My name is Flora. I moved away from Atlanta about two years ago to help my younger son and his wife with the kids. He worked out of town, and she went back to school to become an RN — and she did it. I’m so proud of them.
But okay, okay… back to the greatness here.
I found Extra Space Storage because it wasn’t far from my home, and I needed to move quickly. I completed the paperwork and headed to Texas. When it came time to pay my storage bill, I called in and ended up speaking with an amazing person — who I didn’t realize at the time was the property manager.
I explained that I needed to pay over the phone because, as a “young senior,” I don’t always know how to use all this technology the real seniors seem to master. Debbie was kind, polite, patient, and truly a joy to talk to.
Every month for the last two years, I spoke with Debbie. Over time, we built a rapport that felt like a friendship — the kind where it feels like you’ve known someone forever. Those kinds of friendships feel like family.
Fast forward to recently: I moved again and needed one last thing handled so my movers could access the unit and bring my belongings all the way to West Texas. As always, Ms. Debbie was a lifesaver.
