“Took my girlfriend in to get a new complete skateboard (her first one in 10 years or so) and the dudes were the coolest at this shop. they weren't trying to upsell us on anything and let us browse for a long time before making any decisions. i wish i lived in chicago so i could come back to this shop again. easily a 5 star experience you wouldn't get at zumiez in the mall (:”
“I attended a fantastic workshop with Alex today. She is a superb teacher and kind generous soul. We were coached through our creative experience with just enough help to keep our ideas in reach as total newbies. I thoroughly recommend”
“I chose Hall Madden on the recommendation of a friend for my custom wedding suit. I was blown away by the ease of the process and the final product. Mattie was attentive to the type of suit I was looking for and helped get me fitted for a suit, a shirt, a tie, and custom leather shoes. I will absolutely be recommending Hall Madden to any friends looking for a custom suit.”
“This is an incredible place for heels. Gary is a life-long expert. I have bought many pairs over the years. Prices are very reasonable. Going here means supporting a queer, locally-owned business. Be sure to call ahead and confirm he's in, as it's all a 1-man show and hey, life happens.”
“The service you receive is second to none. I've been a customer for many years and appreciate the selection in our community. Especially for footwear, and outdoor clothing.”

500 N Michigan Ave, Chicago“Fantastic staff. So helpful. The down side is they are not keeping any wide shoes for those of us with wide feet. The overall experience was so much better than the store down the street”
“This is a great store. I hadn't ever heard of it until my friend recommended we take our babies to get fitted and check out shoes. Even though my GPS was telling me where to go, I didn't see it until I was right in front of it. Service was fantastic. The moment we walked in we were greeted even though the place was super busy (it's a madhouse on weekends, apparently) and the woman came by to help us within a couple minutes. This store has been in business since 1961, passed through the family, and it's clear why they've been around so long what with their great service and merchandise. It was the first time that both our kiddos had ever had shoes. She measured them both, and explained what we should look for in shoes; the brand I bought, Stride Rite, she said is usually pretty true to size but if we went with one of their other brands they'd have to go up a bit. Both babes walked (or rather, strolled and were carried) away with a pair of shoes and we'll be back in August to re-size. They have a couple of toy stations to keep bored kids busy, which is a great touch. Since my baby is still just at the creeping stage and standing assisted, she doesn't wear shoes so that she can get used to the feel of her feet and the ground beneath them. But when we go for a walk or something they'll be good for her to have on her feet while she's being strolled. So although the shoes are not cheap by any means--I spent more on her shoes than I often spend on mine--I was ok with it since she's only going to have one or so at a time. And they're good brands, high-quality shoes, which is important for growing feet.”
“My experience at Fleet Feet was great. I got great service. I bought some fine walking shoes that fit perfectly. The store is well located & pleasant. The person who attended me was helpful, interesting, knowledgable & upbeat. I also bought Fleet Feet socks. Super tight at ankle -no "give", no flexibility to them, like compression socks. Will return them. BUT buy more of the same walking shoes!”
“Only two stores like this are in town. The other is on Cicero and Irving . I asked the owner why he didn't have a big store sign outside. His response is " I don't need one ". He was telling the truth. I'll be going there for quality and specialty work wear, for years to come.”

2545 North Clark Street, Chicago“James preserves the almost lost art of dying silk shoes to match a dress or gown. His shoes are gorgeous silk and he matched my ruby gown to perfection. So elegant, so sophisticated, so unique! I highly recommend his service!”
“Nakita was great! She spent a lot of time with me finding a good shoe that worked with my mileage and running style. Highly recommend. Fleet feet seems to have a wonderful and caring staff!”
“Went there to find shoes for a party. I was very shocked to see the sales associate was in the store all alone by herself. I went on a very cold wet Sunday afternoon in December. She was extremely professional the entire time. Helpful with getting me the right size. I bought 2 pair of shoes. Great place to find shoes from casual to dressy.”
“Such a cute Rothy’s location. The staff were extremely helpful and made great suggestions on men shoes. They were very knowledgeable about each shoe, which helped me understand the different styles.”
“My first experience at The Alley was in the mid 90s on Clark during my goth phase. That store had it all. I have since moved away from the area but try to make it in there when I'm in town. I'm happy to see that it is still thriving in its new location. You rock. ☠️☠️☠️”
“Jamie the store manager was absolutely amazing from when I called the store to see if they had the style I was looking for (they did and she put them to the side for me) to treating me like a king on his throne. She made my sale less painful; I bought a new side bag too, so I spent a pretty penny, but I deserved it and she made certain that I am worth it! Overall, it was a great visit and the other employees were just as exceptional. Thank guys! Keep up the good work!”
“The Associate Named Kathy was absolutely Incredibly helpful Knowledgeable Made you feel at ease I will be back Old School Actually Measuring your feet In person not all this order on Line Stuff an Actual Person like Kathy is a breath of fresh air I will be back”

I often have a hard time buying shoes as I either don't like the style or feel the materials they are made of wouldnt be comfortable but walked out of their store with two new pairs this weekend. Looking forward to wearing those over the coming Chicago winter.”
“The experience is always pleasant and positive. I don't go often, so I don't always see the same people, but everyone sounds very knowledgeable and are helpful. I love a good pair of running/walking shoes due to supination of my foot. Wish I bought them more frequent than I have in the past.”

“Wale is outstanding. Couldn't have been happier with my custom suit. He was extremely detailed down to the final stitch and truly put together the suit of my dreams. He was easy to reach and went above and beyond in making sure my suit was exactly how I wanted it. Also helped with a few last minute requests that really went above and beyond. Fair pricing and the material used in my suit looked and felt of the highest quality. Will be back for any and all of my future suit or dress needs!”

They had a great selection of petite suiting, almost all the styles that were on the website. Unfortunately the petite sizes are still too long, but at least I was able to find that out by trying stuff on.”
