“This is seriously the best place to get steel toed boots. My husband has used them for years. The last pair he bought were hurting his feet bad even though they were his normal brand/size/style. After a month of trying to figure it out he went inside and they traded his boots for a different pair that was the same size/style/brand. The strange pain went away.
I have also walked in a few times to pick up his repairs. Yes, they do repairs! They never made me wait more than 5 minutes.”
“I had been looking for a new pair of shoes and never professionally had my foot correctly sized so had always just been buying a size or 2 bigger depending on the brand because of how wide my foot is and stores usually not carrying wider sizes in store.
Art was extremely helpful and polite in Golden Shoes and I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a new pair of shoes.
10/10 probably will not ever go anywhere else for shoes again.

“What an amazing staff Rita was outstanding was so helpful brought out multiple pairs of shoes with all types of recommendations evaluated my feet said I needed arc support what a correct statement that was the owner Mel stoped said hi gave me some words of encouragement on my weight loss journey definitely needed to hear those words. And then finally the perfect shoe for my feet was brought out tested with some walking outside which they allowed what a gem of a store I know why they have been in business for so long because they really do care. “Ive been shopping at Jmd sox outlet for over 40 years the original store on Harlem. I went back to get my son work sox for Christmas. I was not disappointed. Not only did I find great deals on sox, he got some nice Carhart gear too! The staff were great & helped me find what I was looking for. Quick check out, & they let me know how long I have to take them back for a refund. Ill be shopping here for the next 40 years !”

“A couple of weeks ago, I had an excellent experience at the Skechers store on 95th & Western in Evergreen Park.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted promptly with genuine courtesy. On a visit the day before, I spoke with two team members, Gerard and Chris about a potential return. Both were respectful, professional, and incredibly helpful. What stood out most was that they treated every customer in the store with that same level of care and attention. Even though I couldn’t complete my return that day, they reassured me it would be handled quickly when I came back.
When I returned, I explained that the shoes I purchased weren’t suitable due to ongoing foot concerns. Manager Mo stepped in and handled everything with patience, professionalism, and kindness. I mentioned I was in a bit of a rush for a family movie night, and noticing that I use a cane, she made sure the process was quick, smooth, and stress-free.
The store itself was clean, well-organized, and fully stocked. The staff struck the perfect balance between being professional and genuinely welcoming.
As an older customer, retail experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming, but not here. I felt comfortable, respected, and well taken care of. It was especially refreshing to see young employees take such pride in delivering excellent service.
This is my neighborhood store, and I will absolutely continue to support it. I highly recommend it to family, friends, and neighbors for their outstanding customer service and care.”
