“Booked BIG Island buggy last min as we realised that we forgot to book a car for Kona. I called the morning that our cruise arrived and the gentleman was so kind and was able to book me in. My wife and I arrived there and we were greeted by the owner and his wife and they were beyond awesome. They gave us a map with some great ideas on where to go based off what we had in mind. I do not often post reviews but felt the need to give these guys the credit they deserved. Thanks again!”
“We had an amazing time with our Daisy Jeep Wrangler. Easy pick up & drop off, no extra wait time. The goodies (cooler, bodyboard, picnic chair) really made our trip more fun!”
“The agents we interacted with at both check-in and drop-off were easily the most friendly and helpful at any airport car rental office ever. I hope they get paid well for their services. Also, our pick-up was late at night and still it was the quickest and most straightforward I've ever seen. The agent basically checked the reservation I had on file after confirming last name and license and walked us directly to the car we would be taking. While we were busy getting our bags and persons loaded in, they filled out mileage, condition, and more on their handheld kiosk which saved us having to deal with any of that. They confirmed when done and advised us to have a good trip. They did not bother asking the usual nonsense questions that were already in the booking as has been my experience in the past. And because someone was present for both check-in and drop-off there was no need for manual form filling on our end outside of the digital booking from months in advance. Loved this through and through. I wish every rental car experience was this amazing!”

“Nicole was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I met her, she was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. She took the time to help me find the car that was the best fit for my trip, BMW X3 (which was excellent), but what really made the experience special was everything beyond the rental itself.
Nicole gave me so many amazing recommendations for places to visit, things to do, and ways to enjoy the Big Island. It honestly felt like I was getting a rental car and a personal local travel guide at the same time! 😂🌺 Her recommendations made my trip even more memorable.
I would absolutely go back to Nicole the next time I visit the Big Island, and I highly recommend her not only for finding the right rental car, but also for some great local advice on how to experience this beautiful island.

“We had a very pleasant experience with Payless rental, their shuttle drivers were extremely friendly and helpful and were constantly helping with passengers' luggage's big or small. There was quite a line but it was moved efficiently. We signed up for a suv and asked specifically if we may have a jap suv for fuel efficiency and drivability. There was no aggressive selling pitches and everyone seemed quite happy working there. No issue or over charge when returned. And the price was competitive.”

“The car was great, but the service engine light was on. I reported it and they gave me the option to take another car, but I was OK with it if the service rep was as the car was running fine. There was also a piece of headlight trim, missing, which I also reported and took pictures, but the service rep appeared to be OK with it. I only wish that the reps would document these issues when they’re reported And the customer should get an email confirming that.”

“Car had a little under half a tank at recieval which I thought was odd. Regardless my flight was like nearly 2 hours delayed and per policy Alex and his team were here to take care of us. I really appreciated their patience and taking care of us so we too could head home for the night.
Despite several negative reviews I think the people working this location do the best they can with what they have.”

“I had an excellent experience with Alamo Kona Airport. The service was very good, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout. They offered me a great upgrade option at a reasonable price, which I appreciated. There were no lines, making the process quick and smooth. The selection of Jeeps available was impressive, and the car I received was almost brand new in perfect condition. The manager was especially helpful in setting up Apple CarPlay for me, which made my trip even easier. Overall, Alamo Kona Airport is an excellent choice with very nice people providing top-notch service.”
