“The staff here is INCREDIBLE!! We had a car issue on vacation and the staff was amazing (not the Alamo car center) but the local staff.
They were friendly at pickup, drop-off and with the car issue. This Aloha spirit they have and customer service hands down would make me choose this car rental company in Kauai time and time again.
Side note - my parents were with us on vacation, chose a different rental car company our customer service experiences were night and day

“We rented An older ACed Corolla with RAW and everything went smoothly. The car worked fine, was clean, and cost was as advertised. I got to use my old Bluetooth radio transmitter so I could use my phone for map audio which was perfect. Besides having a few bells and whistles I don’t see the reason to rent a new car and pay 2X more. I also liked the personal attention to detail and being able to work with a local business. Our Uber driver didn’t even know about this company which was a kick. Great service-
We forgot something small in the car and RAW mailed it to us promptly. Getting Uber to/from location was easy. Lyft was a bit less expensive. 10$ each way.
We will definitely use again. Thank you RAW!”

“Our flight was delayed by 4 hours. We landed around 1am. The bus pulled up and took us to our rental. They stayed open late so ensure we had our car ready. Super fast check out and check in. The car was spotless. Really appreciate the service.”

“I had a good experience with Dollar. The shuttle was convenient, the staff was friendly and I didn't have a problem with my reservation or my car. The car had many scratches, so I took pictures with my phone, but they didn't give me any trouble when I returned it. Overall a good experience!”
“I was nervous after I booked this because of the many recent bad reviews, but I had a great experience. I booked through Expedia and didn’t get hit with any extra fees or hidden charges. I didn’t wait in line and the entire transaction took all of 5 minutes. Car was clean, ran great, and I had no issues. “We had no issues getting our car here. We did have to wait in line for a little while which is to be expected when renting a car. They even upgraded our car. our car was clean and we enjoyed riding around in it. The rental place itself was clean. The staff was nice. The shuttle to and from the airport was to be expected with a smooth ride and helpful driver.”
“Overall, I would highly suggest renting a car through Thrifty’s. The only thing to note is the DEPOSIT! If you are using a debit card, there is a $500 hold on your account in addition to your payments. If using a credit card, there is a $200 hold in addition to your payments. Be prepared!
Additionally, there are 3 insurances options available. Be prepared to either use your own insurance or purchase some there.
Lastly, they also have an island map available for you which was extremely helpful!”
“I rented a car in early January. I was worried when I was reading these horrible reviews while taxiing to our gate. I’m so glad to say that my experience was fantastic, much better than most of these reviews suggest. The shuttle arrived promptly, I was connected with a counter agent quickly, and they had me in my car within about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, when I was looking at the other agencies from the shuttle bus window, the lines were 20+ people deep.
The car was in great condition. Drop off was super simple. I was charged as expected. I’ll definitely be using dollar the next time I rent in Lihue. Mahalo!”
