweet old girl! Union Vet Clinic is truly a family, they are incredibly skilled and compassionate and I'd recommend them to anyone he needs expert care for their furry best friends!

Paw’Cierge
339 I St SE, WashingtonPaw'Cierge's services were above exceptional. I have had my dog for 10 years and had a few dog sitters/walkers, but I have never been happier (and neither has my dog).I have been away for 6 days, so I was very worried about taking Donny (my Boston Terrier) to a dog hotel because she is an older lady and feels more comfortably at home. Paw'Cierge saved my trip! I was able to keep her at home and schedule frequent visits even on New Years Eve. Every morning I received a detailed report and multiple videos of my fur baby having the time of her life. I don't think I've ever seen her that excited. She also got her medicine, food and long walks. When I got home, my kitchen was clean and even my trash was taken out. If I could give a rating higher than 5 stars, I would!P.S. Her care giver even wrote a beautiful poem about Donny!

Well Done Charlie Dog Training
611 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, WashingtonToni helped our dog Boh get his life back. Boh came to us with pretty severe separation anxiety to the point where he could not control his feelings unless we were both home with him; and it would require an hour of soothing from whoever was left to care for him.Thank goodness we came across Toni who may be the dog's trainer, but she really was our therapist and confidant, and an advocate for Boh with his vet and behaviorist to make sure he got the right medications and treatments to assist his training. In the 18 months we trained with Toni, she not only helped Boh through his separation anxiety - my partner and I got date night back! - but she also helped out with various other training needs like Boh's leash reactivity and front door reactivity.Truly forever grateful to Toni who stuck with us through the highs and lows of building Boh's confidence and helped all 3 of us reclaim our lives.

Susie's Pet Care
1613 Harvard St NW APT 215, WashingtonWe connected with Susie shortly after we adopted a Westie mix from the animal shelter. Our dog (Sophie) dealt with reactivity issues when we went outside for walks. Susie worked with us extensively to both improve Sophie's comfort level around other dogs and also how we could distract her through the use of positive reinforcement and clicker training. We greatly appreciated Susie's time and her willingness to ago above and beyond to help with with Sophie. She came to us for training, joined us in our nearby park (Meridian Hill Park), and even offered up her building front yard for long leash training. She provided necessary tools to help us and was all around a great trainer to work with. We can't recommend her highly enough.

District Dogs Training
3210 Georgia Ave NW, WashingtonWe really love the Park View location of District Dogs for their structured daycare. Jed Bartlet (my 11mo Portie puppy) has been going to the Shaw location since he was fully vaccinated as a wee pup. The DD staff were with him through all the feisty puppy phases, including shark teeth! When Jesse Levine left Shaw and went to Park View, we checked it out. Had I realized that the Park View location was just as far of a walk for us and offered structured, we would have probably started there even though Shaw is more convenient for my commute. Jed absolutely loves daycare, regardless of the location, but I love the structured option because of the smaller group of doggos, individual attention, and planned activities throughout the day. I always receive much more thoughtful and detailed report cards at the Park View location, and every single staff member is top notch! I have never seen them just sitting in the corner on their cell phones; all staff are always playing with the dogs, giving scratches, and reinforcing good manners like not jumping on people and sitting before going in and out the door. Jed has never once come home from Park View smelling like he walked through or laid in pee -- which is a pretty regular occurrence at the other location, unfortunately. It is more expensive than regular daycare but, for us, it is worth it. We also pay the $65/mo fee to use the Bark Park outside and Jed loves to play there and get out his zoomies off-leash a few times a week, regardless of whether we are at daycare that day. We have done a Dump the Jump class and a private lesson with Avi Israeli, the trainer at Park View, as well. Avi is lovely and really knows his stuff! When Jed got pneumonia over the summer, we couldn't use 7 of our 10 expensive structured daycare credits. I kept him out of daycare for at least a month past the date the doc said he could go back and, when we got to daycare, they extended our package for three weeks with no issues whatsoever! I was so grateful. Jesse's last day was earlier this week and both Jed & I are terribly sad, but we're going to keep going! Small things that would make this location even better: - Longer expiration dates on the packages (as is, both the 10-day and 20-day packages expire in 45 days. 20 is more economical but I can't use it in that time and even the 10 is difficult, depending on my work schedule). - The pickup/dropoff window is just about 30mins too short for my work day. The additional commute time from this location makes me have to hustle in both directions in order to work an 8.5 hour day and walk/metro commute 45mins each way. I would use this location every in-office day if the times were just a bit more flexible one way or the other. 15 mins on each end would be ideal :) - The camera system isn't great at this location. It buffers a lot and seems like a different system than the other locations so I rarely log in while Jed is at Park View. Much of the day, his play group is out of rotation anyway so you just see an empty (but clean!!) room.

Dog Child, Dog Walking & Pet Care
Glover Park, WashingtonLisimba and Jessica are earth angels. They helped save my dog's life tonight- if they hadn't responded to my text as quickly as they did, I would've spent and wasted precious time looking for an animal hospital (I'm not from DC), but instead, I was able to bring my girl to a trusted facility, and quickly. She had surgery and is still there, and not out of the woods- but I could not end this crazy day without thanking them and sharing with the world how grateful I am to these people. 5 Stars is not nearly enough. They genuinely care about our animals. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

PrintWithMe Print Kiosk at Heat Da Spot
3213 Georgia Ave NW, WashingtonI had avoided this place, just 2 minutes walk from my house, for the longest time. First I thought it was a junkfood type coffee and sandwich place. Then when I realised it wasn't fully that, I still thought the name was totally dumb. I did know that I can't keep avoiding it forever, thus, a few months after my friendly neighbourhood convenience store owner heavily talked it up, I went. It is an Ethjiopian-owned spot that caters to the typical coffee shop crowd. They have a mix of normal fare, and some lowbrow version of fusion Ethiopian dishes. I had their altered variant of chechebsa. It wasn't bad as long as I didn't think of it as chechebsa. The place is tiny and quite cosy. I know I'll go back.

It was created in England in the 1800s and is one of the fastest growing sports in the world today. It’s a team sport played with 15 players per team on the field at a time (or 7 for another version of the sport). You run with the ball, pass the ball (but only backwards) and kick the ball, with the ultimate goal of touching the ball down when you have passed your opponent’s goal line (its called a try line), all while avoiding being tackled by your opponents. If you don’t know rugby yet, the Tight Five Pub is the perfect place to watch a game and fall in love. Or you can just look it up on Wikipedia, but where’s the fun in that?
