“We were returning our car to Avis and I was a little worried about going to Costco for gas, fearing long lines and delays. Well, as others have said, the longer lines are in the afternoon when people get off work. In the mornings, there are minimal lines. We literally pulled right up to a pump at 8:20 am and then filled up immediately. The card terminal recognizes your Costco Visa as your membership/payment card, or you can scan your Costco card. There are helpful Costco employees right there to help you and keep it moving. Then it's about 3 minutes to the rental car return center although we did miss the last turn in the airport loop and ended up exiting the airport and doing an illegal u-turn to get back in there.

50 cents cheaper than nearby Aloha gas and super efficient and clean. There are stickers on the readers so you know your card is not being stolen/cloned because the stickers have dates and you can see the seal. Otherwise just tap to pay.

Awesome addition to Maui!!!! Premium and regular, no diesel. Extremely efficient, just go.”

“The price here is the lowest publicly accessible price for gas on the island. It usually is exactly the same price as Costco. Lions move faster and you can use a variety of credit cards other than just Visa”

“Place was so busy on our way to the airport we couldn't get gas. Restroom as of Oct 13 2024 was also closed, but they do have one - just don't know when it will open back up.

Nothing bad about the place in general besides those”

“I haven't put gas in a car in the last 6 years. From my recollection of annoying advertisements and slow pumps, I was not looking forward to fueling my rental. However, the experience here was smooth and hassle free.”

“Maui's first Safeway fuel station and Safeway Express convenience store is now open at the Ho'okele Shopping Center along with a brand new Safeway store. Access points are from Pulehu Road (side road) or on Ho'okele Street from the east-bound lanes only.

FUEL STATION:
It's three islands wide for a total of 18 pumps that are spaced far apart so there's lots of room to maneuver around. And the kicker? The price per gallon was only 4-cents higher than Costco Gas, a small price to pay should you need fuel at peak times. I'm 99% sure they're open 24/7. My friend put in her Safeway number but didn't receive any discount on gas ($3.17/gal); not sure if she doesn't have any points or what.

EXPRESS STORE:
Safeway's version of a gas station convenience store has all the bells and whistles inside. Pokē bowls, soft serve, hot dogs, coffee stations, and alcohol are available in addition to the usual offerings. They even have a walk-in beer refrigerator! A Bank of Hawaii ATM is inside too.

OVERALL:
New, clean, and competitive.”

“It’s all about the fried chicken and potato wedges at Minit Stop, a Maui chain that also expanded to the Big Island.

They’re a gas station and convenience store. This location has a handful of prepared foods including cold sandwiches, salads and even Spam musubi.

Service is always friendly.”

“Very efficient and friendly service from both the person at the cash register and the person who filled two propane tanks for me. Good price on propane and can bring my own new tanks instead of the beat up old tanks at the tank exchange places. Mahalo Texaco Family! :)”

“Stopped here to fill up the rental car before heading back to the airport. Standard gas station convenience store. Got some jerky and unsweetened tea. One drawback was that one of the packs of jerky on the rack was growing mold. Good thing I didn't accidentally grab that one. On a positive, I was allowed to use their bathroom in the employee area which was really clean.”
