Chicago Audio is a great home audio store with a large assortment of new and drool-worthy vintage audio gear. It is a smallish, cramped shop jammed to the ceiling with amps, receivers, turntables, speakers, and tuners. The owner is very personable, helpful, and knowledgeable with years of experience, offering a great buying experience. He is very responsive and patient, taking time to answer any obscure question and letting customers listen to music on different setups.
The store is a great source of state-of-the-art new home audio gear at great prices and a top-shelf resource for finding and refurbishing vintage equipment. It is considered a must-visit for anyone seeking vintage gear. The owner provides expert repair service and guidance, making the experience highly recommended and well worth a visit. The shop offers a nostalgic feeling, harkening back to the stereo era, and represents small business at its best.

We love our Marantz receiver, speakers, and turntable. The guy was very helpful and gave personal attention so we chose wisely. I can’t wait for a tape deck and a cd player.

Feels like a time warp walking into this small shop. Good prices on everything. You can tell the owner is passionate about this.
