Even after their change to corporate vet, we are super pleased that the staff remains mostly the same. Our cat was recently seen by Dr. Foster, a contract vet with 27 years of emergency vet experience. She was professional and caring. Fortunately, the conservative option for our cat’s treatment worked and he avoided a costly surgery. I recommend this practice and their professionals.

I was able to stay with my rabbit during the exam. Dr. Schwartz explained what he was doing throughout the exam, and what the test results meant. He was kind, patient, and answered all my questions without rushing. I left with a clear understanding of the treatment I would do at home. I feel my bunny is in good hands at this practice. I highly recommend Wheaton and will be coming here from now on.

5000 Nicholson Ct, KensingtonWe can not say enough good things about Paw by Paw Dog Training. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful from the first day that I called. Our rescue dog Norman worked with Radiance and Hannah for the 3 week Doggie Day School and their training with him was awesome. They gave detailed reports and genuinely were as excited as we were when he made progress. He learned so much about impulse control, how to stay on his place, do down and sit and so much more. Rowan is an exceptional trainer as well and during our lessons he taught us how to provide praise and structure for Norman which has been a game changer for his happiness and for our family. We are continuing to learn and reinforce everything with Rowan and Jesse in the outstanding graduate group classes. We are really grateful to everyone for their guidance and encouragement.

10811 Pearson St, KensingtonI highly recommend Valerie and David with Comfy Pets! I can't say enough great things about them! We just got back from our trip, the first without our puppy, and I wanted to write this review immediately. Ever since our first interaction with Valerie and David, we were impressed. They're so nice, organized, professional, experienced, and thoughtful with all their questions, paperwork, and preparations. We were nervous about going away, and they put us at ease immediately. They answered all our questions, and let us visit so we could meet in person and our dog could see what his "camp" would be like. Our puppy took to them right away and felt immediately comfortable in their home. We knew this was going to be the perfect arrangement for him! Everything was like an answer to our prayers! They have a large fenced-in yard, allow only 1 other dog at the same time (and it was also a small one), the dogs are able to roam throughout most of the house without having to be in cages, they'll allow your pet's toys and blankets, and they'll even feed him the special way we sometimes have to. Valerie also regularly texted and emailed updates with pictures to let us know how our puppy was doing, which made us so comforted and relieved when we were gone. We can't say enough great things about Comfy Pets! We're so grateful to them and will totally use them every time we go away. They are amazing!

The K9 Class
4090 Howard Avenue, KensingtonRon and his team at the K9 Class are truly life savers if you have a dog with reactivity (or really any dog). I have two Akitas who can both be dog reactive, due to the wrong kind of socialization and training in their formative years. They cannot just be sent to any daycare where it's a dog free for all (and having done this when they were puppies didn't help). At K9, the dog handlers/minders are all professional dog trainers and you can pick 1, 2, or 3 training sessions for each day, so it's more like school than daycare. After 6 months at K9, I can see so much progress. Not every day, but pretty frequently, you will get a report card with videos and photos, a description of their day, the pup's mood, and who they made friends with. The trainers are great to work with in private sessions as well. Personally, I love the continuity of working with the people who are spending all day with my dogs. Ron is a master trainer with a wealth of knowledge. Love training with Hugh because of his relaxed demeanor, which makes each session not only a learning experience, but fun. I think the best advertisers for a good training facility are the dogs they work with. Every dog I have seen in the report card videos and that have been a part of my dogs' training sessions are socially adept, respectful, and responsive to what the trainers SAY to them (without leash or e-collar), especially the dogs that have been with K9 since they were puppies. This is a community of well behaved dogs, but ones that are still happy and showing their personality. I feel safe sending my dogs to K9 and feel really lucky to have these guys in my neighborhood.

An outstanding beer and wine selection. The staff is great and Volker in particular has been super helpful in giving us beer recommendations and info.
If you decide to dine in they have a really nice food menu and always have a great draft list with a bunch of local Maryland beers on tap.
