“I can't say enough glowing things about the staff here. I had to put my fur baby down and they were amazing at such an emotional time . They are a 24 hour vet. But their prices were reasonable. So many places will charge you an arm and a leg because they know you don't have a choice. That is not the case here. They are compassionate. They have so many specialist on staff . I highly highly recommend them if you are in a time of need.”

“Had a regular check up with Dr. Gustavo, I can say from trying multiple vets around Tampa, he and the staff are some of the best. They took their time with us explained everything during the appointment, actually saw them do the tests, bloodwork, shots and various exams. All while educating me about preventive treatment for my healthy 10yr old terrier and pointing out things I can do to improve my dogs life. All in all, great people who really care about animals and want to help. Would recommend!”
“Dr Drake was our vet from the mid-90’s until we moved away from Tampa. After trying a few vets (3) near us over the last few years and not being happy with the care we received, we decided it is definitely worth the hour drive each way to use Southpaw Animal Health. “I brought my toy poodle to get her teeth checked and she needed it clean. They took her in within 2 weeks. She was bad shape and started to show signs that her teeth was effectively causing harm to her health. Been 7 days and she herself again. I love the staff and have a positive feeling when I walked in. My little girl wasn’t nervous and did very good with her! I am glad Saint Francis is now her vet!! I know everything going up of cost, it’s good to know she will be healthy to live long life and happy. Happy dog, happy Me!!!”

“Very clean and the staff there are the best. The vets really show they care about doing the best for my Pom-Poo Penny. I trust them 100% with the care of my dog. I love the way they light a candle when someone had to have their pet put to sleep and they have a sign by the candle asking people to talk softly because someone has lost their beloved pet. I've never seen anyone do that before and it certainly shows they care. “I can’t speak highly enough about my experience today. My cat Lily is 10, almost 11 years old and doesn’t have a good track record with the vet. Today was my first time at Hughes animal clinic and I don’t think I will take my cat anywhere else again. The whole staff deeply cares about animals and the doctor was sharing how this is a fear free clinic and he has literally taken classes to help learn this method so the animals aren’t scared. My cats last trip to our prior vet, she was terrified. She had peed all over herself. She was hissing, biting, and scratching, and our prior vet just didn’t really seem to care that she was so uncomfortable and scared and was being a bit rough with her. I had given her some gabapentin before coming in today due to Dr. Hughes recommendation. Lily was so good with how she handled everything and the staff knew she didn’t handle the vet good in the past so, they gave her a warm towel with cat pheromones to keep her calm. While we were waiting to pay and she was back in her carrier, they put some cotton balls soaked in the pheromones in her carrier so she wasn’t uncomfortable at any point. I feel so relieved to know I finally found somewhere that cares deeply about the animals that come in!! Lily and I couldn’t be more grateful!❤️”
“Started off going here last year for my senior kitty for asthma then took my other cat here after we received really good care they are all so intentive and passionate about every cat the atmosphere here if top tier they understand any situation and always do what’s In the best interest of kitty”

“I called Gulf Coast when my dog, Jackson was having an emergency and my typical vet couldn't take us. Gulf Coast took us right away and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in the door, the girls at the front desk were so welcoming and the technician that helped us was so sweet and caring towards my pup and I. Then we met Dr. Hamilton. Jackson is almost 14 years old and I have NEVER met a vet like Dr. Hamilton. He was the kindest person and took so much care in examining Jackson and learning about his medical history. I will never forget the concern he had for Jackson's current condition and providing explanations and details in ways for me to understand. I was very overwhelmed with the level of care Dr. Hamilton and the staff provided us and we will absolutely, without a second thought, be using this veterinarian office moving forward. I am so thankful to have found them!”
