5578 Giant City Rd, CarbondaleThank you to the Indian Creek Kennel family for taking care of our two boxers on such short notice so we could enjoy the total solar eclipse. Dogs were wiped out when we got back to the hotel!! Small family run business and understood their needs given they have rescued dogs in the past. This was important to us as both of our dogs are rescues; one still is in the process of behavior training. I wish we had their services AND their amazing pricing in Chicago!

102 E Jackson St, CarbondaleHubby and I stopped at a restaurant in Carbondale. All of the food was delicious. For appetizers, we shared crab cakes and smoked salmon. My entree was the baked salmon. I can honestly say it's one of the best I've ever had, not dry and slightly crispy on the outside. (Even better than the salmon I tried in Alaska) Hubby ordered the sirloin steak which was perfectly cooked to medium rare. We even made room for some lavender ice cream. ?
