66-1520 Pu'u Huluhulu Road, WaimeaMy cat had a severe abscess and infection. My normal vet missed a through and through cat bite in my little cat’s ear. As a result, my cat’s ear became grossly infected and abscessed. My usual vet doesn’t take emergency calls.
I literally spent all day today calling around trying to find vets. They all advertise that they see “emergencies,” but refuse to see a new patient as an emergency. I was denied by five vets and was desperate. I even drove an hour and a half to Kona to go to an animal “urgent care” that was booked out and couldn’t see me on an urgent basis.
I called Dr Jaclyn in desperation and she went above and beyond to see my little cat on an emergency basis on the weekend!
She came in on her day off and even called me and walked me through directions while I was driving to ensure I would find her facility.
When I got there, both her and her tech came in on an emergency basis. Not just one person, but two! Both were extremely knowledgeable, concerned and experienced.
She spent a lot of time with me and my cat and explained everything in detail. Nothing was rushed. She did a procedure on my cat and gave me the best quality products to take home for wound care.
She’s truly a gem. A true old school, hard working veterinarian who handles true emergencies- rather than just wanting to work 9 to 5 like all the rest!
When I was there, I learned that she sees all types of animals which is great because it shows a greater breadth of knowledge.
She also very nice, down to earth, and kind.
She also charge me a reasonable fee given she and her staff came in on a weekend!
If I could give a ten stars, I would!

Hokus food truck
Kaumualii Highway, WaimeaI got the crusted Ono from hokus food truck at the Hanapepe art walk. The fish was good, but the Mac salad was THE BEST MAC SALAD I'VE EVER HAD. I don't know what he put in it, but it was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend getting the Mac salad with whatever other order you get.

Although I enjoyed the other coffee, I didn’t realize how much of a Kona fan I was until I brewed the first pot of Pele Plantation coffee after drinking the other coffee for a few weeks. What a difference.Everyone who drinks coffee at my house loves it but most are not willing to make the investment in perfect beans. They wonder why my coffee is so good. It all starts with the Pele Plantation beans. They are never bitter and are always smooth.

9875 Waimea Road, WaimeaWe are here on the way home from Waimea. The service was excellent. The woman at the front able was very nice and helped us find the right sized portions. I ordered three tacos (which was more than I needed). I loved two of them and the third one I had was ok. I don’t recall which of them they were, but one was recommended by that same woman at the front desk and she nailed it. I would eat here again. I would make the suggestion to get a soda machine. They only sell by the can and bottled water that’s overpriced. Same with their sodas.
